I rewatched BttF 2 and 3 due to this thread. Some thoughts.

The movies are really hurt by the lack of Crispen Glover, in BttF 3 the old west version of Marty is married to the old west version of his mother mostly likely because they couldn't cast Glover. His absence in BttF 2 is noticeable if you're aware of the BTS issues.

The time travelling train at the end of 3 was really unnecessary, a bitter sweet ending about the dangers of time travel they'd been alluding to all through the series would have been capped off far better with Doc living out his days in the old west with Clara. Also the kid points at his dick and it's really odd they kept that take in the final film.

The callbacks and bridging through the series are very strong. They aligned the story well, apart from not following through on the "time travel is dangerous and you shouldn't do it" message.

As a kid I didn't like 3 as much as the other two mostly because of the setting, I preferred something more modern but rewatching when you know things like who Clint Eastwood actually is makes the movie a lot funnier. I'd say 3 is more mature than the other two, mirrored by Marty adopting Docs lines and role in parts.

The concept of time travel used in these movies makes no sense and that does not matter at all.

1985 "fixed" timeline Biff becomes a cuck but the future version of him doesn't seem to match that 1985 version when they are meant to be the same.

Three great movies altogether, Hollywood probably already working on the reboot where Marty is a black girl and Doc is played by Melissa McCarthy.
