Is there still an audience for puppet shows and movies?

Is there still an audience for puppet shows and movies?

Considering how popular Don't Hug Me I'm Scared got I'd say so. It even had a successful Kickstarter.

...

I never saw Labyrinth as a puppet movie, it's like Star Wars, a movie that just happens to have puppets as an effect.

KS isn't a reflection of mass market interest.

Hell yeah

Thunderbolt Fantasy is pretty much the show of the season this season. Top tier Taiwanese puppetry.

Only when it's done well.

Yeah, that is definitely true. Hell, how many projects were under simply by autistic individuals with to much money.

This looks awful

It's fucking great bro.

I bet you play video games and watch cartoons and capeshit, too.

Not on primetime it seems

Didn't that show have pretty terrible writing though?

The Muppet Show in general is pretty hard to live up to

The muppet show is preety
GOAT
going back to it and watching it again? I'm suprised by just how high quality it is I wish there was something like it still on the air.

I wouldn't even say it's high quality, it just had a ton of heart. The people who worked on it loved what they did and gave it their all. They wanted to entertain and expand minds. You don't really get that any more on television.

no

Yeah, it was a great fantasy film and the puppetry was done like any other special effect. It was miles ahead of any CGI in recent films.

indeed, puppets were just standard special effects back then

Rather than the subject for really niche reality shows

Puppets>>>CG any day.

I feel the same about green screen vs sets.

CG really isn't at the point directors should use it so liberally.
