A good point, although the film was banned two years before the US entered the war. Censorship can be practical for wartime morale, but that still doesn't make it right when it silences legitimate criticism of government policy. The Nazi government wanted to protect its citizens from the movie because it contained the idea that the persecution of Germany's Jewish minority and the suppression of individual freedom under totalitarianism is morally wrong. There are plenty of films and other media criticizing the US's interventionism during the Cold War and the War on Terror, but none of these have been outright banned by the US government.

The enemy propaganda excuse also doesn't apply to the silencing of German dissension and any non-Nazi values. That was purely to keep the regime in power and allow it to control every facet of culture.

I felt like the documentary did a really good job at explaining the historical side of things for the first half, it tells you thing you didn't know, backed by proof and interesting facts.

Then at some point halfway through it goes completely off the rail into poltardedness and talks about conspiracies, things that have absolutely no proof whatsoever and becomes just nazi propaganda.

The documentary itself is propaganda. But here's the thing: EVERY and I really do mean every other documentary about WWII I've seen is blatant propaganda for the other side. While they lie completely, this one mostly keeps silent about Hitler's blunders, so it's lie by omission than outright fabrication. In any case, it's an interesting look into an alternative world where the other side won and honestly, this documentary has more truth to it than what you'll see on history channel or wherever. It's worth a watch, but not following blindly.
