Live long and JUST

All aboard the USS Diversity - NCC 1701-XE/XIR

I am routing for the Klingons, the Romulans, the Cardassians, the Borg, hell anyone that is not the Vageration.

How could you root for a lesser species?

Anyone is better the Vageration.

fucking spoonheads

Deep down Miles, you've always felt more comfortable with us than your peace loving federation friends.
You know where you stand with us Miles, we've never looked down on you or pandered to you. If anything you have always had our utmost respect. While your "federation" has been embarrassed about you, even dare I say, ashamed.

I still don't understand how Federation citizens don't go stark raving mad and aim for the high score.

Living on Earth is basically like being immersed in tumblr.

Here are some candidates for the main character.

Essentially cause it's one big safe space, why people move out to the frontier, to get away from the Tumbleration

She looks like the bastard love child of ET and young MJ.

Better than the alternative.

In general it's depicted as a vaguely leftist utopia with a diamond age level tech providing a benign welfare state.

Their positive spin is there is no more material poverty, people are free to pursue other things besides basic subsistence and such. In one TNG episode Troi rattled off the reasons why Federation Earth eradicated poverty, but she's a betazoid slut who can't into technology. The more likely reasons are technological ones, such as replicator and transporter tech, warp engines, space meds etc. The possible abuse or non utopian outcomes are rarely explored IMO other than in the mirror universe stories, which looking back the mirror universe stories seems way more believable, interesting, and more likely to happen considering how human nature is. The Terran empire has a higher chance of happening over The Federation, at least the really saccharine version of the Federation.

If I was offered a choice of entering into a fictional universe made real, I'd likely choose ST:TNG universe. They got a really good medical plan coverage. I'd get my earth Federation citizenship, but I'd also want to go space homesteading away from Earth co-ordinate 0,0,0 as soon as possible. I want to find and homestead an unassuming planet where I can write my holonovel, a galactic compendium of space racist jokes about spoonheads, hasperats, autistic space elf sluts, vagina foreheads. Work on my camper van spaceship with the side panel art depicting a topless valkyrie unicorn centaur. And conceal and open carry my phaser pistols and rifles and enjoying my collection of antique kinetic projectile weaponry from the 22nd century.

So they're doing what Voyager did in the 90's, and pretending it's a radical new idea?

And then utterly fail to explain why anyone would bother doing fuckall when they can just stay at home all day and fuck celebrities in the holodeck.

They handwave it with vague nonsense about "duty" and "wish to explore", but that can't possibly account for the number of staff Starfleet has. It just reeks of rather severe psyops on the population to brainwash them into doing the Federation's bidding.

Ah, the good old Marxist fairytale of "when we satisfy all their needs people will stop being people". And they wonder why every attempt to implement their ideology ends in mass slaughter.

I imagine there would be no Holla Forums and nobody would be allowed to talk about niggers nigging on the internet. The only way a hugbox such as the Federation could possibly function is with a heavily policed society.

Thing is, the Terran Empire would be far more interesting to watch. No more endless episodes about the Prime Directive, or fascination with shit alien cultures while pretending the multicultural abomination turning everything into its own mirror image of bland shit is the only answer to the galaxy, just intrigue, war and drama, like the best stories out there.

This is one bizarre thing that you often encounter in leftist masturbatory literature, like the Culture. There you have a society with no creed, no flag, no symbols to unite behind, where humans do fuckall while AI go around running the show and waging war, and the author doesn't even see the danger of these godlike intellects figuring out they could have better shit to do with their time than babysit a bunch of hairless monkeys.

At least Hyperion acknowledged the danger of letting AIs run the show.

they already had a SJW version of trek it was called Voyager..the fucking marxist scum are never satisfied

Again why DS9 was superior.

cont

I mean, compare this fucking intro with the usual Star Trek fare. This shit is what I'm talking about, not that gay parade we are offered with each new iteration of sci-fi AIDS.

Isn't this sort of the reason why the Maquis broke away from the Federation?

Funny thing about The Culture is that even though it's supposed to be utopian it seems like hell in many ways, even when designed to be artificially perfect leftist modernist materialism still sucks.

Someone name for me once instance in all of human history of a female martial leader of some sort, because I can't think of any.

The Culture is basically the Brave New World taken to the space age where the state has been replaced by AI and freedom is purely superficial. The sickening thing is that not only did I.Banks say that the culture was indeed his personal utopia, but that there are whole communities that agree with him.

The entire series revolves around diversity. It was a TV series that had a Russian dude on the bridge in the height of the Cold War.

Anyway the show has already had a black captain and a female captain. As long as the actor is good and not a stereotype I'm interested in seeing where it goes.

More or less.

It's stated and contradicted in a few episodes that the Federation doesn't have a currency. But it's never actually explained how this would work on a societal level.

In terms of the Terran Empire I think it's way better when used sparingly. Like after TOS it wasn't used in TNG and didn't reappear til DS9. And one of the best episodes to Enterprise was just a Mirror universe episode. I don't think devoting an entire series to the mirror universe would be that interesting since it's a plot device that works best in small doses.

You can see this for instance with how the Borg were the best villains in TNG and VOY was so excited to use them that it used them in a dozen or more episodes which made them more boring.

But this time the woman will be a [person of color] and/or [LGBTQ+]. These extra properties will magically elevate the show to a higher quality, as proven by the new Ghostbusters kino.
PROGRESS

It's ironic that it is liberals who want that sort of future.

Boudica.
There were a bunch of female pirate captains if we're sticking with the ship theme.

But by all means, please give me a reactionary denigrating response, possibly something questioning the validity of historical records.

I would totally watch a show about a female led space pirate crew, shame we're just going to get a progressive checklist that'll get dropped after 1 season instead.

Star Trek?
MORE LIKE STAR WRECK!

Oy vey. Wouldn't want them to get ideas, would we?

What about it?

Boudica wasn't a fucking military leader. She didn't lead the armies, what was done to her was the casus belli to unify the tribes.

Please stop parroting plebbit and their moronic understanding of history.

Just because it happens to be true is not my fault. Go whine to someone who cares that human history is not progressive enough.

Whedon, please fuck off back to twitter.

Are you saying they don't you fucking cis male sexist pig? Its current year! Get with the times!

...

There was a few episodes that touched on the subject of holo-addiction, but in most ST stuff. Yes, there is a trend of handwaving away, or touching on the surface of a potentially interesting idea and story, but backing away because it's not as clean or neat and tidy as The Narrative.

Yup. Again, there was some moments where it could have explored that angle in depth, ie the eugenic wars, what happens to a society on a planetary scale if it meets another bipedal intelligent sentient race etc. Potential effects and ripples of a large disruptive technology. Unfortunately it almost always backs off, if lucky a good Mirror Universe episodes is the most you'll get.

On Federation Earth Prime? Absolutely there would be no "h-8-chan" allowed on the galactic federation.spacenet. The Starfleet HQ is in san fran, there is a DS9 episode where it showed the president of earth, and surprise surprise it's an alien. Which is why I only want my Federation card for the medical insurance and coverage, as soon as that is processes and done with I'm leaving on my space camper van to stake out my own little planet.

Yep. IMO there are more interesting and believable stories to mine from that angle, and I'm not even advocating everything to be grimdark. But there was a solid reason why Ron D Moore nope the fucked out of ST after what happened to him with the production of Voyager.

Something about the Federation shafting their own colonist in the territorial disputes with the Cardies iirc. Shit that can only happen in that ST universe it seems, because everywhere else that would probably be enough cause for a space war, or at least space cold war. While I can still enjoy some parts of ST, the original series, TOS movies Wrath of Khan and Undiscovered country, TNG and DS9 mostly. I also know many of ST sci fi parts are as solid as gooey cheese and held together by leftist handwaving. I know that if I was in that universe, despite my federation card that I want only for the med coverage, I'd likely be in the watch list for a potential maquis, or in need of 'counselling' in space multi culti sensitivity re-education camps.

I merely ask a question admitting I don't know of any female martial leaders in all of history and you immediately get triggered. Wow, just asking questions and admitting my own ignorance is taken as muh-soggy-knees. You fucking cunt feminists are the worst. Nothing is ever good enough short of absolute worship and you're just perpetually offended. Go drive a steak knife up your vagina tbh.

Social progress is a myth, kiddo. What you call "progress" is the decline of the west, the death of her cultures and peoples.

I APOLOGIZE PLEASE 4GIVE ME HOW CAN I PROVE TO YOU I'M NOT SEXIST I WORSHIP ALL WOMEN AS GODDESSES I PROMISE PLEASE RESPOND WITH GOOD BOY POINTS I'M DESPERATE

There it is, classic Holla Forums newfags.

I'm a NatSoc but thanks for assuming that because I don't think all women are incompetent I must be an American liberal.

There it is, classic goon.

/n/ since 05, but since the thread is already ruined here's a little something for you american "natsoc"s.

You'll grow out of the tantrums.

That's the thing about Star Trek, it always defaults to "Federations is Mary Sue", and that's why it's a fucking boring show and always will be.

You don't need to go full 40k, just not shit on every other species in the galaxy and show them as unenlightened and barbaric while the Federation is the ultimate utopia.

Then again, with the current state of military sci-fi, they'd pozz that shit up too.

What happened?

I must say it gives me some satisfaction to see a goon pretending to be a national socialists considering how much they hate them, must be at least a little humiliating for him. I can almost see him eyeing over his shoulder so that his bull doesn't catch him posting that.

So, you're saying Hitler is even more awesome than I thought?

Not only are you a leftists, a feminist, but also a Christian? Talk about a hat trick of cuckolding.

O'Brien fights for the idea of the Federation. But it's obvious from the assignments he's taken over his years that he doesn't enjoy the anodyne existence living in it provides. There's a reason that even as an NCO, he's sought the most far-reaching assignments; fighting in far flung wars, serving on the flagship vessel exploring the outer reaches of the quadrant, living on shitty station at the extreme edge of Federation space.

He considers "perfectly" replicated meat to be shite, and fondly remembers eating bloody beef and bacon as a child. He enjoys horrible rations that put function over taste. He likes darts. He prefers bro-ing out than spending time with his diversity quota wife

He's a normal man as disaffected with his ideal, socially-engineered culture and society as any modern user (but he's useful).

But still, fuck the Cardies. Especially Cardie Kira.

O'Brien is a racemixing cuck tbh fam. His children will grow up to be supreme gentlemen serial killers.

At least learn the lingo, goon. Only commies use the term "reactionary".

Racemixing (and even species-mixing) is mandatory in Starfleet, and O'Brien understood that if he didn't impregnate the chink Starfleet Command assigned to him, he'd go the way of Wesley's father.

Even an eligible bachelor like Riker had to turn to the holodeck to release his urges for a white human woman. In his normal life, he was only permitted to chase halfbreed Betazoids, Bajorans, and tranny tumblr aliens. Worf was lucky K'heylar was a halfie or Alexander would have been in trouble.

He should be at the helm of the new series, wouldn't that be great?

She's Japanese

...

I honestly might consider the idea of watching it if he was.

You know I'm right, sonny jim.

DS9 is the closest ST series so far IMO, that has less of that. Not completely AIDS Ebola free, just slightly less of it, though not for lack of trying. The idea of Section 31 for example, I find to be very believable and plausible. Sheeeit, it would be more absurd if section 31 did not exist in the Federation. Nearly every other major factions in major quadrants has it's own secret branch doing some dirty work that the 'civilized' folks says they just don't do! Space pearl clutching thrown in.

You can look up one of his old blog post if you want to read it for yourself. But long story short IIRC, Ron Moore originally wanted Voyager to be a more believable and non-episode of the week structure, really test, bend, and break the prime directive, every torpedoes in the ship would be counted because they were running a damaged ship that is far off any Federation starbase. Basically the rebooted Galactica series was what Moore originally envisioned for Voyager. I don't remember the exact writer\exec who did it, but the dude basically disagreed with Moore or thought that was just too unstartrek like. Which by itself is not the problem. But instead of telling that to Moore face to face, he kinda did a run around on Moore, and made Voyager into mostly a rehash of TNG. Without telling Moore man to man, that part is what seems to piss off Moore the most.

So instead of a fairly believable consequence persistent series of scenarios of what would happen to a less than full compliment crew of a damaged starfleet space ship on a far flung quadrant of space, that has to make difficult choices between survival and lofty muh inviolable prime directive dictated from San Fran hq. We got Neelix the happy alien chef with psychic space elfin wife! Space romance episodes this week with oh you so unlucky in love ensign kim lololooolz! A holodeck episode with 'Katerina' Janeway and Gimli as holo-Da Vinci!

Again iirc in the blogpost Moore was an advocate of pushing the comfortable boundaries of ST, because I think he knows without that push ST easily becomes stuck in a rehash cycle and dull.

Sauce on that qt?

It's the same idea as with the Culture's Special Circumstances. It's the libcucks tacitly admitting their shit ideology doesn't work in the real world and they need to resort to what everyone else is doing.

It's hilarious how Section 31 completely nullifies everything the Federation stands for. It pretty much paints them as massive hypocrites hiding behind their moral pedestal while being even more morally bankrupt than everyone else.

The really amazing thing is that the leftist drones don't even realize the hypocrisy at play. Perfect doublethink at play.

I admit, that would have been pretty awesome, but I guess too much of a redpill for the average trekkie.

Well ok small correction to that. IIRC neelix was fairly passive aggressive due to fear of Tom Paris cucking neelix, visions of Tom fucking Neelix space space progeria manic pixie wife probably haunted that alien chef. But for some reason it appears that Neelix is way too friendly with the negro black vulcan. Neelix seems so fucking desperate to get a black vulcan friend on his diversity bingo card.

With a son like that, Jack Crusher got off lucky

Yep, I agree mang. Section 31 is IMO one of the more interesting and very plausible scenario that DS9 explored. It makes sense, there's the Obsidian Order, the Tal Shiar. Starfleet NOT having Section 31 or something like it would be absurd, muh prime directive and handwaving only goes so far if the scenario is to be explored in a believable way, especially if the scenario deals with human nature.

Pity that we will never see a Star Trek show whose purpose is the (brutal) deconstruction of Star Trek as a setting.

Reality itself is that brutal deconstruction.

Reality doesn't work on leftists thought, at least not until it comes at them in the form of a nigger swinging his fist in their face, trying to punch the gibs out of them like a kid does with a pinata.

I'd watch it

Maybe she will at least have a big ass.

...

Count me the fuck it. With all the insanity in the world since last June, it might just happen.

Intro:

O'brien and his nagging herbivore waifu are sitting at the dinner table smiling, happy.
slow fade into them in bed

O'Brien's smile slowly disappears and is looking at the ceiling (flexes his pugy jaw a few times)

He looks over at his wife's sleeping calm face.

Cut to her eyes open

Waaaap!

A dart appears in her head.

Buuuuuuurpppppppp!

O'brien is now in a bar chucking darts at the face of his ex-wife.

"Wew lads, I think I just made my ancestor's pride with that one"

He chucks another dart as he spills his beer some. It hits the wall next to his exes-picture.

"He he, I'm throwing darts worse than Cardies threw an effective resistance to the Dominion when their home planet getting was getting wrecked"

Rrrrrrrrrrrtttttt (Record Scratch)

You're probably wondering how I got here…

As long as his second in command is a hot Cardassian and Kikeo dies from being raped to death by Klingon's (which it turns out Miles paid them to do). It goes without saying the Cardie is into the chief.

...

...

...

You don't need a budget when you have diversity.

And yes, I'm serious, tumblr will gobble anything up so long as you include their kind into the plot.

A wrench clangs off the sterile deck.

O'brien winces and visibly shuts his eyes and raises a hand to his temple.
Unfortunately, he forgot his coffee mug is still in hand and he spill some on his shirt.

the mug says "Cardy tears" and is glued together.

"God bless it" he croaks

A figure appears with her ass facing O'brien, she is bent over, picking up the archaic wrench, with legs for days and a robust ass that puts 7/9 to shame.

"Cripes, I ain't seen a wrench or heard that song in a king's age".

She begins to straighten up and his eyes follow her form hungrily.

She turns around and O'brien is looking at her crotch and slowly moves his eyes up to her sweaty loosely zipped cleavage.

Female mechanic, "I heard you used to make quite a bit of music when you were the lead singer here in the garage, Chief"

He looks at her sweaty neck, follows it up…..just as she blows away her her stray hair from her head.

Reveling a Cardasian face with a smirk.

"It's Captain, and keep it the fuck down in here!"

"Yes Sir!" she says and salutes with the wrench.

O'brien walks away, a little uncomfortably, as the front of his pants are a little tighter than when he entered the Engine Room.

"I'm getting too old for this shit"
rumbles O'brien as he makes his morning rounds.

So she's the maid?

Captain's Fluffer.

Am I the only one that thought this show was literally the worst? I never really see it talked about on any site, though the few places where it is, most people seemed to like it for some reason. I managed to slog through it for awhile, but I gave it up around the time the ex-Neo-Nazi guy joined the police force and the big Indian fucker laid siege to the police force and killed the Policewoman.

Kai Proctor and his assistant were good characters, but the rest of the characters were either annoying, boring, pointless, or outright idiotic, either in concept, or execution. I was actually amazed at the fact that I either hated, or didn't care about every single character on the entire Goddamn show, it was pretty impressive, no other show has made me despise its own characters to this degree. Not even Game of Thrones.

WEW LAD, I fucked up. I was trying to make a new thread and didn't notice I was viewing this one.

Nigger are you trying to derail my O'brien fanfic?

Never seen the show. Seen the sex scenes though and they were pretty hot

Yuck.

How do you fuck up this badly

I fucking loved the Terran Empire, as depicted in Dark Mirror.

How is that something bad?

We need the context of why he's laughing

I'm surprised Yaphet would say such a thing

Well there's that one Vulcan who did in DS9.

You take that back user. Cardie Kira is easily the most attractive non-Ezri Trek girl.

go back to twitter gay panda

Are you a fag user?

I'm not the one who's attracted to a little boy.

SUPREME MATHEMATICIAN

Where do you think you are?

What do the respective Daxes look like now?

Ezri is a perfectly fuckable milf in my opinion.

Terry Farrell actually aged pretty well

...

The entire fucking core premise of Star Trek is marxist globalist muh diversity multiculti poz. It is THE example of it in fiction.

If this surprises you in any way you are fucking retarded.

QT314

Tel's alright, but Nana's in a very nice state.

...

Terran Empire you say?

What a fag.

YOU DARE INSULT THE GOD EMPEROR'S LUSCIOUS LOCKS? YOU HERETIC!

...

...

What. This plan wouldn't work at all. In order for the Federation to keep people happy in their bland existences, they wouldn't allow even the smallest seeds of exceptionalism to ferment or it would bring the house of cards crashing down.

If you tried to start up your own planet alone and just wanted to be left to your own devices with a family, you'd just end up as a space age version of Ruby Ridge.

If you got together with a group of like-minded people who wanted a similar life, founded a planet you would either be treated something like the Germans who are trying to set up independent villages where they can live by their own ideals are, or it would just be a repeat of what happened to Khan who did nothing wrong

Pure trash. Ezri should be a precious pixi.

It's reasons like this that I prefer Star Wars. The universe is dirty and chaotic but open and free and the best way to get by in it is either with a good blaster by your side or being able to manipulate the energy field around you and wield a lightsaber.

This is gonna be Voy 2.0 I guess. No thank you.

Friendly reminder Bajorans are space muslims and got butthurt enough to bomb the school when O'Brien's bitch wife wouldn't teach about their gay space temple.

WORMHOLE ACKBAR

According to Gene, the federation has masterer social engineering to the point that most people wouldn't even be able consider 'dissent' like that.

No, really, his visions of future utopia earth were terrifying. Like 1984 but by someone who thinks that world would be awesome.

...

Kinda cool that they made an extra intro for the Episode but man that looked like shit.

I think The Federation would be the space police, with planets joining out of protection.
If you hitchhiked to a distant planet, the problem is you would be completely without help if someone else invaded your planet.

Not all works of fiction are supposed to be realistic. Some can demonstrate a goal to strive to, like Superman.

When you talk with Klingons and Romulans on a weekly basis, different-colored people of your own species seem insignificant. Sorry this triggered your racist mindset.

IMO that would depend greatly on which era you're looking at. For myself I prefer to count from ST:TOS as the chronological origin point of the Federation. I don't count Enterprise bullshit because tbh famalamadingdong I think that series is retarded, with a few exception like the Mirror Universe 2 parter and some other ep. I forgot because again, retarded show I don't care much for.
TOS focused more on exploration of space and metaphorical ones. It pretty much is wagon to the stars show as Roddenberry wanted. If someone(s) wants to fuck off to a remote colony somewhere there is still a good chance that this is possible without a lot of Federation red tape strangling you. The Federation still wants people to spacestead and claim territories in their name at this stage.
TNG era, still quite possible in here too, but definitely also hints of Federation either abandoning or fucking over their own or other colonists for their own purposes. See: the Maquis situation and how that came about. But in this era the Federation still wants territorial expansion.
DS9. Spacesteading still possible but trickier, especially during the Dominion war era. If you're in a really remote backwater planet, starfleet might not care or too busy during a large scale war. Then again if it's wartime against changeling founders, shit can get cloak and bloody dagger real fast. Section 31, bitches, the continuing existence of the Federation is at stake, you better believe all the gloves are off.

Voyager era. IMO this is where I believe the era in which the spirit of exploration got neutered or brainwashed out. Even if I take at face value that USS Voyager did not get a proper shakedown, the ship got severly damaged and was thrown into the deep end of the space quadrant, which made returning to Federation space a priority. Something about the attitude and behavior shown by it's crew gets me thinking how fucked up the Federation has openly become. From Boldly Go to I Wanna Go Home! Spacesteading is likely strangled to death with Federation red tape in this era.

Voyager already had a woman as Captain and she was the worst captain, only thing different is now it will be a black woman.

They never learn from their mistakes

While I also have an inclination to go off to somewhere in the Outer Rim territory to just be left alone and do my own shit, with a blaster on my side. SW got it's own share of problems. Consider that it can be argued that a large part of it's galaxy was plunged into war by the Jedi Council led by a dyslexic muppet that thought Anakin killing off barbaric, backwards sandnig-I mean sandpeople who abducted, tortured and killed his mother was somehow wrong. I'm not even going into the "new and improved" Mandaloreans bullshit.

Star Wars is way more morally black and white.

I remember I was browsing the Steam hub for Kotor 2 a few days ago and someone talked about how confusing the game was because it would occasionally punish you for trying to do the "right" thing.

At the core to Star Trek is this moral ambiguity where doing the right thing often leads to the worst outcome. It's why concepts like the Prime Directive exist and why several episodes are dedicated to exactly why it was created. It's one aspect of sci-fi that Star Wars lacks because it's more interested in being action/adventure and not about exploring the actual possibilities of space and technology.

I don't actually think the fact Janeway was a woman was the reason why VOY was garbage. I think it was entirely because of how poorly written it was. Like they devoted so many episodes to the Borg that by the end of the series they were just boring. The same with bringing back Q pointlessly. Say what you will about DS9 but at least it tried new things and intentionally didn't rehash the strengths of TNG.

DS9 for instance had a black dude as a captain and it's my favorite series

I certainly think a female captain can work and they can do it in such a way that the character doesn't come across like a stereotype. It just depends on how good the writers are.

He wasn't the best captain on DS9 though.

That was the thing. One aspect of Sisko I liked was he felt like a more down to Earth character. I liked that they didn't just copy Kirk or Picard with him. They gave him clear character flaws. Like he's impatient, he has a temper, he likes trashy women. He also commands a presence, he plays baseball, he has a kid and doesn't start out the series as a captain.

I really liked that the character developed as the series went on. He didn't feel like an explorer like Kirk or Picard, who would be more inclined to ask "why" something is happening and investigate it. Sisko always felt more like a problem solver who was more focused on how to fix something. Like when Q starts getting up in his grill he gets mad and punches him in the face. He doesn't care who Q is or what he represents. It's why Q even says he finds Sisko boring in comparison and never appears in the series again. It's why he felt like a perfect fit for a series set in a stationary location and why I always liked how he was written and how he contrasts with Gul Dukat and some of the other characters on the show.

By comparison Kirk and Picard are regarded for being really ambitious captains. Sisko always felt like the kind of dude who was saddled with a shitty situation and learned to adapt and make the most of things. It's why I like DS9 the most despite having maybe the least amount of speculative fiction episodes (which are my favorite kind of Trek episodes).

That always bugged me about Voyager, how they were so eager to get home. I understand that they alone and need support, but they are supposed to be explorers! Something in the Federation changes, maybe easy expansion ends with the Dominion War, like Rome stopped expanding.

That always bugged me a little. Star Trek hails itself as a progressive multicultural view of the future but when someone fucks with him he starts nigging and nogging all over the place.

That was actually the biggest reason why the ending to DS9 was made more ambiguous with Sisko saying he'd come back. Because at the 11th hour Avery Brooks realized that the character is a black man running out on his pregnant wife and kid.

Even still it does come across that way and to me it harms the religious symbolism of the final episode.

He should have expected that after the writers straight up had a white woman lock him in a hot box.

JUST

I agree that it was the flaws that made this captain more acceptable when compared to the likes of Picard who was basically the pinnacle of man/morality or some bullshit.

One of the things I hate about the Disney Star Wars EU is that they've basically resimplified the lore to be that black and white bullshit again, when in the old EU it was shown that both sides could be gray, with several stories that showed the positive traits of the empire or how keeping them around a bit longer would've been better for the galaxy as a whole after the Vong came along. Siths were even capable of being more human than a jedi and some jedis proved that they could feel emotion without becoming some emo teen sith shit. Its that kinda thing that I felt was sadly under appreciated in the old lore.

This. George really emphasized the whole "heroes on both sides" thing.

Not all social engineering is bad though.

...

Fuck, I'm just happy we got a non Abrams involved series.

Yeah, but to be fair the Clone Wars cartoon kinda fucked that up in its final seasons where they made Dooku a generic villain and Grievous a Dr. Claw/Skeletor-like character while in the comics Grievous was this dishonored warrior hero of his people and Dooku was simply seeking to establish a new government as he saw the Republic as corrupt and stagnant.

Let's not even talk about how much George fucked Grievous. Dude got fucking JUSTed.

In ENT the captain of the NX-02 was a woman, she seemed nice and she didn't have a cancerous voice.

Uh, you don't get to make shitposts.

Yeah but she's no Janeway.

JUSTed is an understatement. The whooping cough and asthma bullshit was given to him because of the dumbest reason imaginable.

JUST FUCK MY LUNGS UP

Then they retconned that perfectly good cartoon and replaced it with CGI clone wars where they showed that Grievous was always a weak coward with breathing problems because apparently he was the first cyborg or some shit.

The two are interlinked. The creators clearly cared more about having a rainbow-coloured cast than they did about making genuinely compelling stories or characters.

This is literally you cumskin.

...

That's lucky for her since her acting 'talent' isn't going to carry her far.

This tbh.

She doesn't act any more. She's a stay-at-home mum.

She's probably got enough Star Trek money to last ten lifetimes anyway

Fair enough.

I think you overestimate how profitable being a Trek actor is. Doubly so when you burnt all your bridges in a fairly stupid career move.

After six seasons, she probably has a sizeable nest egg, so long as she didn't spend her money on stupid shit like rims.

What did she do? I didn't hear this story

Don't remind me.

Dukat is the best Captain in Star Trek period.

I don't think you get paid that much. Families are expensive too nigger.

She quit in S6 to go be part of a fairly average sitcom (that she was eventually dropped from) and her departure wasn't particularly smooth. She refused to let them use her image in the final episodes montage iirc and didn't show up in any of the other products other than The Fallen. Pretty silly move given that she was only ever hired for her looks.

If i remember correctly she claims she wanted to negotiate to reduce her role to a recurring character so she can have more time to take the other Job on the sidelines but Ira Behr wouldn't have any of it.
According to her her unceremonial Death and removal from the endings montage was Ira Behrs doing because he was butthurt.

I've heard the same claim and I'm not fan of Behr but at the end of the day it would have been a better long-term move for her to finish the series. Getting a reputation as unreliable isn't smart when you don't have the talent to back it up.

The death I believe (classic Trek move that) but I've always heard she refused to be in the montage over lasting anger about the whole situation. Memory Alpha seems to agree and it's normally accurate.

Still at least we got Ezri to replace her. DS9 has the best girls.

Good female leader comming through.
And the reason she was good is because it never mattered she was a women.

But this new captain is going to be Janeway 2.0: Attack of the Black Mary Sue.

user when you live around other species, the colour of your species doesn't really matter anymore

nigga, both Carter and the Doctor were better leaders than she was

Hahaha Romans BTFOed that Iceni slut

I don't know exactly what she got paid per episode but given that she was starring in it, she probably got paid in the tens of thousands at least. 26 episodes a year, for six years, she'd have plenty of money. Families are expensive, yes, but she probably made more in a year than most parents make in a lifetime.

Yes, instead we get a series run by the guy that wrote for the Abrams movies ("Magic Super Blood" Kurtzman). Real fucking smart

And they didn't even have the decency to make CG Clone Wars an Interquel like the cartoon was. Instead it was just a bunch of random stories that somehow account for the 3 years between II and III and there's no real transitioning between the two movies like the cartoon did except change the Clones armor to match the third film.

Good.

Basically it looks like they both got anally annihilated, which doesn't really surprise me since they both have sizable egos.

You mean boring female leader, mate.

as if there can be any other kind.

Sure there can. They can be demented, exceedingly bloodthirsty, and bipolar. Oh you mean likable, honorable traits, nevermind

They lost the torpedoes at the same time the Borg showed up and could have made new ones, it's not a great gotcha and could easily be explained by a 30 second dialogue clip.

That would require siphoning the already limited antimatter from the Warp Core to load into fabricated warheads. And if they can fabricate antimatter instead of collecting it from space they would also have to use the limited deuterium they collect from space (that's what the red parts on the nacelles are for) to power some kind of device to produce antimatter.

Of course it would be easier to just go to a store run by aliens that don't want to murder them and buy some antimatter or torpedoes, but they would have to show or say they're doing that, which I don't think they did. They just get more torpedoes because the plot says they need to shoot some, like when the plot says they need another shuttle to crash even though they've crashed a dozen or so.

Well, she's certainly more attractive than Janeway, I'll give her that

They actually originally planned to count the number of torpedoes properly but that went out the window a few seasons in. They even through a scene in which it was unclear how many torpedoes had been fired just to upset the autists counting.
