No I get satire. I just thought the movie pussyfooted around a bit. It came out during the early years of the Iraq war. The problem is that the film is some milquetoast liberals criticizing Bush while the graphic novel was an Anarchist criticizing Thatcher. That and even the comic itself shows that V isn't some pure character and has flaws of his own.

I wanted the coup to win as well, but I'm not sure there was ever any chance of that. I don't know whether it was an Erdogan false flag, or whether his plans for purges forced the military's hand early, but either way once Erdogan is done there won't be many Kemalists left in positions of power.
