Interesting theories about the plot of a movie thread

Interesting theories about the plot of a movie thread.

I'll start.

Post YFW you realize that the Arkenstone is a worn down seeing stone, and this explains a great deal of the plot of The Hobbit.

How would that make any sense? The palantir weren't lost into deep inside a mountain.

Fuck user, even the post middle earth theory where an ice age make everything north of umbar being unable to live, and after century of earthquake makes earth like we know therefor anduril is just Excalibur would make more sense.

Eä being Earth is canon.

Placed there by sauron to ensure control of Erebor.

Sauron uses mind control magic through seeing stone, driving Dwarves to abandon allies, ensuring an easy takeover by smaug.

The Eagles don't want to fly near Mt Doom because the Eye of Sauron is actually an anti-aircraft laser weapon.

But anduril being Excalibur isn't…that was my point. I'm sorry but the rage for OP faggness is making me type like a nigger

You know, in the context of the Hobbit movies that might as well be true. Palantir weren't mind control devices and Sauron had other things to do like recorporealing, but none of that is explained in the movies.

Fair enough.

No, they were a set of Scrying devices that allowed scrying on eachother.

In some fantasy realms, Crystal balls and the like allowed the casting of spells through them.

Pic related.

All I know is Sauron probably did nothing wrong. I can't describe why, but it's the conclusion I'm inexorably drawn to as a contrarian far/tv/ortex.

The dead people on the boat in Jurassic Park 2 were killed by black ops.

Really, guy?

come on, guy.

SAURON DID NOTHING WRONG

...

Ah, so he's a socialist, eh?

Well he's called the lord of gifts, which makes him kinda like Santa Claus/Marx.

i always knew he was a fucking commie

But they are all EVIL gifts…

So he is ANTI Santa clause…

Or, a REGULAR Karl Marx.

the real killer in Se7en was pic related

pls go on

So, he was working with kevin spacey, or something?

you know all those sin-related killings in the movie?

Morgan Freeman did them all, and found some schizophrenic guy to take the blame

why though?

he hated sinners

...

not as thin as your dick

Event Horizon serves as an entry point to the Warhammer 40.000 universe.

VILE! NO!

Your mom doesn't share your opinion.

I'd tell you what she actually said, but it was all just moaning and heavy breathing… and some of those noises seem like they might be hard to spell.

I think she might have been praying at one point, can't be sure though.

I always liked the theory that story of Grease was just a hallucination that Sandy was experiencing as she drowned in the ocean, and that the part with the flying car at the end represented the last bit of oxygen leaving her brain. It makes that movie so much more bearable.

Why?

I have one . In the movie Grease the closing scene where Danny and Sandy fly in the car into the sky is really her going to heaven . Sandy actually drowned and the whole movie is her coma induced hallucination caused by lack of oxygen during Danny's failed attempt to save her.

Oh sorry didn't read the whole thread before posting. But yeah it all makes sense now.

That's the premise of The Last Ringbearer, a russian riff over LOTR.

Read it up, I guarantee it's more interesting than anything posted on Holla Forums these days

There's nothing interesting about that one. It's not even a reinterpretation based on the already existing fallible narrators in Tolkien's texts, but barely coherent bullshit that is based more on later generic fantasy than anything Tolkien.

I would understand accusing it of being fanfiction-y, but denying the reinterpretation (which is the whole point) sounds kind of retarded.

Elves, Aragorn, the wizards, the nations are retold with a post-soviet sensibility. You probably didn't read much and sperged out at the first sign of original content.

It's not reinterpretation if it's not based on the original work. It's barely a fanfic. It's just some slav's brainfart that somehow got attention because it was translated around the time LoTR movies came out.

I've always liked this one.

Nice theory but the Hobbit was written before Palantiri were an developed idea.

...

If it were a worn down seeing stone than Sauron would have known about the ring, since Bilbo had the Arkenstone and the ring on him at the same time.

kill yourself.

...

Fuck, that shit still gets me.
Even when I was younger and dumber I spotted that shit immediately.

How the fuck were they dead when the Tyrannosaurus adult was still locked in the storage area, and the babby wasn't really capable of attacking a group, much less opening doors and shit to attack the bridge crew?

Yes? And? You say that like it's supposed to be some kind of insult.

Everything from Project Mayhem, to Marla and him living in an abandon house is a dreamt up by the narrator while he's on a plane-ride.

Masketta Man is a foreign agent employing Bane to kill his most dangerous rival, CIA.

That's lifted straight from 'An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge' which means your probably right

The Arkenstone and the Dwarven obsession with it was a thing in the books too.

Fight club is about the main character battling testicular cancer. He is having trouble identifying as a male or female.

The whole fan theory is here

Capitalism. The US government wouldn't get a hand in, and needed a massive disaster in order to prove that it needed government regulation. So kill a bunch of people, create some quango or money passing scheme, as well as giving yourself legitimate ability to interfere with the process of dino creation, a handy weapon to have.

It was all a dream.
Everyone is dead.

Why aren't there more movies with this plot?

Drive is a prequel to Hotline Miami.

John McClane and David Dunn are dopplegangers, both with super powers, which is how John always manages to do all that crazy shit.

So Sauron is basically a metaphor for the international jewish banking mafia?

Same fucking thing. As a kid I assumed the studio cut out a part where raptors were involved. The film went over budget and they couldn't shoot a segment with a ton of raptors bro-ing it up in the city so they just cut it out and sent it to press.
I guess I was a cynical fa/tv/irgin since birth.

I am Menomon Appleman!
Worlds greatest Digimon Super Hero

Josh leaves the group in the middle of the night and is convinced by the witch to kill Heather and Mike or terrible things will be done to him.

This is why we see Mike in the corner (though in a VHS rip I have, no one is in the corner, even after pausing and rewatching).

In the new film, the reason why they all have GPSs is because it's a constantly shifting locale in time/space and Heather, etc. are alive (somewhat). The Blair Witch looks like she does in the concept art and most of the people wind up being under the house spiked through with sticks and shit.

Palantiri do not wear down, they are indestructible from all natural means, save for the fires of Mount Doom.

what did those stick figures mean anyway?

I think it has something to do with the fact that Elly Kedward, the Blair Witch, was finally killed by being hung from a tree. The stick figures are headless and Elly Kedward wasn't beheaded, but she was blindfolded.

The Blair Witch Cult book, which may or may not be a first hand reckoning of the trail of Elly Kedward, also mentions "…did in the holes of the said old Wall, find several Poppets, made up of Sticks and Rags and Hogs-bristles, with headless…" and "…she controlled the animals of the forest even the trees seemed to do her bidding…" but it doesn't go into any depth. The stick figures are headless and rags of Josh's clothing is later used with teeth and hair (not quite hogs-bristles but whatever) alongside them, and no one noticed anyone putting up the figures in the trees, so I figure it's connected.

I can't find anything further on it, but I think it's just related to her death and a mark of death to the people it's put around. Or it's a satan. A satan's witch thing. Who knows. I get the feeling that the whole thing was suppose to be a vague mish-mash of several unrelated stories and folktales to keep you unsure and thus slightly more afraid.

Interesting thanks user. Even though I never liked the film the lore always interested me. That and the video game explored the lore pretty well.

I don't know how old you guys are, but back in the VHS days, if there was spare tape at the end of the cassette, the dupe house would splice in something, like a blooper or whatever. Fight Club even had some behind the scenes stuff that got mixed up with the regular film.

Any ways, in the European release, someone spliced in some extra behind the scenes stuff from Blair Witch. It shows Heather in a room with really yellow lights naked from the waist up, kneeling and sitting on her ankles. Leonard, Williams, Daniel Myrick, Eduardo Sanchez and a bunch of other people all jerk off into her mouth, some times it's too much and she spits it into a bowl. Then she drinks all the cum and stands up, her tummy is clearly inflated from all the jizz. Then one the guys hold her upside down while another holds her head down on his cock until she throws up, and the jizz spills all over her face. She just kind of sits there for a while, and you hear people talking in the background. I used to wank to it all the time, then when I moved country I lost it somewhere, and was never able to find that version again.

You were the "My dad works at Nintendo!" kid back then, weren't you?

Pics or it didn't happen.

Also does your dad know Myamoto?

show us

Dreamcatchers and shit like that, protectors of evil basically. Normally made by kids during Sunday School.

There was a Blair Witch video game?

Will do.

There are several.

Representative of her victims. Blair Witch curse works like this: If you go into the woods during the day you are fine, but if you spend the night there you are screwed; you are essentially trapped there and the woods goes on forever. This is how Blair Witch fucks with her victims. The house is also massive on the inside even though it's tiny on the outside. It's basically another dimension.

Also when Heather took the figure down she was taunting it. In the new film watch what happens when a bitch breaks one of them

Same person, here is a frame I slowed down on the ARG. Bitch in window?

Screenshots from the VHS rip I have. I know that he is canonically in the corner; I have a DVD copy where he is clearly visible, but at the same timestamp on the VHS and watching the scene through Mike is not visible.

I they either enhanced or edited this for subsequent releases so as not to lend credence to the "Josh and Mike colluded and killed her" theory, and to make it more about the Bitch.

How the fuck did I not find out about this until now?

Actually because of the Nazgul. Whining about eagles is typical normalfaggot autism.

The whole thing happened in his head, he is actually in captivity and hooked up yo.

Well they weren't really marketed except for the PS2 one where you actually go into the home in the film. Interesting because they visit the concept of the home and forest being a separate dimension, a la new film

Just shmuck my shit up

What if the ending was just the death-infused hallucinations of a dying delusional girl who always read too many fairy tales

it wouldnt matter

There should be a rule preventing people from saying "it was all a dream/hallucination/death-vision"
It's literally the easiest twist to come up with, which is why it's typically mocked when it's used implicitly

So Switzerland is Mordor?

Their evil is unparalleled among elves and men

could be worse

wasn't that also a thing in the games?
