What did he mean by this? Did he mean he didn't expect a replicant like Deckard to do Policework?
Also what do you think of the theory that Deckard is impanted with Gaff memories which is why Gaff seemingly knows exactly what Deckard thinks all the time, also Unicorn.
Adrian Jenkins
who cares?
Jacob Turner
i do
Grayson Wood
no one then.

Killing.

Watch the deleted scenes, Deckard isn't a replicant. As for he line I think it might be there to contrast how human the replicants were and how inhuman Deckard had become. Being a one man slaughterhouse is his job.
Justin Taylor
He was just congratulating Deckard. Kind of acknowledging that the ol' blade runner had done something really difficult.
Adrian Nguyen
The story becomes fucking stupid if he's a replicant. If he's Human it has nothing but deep meanings.
Colton Sullivan
It would be entirely fitting with a Phillip K. Dick story though. Becoming unsure of your own humanity and perception of reality is kind of Dicks thing.
Connor Collins
Being a drug addled addict who wrote entertaining nonsense with the illusion of depth was Dicks thing.
Daniel Myers
Shut the fuck up, faggot.
Aaron Myers
you take that back
Lincoln King
The line following in the deleted scene was something like: 'But are you sure you are a man? It's getting hard to tell who's who around here'
Henry Ramirez
How exactly can you be a non-drug addled addict?
Daniel Clark
Isn't the point of the movie that it doesn't really matter?
Ethan Martinez
Exactly Anybody who says that Deckard must be human in order for the story to work is retarded and missed the point.
Hunter Baker
THANK YOU
Wyatt Williams
Maintenance user. Your tolerance has grown so high that you can only function normally and without withdrawals on small maintenance doses throughout the day.
Nicholas Turner
That's still being drug-addled. You're still using the drugs, even if you don't get 'high' off them
Bentley Watson
Addled is defined as a state of confusion. You're truly drug addled when you're jerking off on the bus talking about the radio computer god.
Ayden Bennett
What if you only take stimulants?
Joseph Adams
Tell him I'm eating

You people are as bad as Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof. Of course it matters. Writing a story that makes sense is the most important thing.
If Deckard is a replicant, then he is the weakest replicant ever made. Priss was a prostitute replicant and even she kicked his ass. Why would the government make a replicant hunting replicant that is weaker than his targets? What model “replicant” was he? The Nexus 6s are dying of old age. Would “replicant” Deckard be a Nexus 7? If he’s a replicant, then why does he have an apartment? Why does the police chief have to convince him to take the case? Were all the police secret replicants? Whyyyyyyyyy?
Thomas Garcia
I think you have missed the point.
The point of the movie is that emotional response and emotional control is the difference between Replicants and humanity. Replicants are like children. They develop their own emotional responses over time but they don't know how to regulate these responses. Then there's Rachael, who has implanted memories and can therefore control her emotions and if emotional control is the difference between Replicants and humanity and there are Replicants who can control their emotions, then what is the difference?
Without Deckard as a standard by which to measure humanity, it makes no fucking sense. The whole movie would be just about a bunch of different type of Replicants, some who act like children and some who have grown up.
Chase Perry
But Ridley Scott says you and everyone else involved with Brade Runna is wrong.
The final secret of the film is everyone is a Replicant and the Earth was sterilized long ago
Ryan Barnes
The real question is, why was this guy speaking ching-chong the whole movie and only realized at the end that he could speak english?
Caleb Rodriguez
That's city speak. It's a hodge podge of Japanese, Hungarian and a whole bunch of other shit 1)He could always speak English. 2)His speech at the end was plot important dialogue
Elijah Williams
The movie was about Gaff, why are you all talking about Deckard?
Henry Mitchell
But Deckard clearly couldn't understand "city speak", but Gaff speaks it anyway instead of just using english.
Brandon Mitchell
Watch the Theatrical cut
Tyler Fisher
it's a visual movie.
Cameron Nelson
This. The story and the puddle deep philosophical question exist so you don't feel stupid watching a movie for its mood and visuals.
Jacob Peterson
All movies are visual, dumbass
Carter Torres
...
Hunter Scott
Ridley Scott is such a fucking hack. Lucas-tier tbh.
Easton Morgan
Genius tier hack then?
Hunter Williams
Great insight m8
James Watson
He's pretending to be retarded to piss the cops off. End of the scene when Gaff mentions Bryant, Deck drops the act since it's real shit when the boss gets involved.
Jaxson Jones
You mean he only makes pure kino?
Gabriel Bennett
Stimulants are exactly what causes that shit you stupid fuck
It's almost impossible to get a psychotic break on any drug unless you take stims with it or take it in fuckhuge doses
William Taylor
The unicorn doesn't mean it's a fact that Deckard is a replicant. Pay attention to the origami, Gaff uses it to make fun of Deckard: Gaff makes a little chicken. Gaff makes a tiny man with a boner. Assuming Deckard told him about his unicorn dreams, Gaff made the final one to point out he's being incredibly naive; he's saying that Deckard is dreaming of something he can never have.
Also Scott said in an interview that he hinted at the replicant theme simply because anti-heroes turning into the very villains they hunt is a common detective noir trope.
Jonathan Anderson
He simply meant "Good job killing that filthy replicant scum". I don't think it was meant to throw doubt in your mind over whether he was a human or not, rather to contrast against him being hunted by a superior being, and the sad moment of Roy dying. Or some gay bullshit like that.
Connor Adams
It was actually a teaser thing for Ridley's next film. Legend.
Nathan Cook
Wow, some people just really don't get the movie, huh?
Landon Allen
Oscar bait type movies, dramas, chickflicks etc are all more reliant on dialogue/story than visuals.
Robert Bennett
TPM > Prometheus
James Gray
It's still a visual medium, unlike say radio or even theatre
