i go on this board for like the 3rd time only to see people complaining about a ton of movies. So what movies does Holla Forums actually like? Or is nothing good until it's literally perfect? At least Holla Forums like shows from their childhood, no one on this board can agree on everything.
I swear someone's going to comment "None, all movies are horrible. I wish film had never been made. Fuck movies, fuck the human race."
None, all movies are horrible. I wish film had never been made. Fuck movies, fuck the human race.
Xavier Barnes
That's because they're all adult children. No wonder that's where tumblr and SA launch their chan takeover raids from.
Nolan Brown
fuck off to Holla Forumsncer faggot
Jason Taylor
I know they're adult children, a good chunk of Holla Forums is. I'm still asking what films you like not why Holla Forums is shitty.
Jordan Russell
OP, we are in what could be termed a VERY bad drought of movies. It isn't just us, the public hates everything too. We are just the vanguard of noticing everything sucks.
Arthouse movies are pretentious shit. Summer blockbusters are loud retarded shit. Creativity has been obliterated by corporate stupidity and progressive fanaticism. Humanity has been removed from the process.
In terms of old things, everyone has their own tastes, and movies is as varied a taste as you can get.
But if I were to take a stab at a movie everyone here loves, I'm pretty sure we all agree that Krull is a great movie.
Andrew Rogers
Going to a differtent board won't make you or me any less faggoty.
Christian Nguyen
None, all movies are horrible. I wish film had never been made. Fuck movies, fuck the human race.
Brody Jackson
I'm pretty sure someone else on the board also hates Krull.
Hunter Cruz
Only Holla Forums, /a/, /furry/, Holla Forums, and Holla Forums.
Jayden Lewis
Do you?
Dylan Barnes
Only what? Only those boards are shit? Because like I said before, it's the people not the topic although, some board might attract more degenerates than others.
Dominic Murphy
No.
Gabriel Foster
Those are the boards with adult children.
Also there have been maybe a handful of movies made since 2005 that weren't complete and utter shit.
Ryder King
They're the one's with the most retards yes, let's just call them retards, it's simpler than adult children.
Also what movies did you like that were made from since 2005?
I've yet to see any other film other than Krull. The rest of this chain is just explaining the obvious (which is that /a/,Holla Forums,Holla Forums are shit boards.)
Thomas Stewart
It's worth looking into foreign films if you want anything new. I recently watched the World of Kanako and Confessions by Tetsuya Nakishima.
They're completely different from Hollywood films, but they're a blend of art house and exploitation film. Editing is fast-paced, but it blends with the chaotic nature of the plot. They're surprisingly written well too.
Nolan Gomez
What are they about?
Angel Allen
I'll make sure to watch World of Kanako, thanks for actually telling me what film you actually like.
Andrew Walker
I've never heard anyone talk shit about The Thing.
Chase Reyes
The World of Kanako revolves around a jaded former detective who lost all the status he has in the world, so he tries find his lost daughter in order to bond the separated family together again.
Confessions revolve around a female teacher who punishes two middle-school culprits for murdering her daughter.
Those descriptions don't give them too much justice. They sound generic and two-dimensional, but it unfolds differently. It's one of those films where each character isn't presented as a saint, but you can see where they all came from.
Jacob Reed
Wait they're Korean right?
Jason Gomez
Some of it is a tad dorky.
Levi Wilson
It was good. Could've done better on character depth. I'm sure someone also hates it though.
Dominic Phillips
They're Japanese films, but I don't watch a lot of films from that industry besides a few done by Takeshi Kitano and Sion Sono. You can watch them via a stream here.
No thanks, I already have WOK on hold. I thought Korea had a revenge fetish or something because Oldboy, and those two other revenge films and now this.
Nicholas Gonzalez
Oh yeah that was pretty good. It certainly was a Coen brothers film.
Oliver Reed
That's just Park Chan Wook. He's got a lot more pretty good films, nothing to do with the revenge trilogy other than overall quality.
Brayden Brooks
"A Better Tommorow" (by John Woo) apparently has a huge following in South Korea. It was a Hong Kong action film that had a revenge plotline, but it was done pretty well for it's time. It combined the editing of a Sam Peckinpah film with stuntwork.
Sebastian Brooks
THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY
Xavier Smith
I love Sergio Leone's cinematography and directing style in Once Upon a Time in the West. I need to watch your recommended film sometime soon.
In contrast with contemporary action film directors, his scenes are filmed with depth in mind. I don't know how to describe it.
Luke Russell

Once Upon a Time in the West came across as a "proto-good bad and ugly" to me, even though it came out later. Both really great films. The only bad thing I have to say about Once Upon a Time is there's not enough one-liners. Also LeonexMorricone master-race.
Grayson Green
I don't watch movies, I just come here to spam my youtube channels to get suckers to provide me revenue.
Jason Campbell
Dead Man
overrated heavyhanded shit
Ryan Anderson
How is it heavyhanded? It's a farce.
Landon Brooks
About an hour too long.
Nathaniel Brooks
Idiocracy
Hudson Evans
I genuinely distrust people that hate The Big Lebowski. It can be not your cup of tea but people that actively despise it seem to care more about appearing like a film snob than cinema. Usually folks that try to be snobs have garbage taste and dont understand things like mise en scene and think aetuer theory applies to nobody but tim burton and tarantino.
You all know 'that guy'
Nicholas Rogers
yeah well, that's just like your opinion, man
Ryan Harris
Fateful Findings.
Brandon Hall
pls, this entire site is a pretentious shitshow outside of maybe Holla Forums and Holla Forums. Those are legitimate shitshows full of faggots that lack anything resembling self-awareness.
Eli Rogers
YOU DON'T SAY?
Blake Howard
Oh you naive summer child. Just give yourself a few weeks of lurking and you'll see tons of criticism of that movie. Not all of it is legitimate, but some people will find legitimate flaws in that movie and make sure you'll never be able to enjoy it in the same way as when you first saw it. It's only a matter of time and shitposting.
Ian Torres
farces are pretty much heavyhanded by definition I can't think of a single farce that isn't shit tbh
Aaron Ortiz
Heat (1995) Dredd (2012)
Justin Martin
...
Dylan White
That was was good.
It was too long for me. It focused more on character and motivation before action.
Haven't seen it.
I've seen The Big Lebowski, it was good.
Fateful Findings was a fucking masterpiece,
Nice old meme friend.
Those were good too.
Never seen it. Was it any good?

I tried saying "I'm so Ok, I made a movie about it." but the only movie that came up with that title was a weird Indian porno.

good night infini/tv/
Joseph Davis
Night. I unironically just woke up.
Thomas King
I like tons of movies, I like more movies than I hate. It's just there's no reason to talk about shit three decades old, and I prefer to lurk anyway because my knowledge of movies isn't grand enough to participate yet. Also, I don't have any interest in watching modern movies.
My favorite movie is Flash Gordon.
Asher Nguyen
...
Adam Cooper
Good movies.
Gabriel Ward
Best explanation ever.
Nolan Perry
The best Queen song to the best movie ever. i'm drunk as fuck and thinking about just how innocent and pure and heroic the tale of flash gordon is is bringing tears to my eyes i couldn't even sit through forty seconds of the radio serial show for flash gordon when i tried a few years ago because it made me cry with happiness kids used to have stories of men with hearts pure as gold doing selfless acts and being loyal partners now the number one show on cartoon network is about alien manladies spazzing out on their periods
Jonathan Rogers
Agreed, society has degraded overtime. To be fair cartoons never really had those types of heroes. The main characters are either morons, assholes, or overtly annoying kids.
Austin Lewis
Yes, that's the mark of a good movie.
Michael Carter
I liked how that movie was pretty meta. It's as if the audience were Travis.
Evan Torres
None, all movies are horrible. I wish film had never been made. Fuck movies, fuck the human race

Dylan Ward
Trips confirm The Thing sucks and John Carpenter is a hack fraud.
Samuel Peterson
lol
yeah, the thing is a great movie
Juan Bell
Ben Hur and Chinatown are 10/10. Everything else there is just decent. Also, if you like the Magnificent Seven, check out Seven Samurai. It's better in every way, unless you hate slopes.
Joseph White
Trips don't lie: It's all ogre now. You lose. Your fedora-core reddit-tier taste has been devastated and there's no hope of recovery.
Grayson Lopez
The ratio was too much though. Seriously.
Those were also pretty good.
Hudson Butler
Marvellous film.
Thanks, mang.
I know. I've heard that the Magnificent Seven if anything sticks too closely to Seven Samurai's formula and doesn't have enough of a personality of its own independent from that movie. Guess I'll see for myself when I watch it. I just, for some reason, have kept putting it off for years.
I'd guess that most of us have movies we know we should have watched by now that we keep pushing back.
Adrian Stewart
Reminder that David Lynch movies are too redpilled for stormfags and force them to learn they're also degenerates.
Ayden Young
Walt is rolling in cryochamber.
Nolan Martinez
How so.
Gabriel Hughes
Are you shitting me. Twin Peaks raped stormfags. First lead them into a false sense of security of an idilic 50's like northwest town free of niggers, jews, and spics.
Then showed how still, the town hosted a prostitution and drug dealing ring, a high schooler was killed and raped by her own father who made a deal with a psycho demon to have the balls to buttfuck his daughter since 12.
The moral is "America was never great, well, it looked nicer and used to keep the dirty clothes inside the house."
It was realistic in the sense that at least the white people knows how to keep things visually cleaner than niggers or spics.
William Martinez
BOB was the jews user
Lincoln Butler
If this isn't bait then holy shit you're a moron.
Blake Fisher
Yeah right. Everything was fucking fine with Twin Peaks.
Caleb Brown
well, i give up i guess i can't argue with dat trips and dat time quads
Hunter Butler
No shit society is never perfect. Nothing is perfect. America always had and will have problems. All societies do. But it has the least problems. And I enjoy your prespective on Twin Peaks, but with all due respect: >>>Holla Forums
Jason Wilson

I haven't seen any of those, but I have seen La Jetee, which I think 12 Monkeys is based off of.
10/10
6/10
I posted a couple of these ITT already, but rate mine.
Dylan Gutierrez
I like the works of Doug Liman. Swingers, Go and The Bourne Identity are all great. Especially Go. Edge of Tomorrow is good too.
Weekend at Bernie's is funny. The sequel is funny too.
I like Star Wars. Empire Strikes Back is the best.
Watch Go, it's great.
Samuel Brown
...
Sebastian Allen
Fucking THIS He has bad and good movies but he always makes his own shit and is uncucked as shit.
Austin Cook
...
Austin Wright
Yeah it's basically the Terry Gilliam spin on La Jetee. I'd watch at least Primer and Children of Men out of that list.
Alexander Sanchez
You really enjoy the classics huh?
Hard to find a funny comedy sequel these days.
Luis Williams
Don't make me post a stupid Princess Bride meme.
Nolan Hughes
I like trash that's dumb enough to be entertaining yet obscure enough to be pretentious about.
Grayson Taylor
next you'll be spamming "goon" or (((cuckchan maymays)), newfriend.
Evan Martinez
He also voted for Reagan. He just votes for the ones that acts the least autistic.
Liam Bailey
The Holocaust didn't happen
Hudson Garcia
they're classics for a reason
Luis Perry
Good point,
Angel James
12 monkeys and primer are examples of time travel done right.
Daniel Bennett
I don't even know what I expected
Anyway Snowpiercer is still one of my favorite recently-released movies, even with all its flaws
Justin Parker
Probably my favorite movie at the time being, but I'm just starting my delve into some classics, so what do I know?
Ryan Bell
...
Adam Carter
Here's a list of good movies:
Chaos Theory, Fight Club, The Dark Knight, Memento, Cube 2 Hypercube, Timecrimes, Primer, Drive, Sherlock Holmes 1, Spiderman 2, Nightcrawler, Limitless, 50 First Dates, American Sniper, Oldboy, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Pirates of the Caribbean, Avatar, Spirited Away, The Best Offer, Groundhog day, Airplane, Tremors, American Psycho, Equilibrium, A Clockwork Orange, Taxi Driver, The Big Lebowski, Mad Max, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Terminal, Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, The Wedding Crashers, Rain Man, Phone Booth, The Wind Rises
Parker Anderson
god did I have a crush on SJP in that as a kid, holy shit
Lincoln Edwards
alright here's my list: >3. It Follows
I'm sure some of this will warrant some buttmad replies because a third of it is definitely not Holla Forums-approved like Nightcrawler, It Follows, and Coraline. Also feel free to recommend movies based on my tastes, favorite genre is thriller if it wasn't obvious and least favorite is comedy and romance.
Zachary Rivera
I just saw Green Room, this realistic violence freaks me out in a way that old violent movies didn't. And I'm old. I can't explain this shit. I could watch Mike Myers slice people up all day, but watching some cute girl get her throat torn out by dogs? Then this huge fucking close up on the wound? Damn. Makes me sick. I thought I was long desensitized to this shit.
David Wright

Dylan Roberts

Ayden Rodriguez
ISIS has way more hardcore shit
John Adams
You should definitely watch Blue Ruin as well, it's directed by the same dude and I think it's almost as good in most ways (a lot of people think BR is better). It doesn't have quite as much violence but it's still certainly there, and it's less horror and more depressing.
What was so bad about Snowpiercer that triggered you? It absolutely wasn't perfect, but it was a good action movie with well executed action scenes and a neat setting.
