I was incredibly disappointed with it since day one. I didn't buy into any of the hype but I thought Mark Hamill would at least have a part in it since he was sort of the protagonist of the OT and I wanted to know what he got up to afterwards but Jew Jew apparently didn't know either.
TFA was like a Joss Whedon adaption of ANH and with some other parts of the OT thrown in. It was terrible in pretty much every way it could be.

It was obvious that it was going to suck and it did terribly why anyone thinks this film is somehow better than Ghostbusters 2016 is beyond me.
The only good thing I can say is that it looked better than the prequels in terms of CGI but even that was ruined but how the Millennium Falcon smashed into the ground and rubber banded around the screen without suffering any damage add to that that the Falcon was rotting in a junkyard in at the beginning of the film.

Perhaps it was the resolution or the coloring but the new one looks nicer in my opinion.

The prequels are both great and terrible at the same time. What they succeed with they do so amazingly, the creative designs, the huge scope, the cinematography, the chiastic storytelling… what they fail at they do so in just as grand manner. The prequels are very polarising since depending on what you think is important you will either hate them or love them but you won't forget them.
TFA was just bland and bad, you probably won't remember it in a couple of years. The old EU had more memorable and good stuff honestly.

Some directors seem to forget that the human eye doesn't work like a camera and just assume that any lens flares, shaky cams, dutch angles, etc. that they put in a movie will look natural to viewers. It happens in other mediums, too.
