I would be goading Sony to go onwards with this as this could be one hell of a final nail to the coffin and set a new record in the time a movie kills a company through stupid reasons. But I think Sausage Party's gonna be the one that delivers the final blow.

te be fair aliens and pretty much any character story in space is the equivalent of a bottle episode. wicked cheap to produce. the cgi is the biggest expense and those shots are totally disposable if you frame it as a character tale
