Green screen

Are there any movies that have been filmed entirely on a green screen?

Speed Racer

I can't help but wonder if the heavy use of green screen now of days is because studios simply don't have the money to shoot on location or build props/sets any more.

Star Wars episode 2 and 3.
Probably that awful Where the Wild Thing Are movie.

Life of Pi

it's because hollyjew's lust for shekels has them cutting costs at every possible corner

endless sequels/reboots
making movies based off of existing ips instead of coming up with new ideas
overuse of special effects when practical effects/sets would look better
zero risk taking
etc

what film was this from? That dragon looks very unintimidating.

Basically, a few related fairy tale-like stories tied together as one large narrative (like the original release of Sin City)

Funny that OP used it as an example for "entirely on green screen" when it has quite a number of pretty good-looking sets and locations.

Surprised no one posted this yet, this is the first movie filmed entirely on green screen.

It's artistically pure, the directors can create anything that want. Just as long as it isn't a photo-realistic image.

Sthap.

WHAT I HAVE BECOME

Tale of Tales was actually shot entirely on location. There are no sets.

Yes.

What?
That piece of shit of episode VII was more CGI than the prequels. And it was shitty too.

Sin city? At least I remember the hype about it being related to that, apart from being a comic book adaptation (which were still pretty rare).

Yes, Hillary Clinton's campaign.

...

Hillary confirmed for predator.

Ultraviolet made by the Equllibrium, I didn't like it at all.

I kind of liked this one, mostly for the design and setting.

The trips of reckoning!
