I rewatched some parts of season 4 today and for some reason Tywin's death pisses me off the most. Like, Tyrion kills his own father for no reason at all in the show!

Tysha doesn't exist anymore and it isn't Tywin's fault Shae is a treasonous whore whom Tyrion just killed. Tyrion became the scapegoat in what was essentially a political farce played out between the houses Tyrell and Lannister, but Tywin even agreed to let him live. His death sentence was the result of him sperging out during the trial and not what Tywin had intended.

In the books Tyrion killing Tywin is a dramatic climax of the tragic conflict between father and son; in the show it's just stupid and doesn't make any sense at all.

Hodor, Bran, and Meera were in a temporal loop. Hodor couldn't hold the door before Bran warged him in the past and made him Hodor, because he would still be Willis, and that would alter history and create a paradox. Bran had to warg him in the past and make him Hodor before he could die as Hodor.

Well Bran was in the tree matrix at first, then he warged into Hodor IRL while still projecting into the past. They pulled him out of the trees while still plugged in, and he continued projecting. He only warged into Hodor because he could hear Meera shouting, so some of the sound from IRL was leaking into the dream. Maybe because he was projecting, his warg powers got mixed up between IRL Hodor and dream Hodor.

This is probably the real problem with the mechanics of that scene.

Yeah, I've watched the scene twice but I still have no idea what the fuck happened. Hodor gets warged and stops being passive but Bran doesn't seem to be the one to do it. Then you have the bit where young Hodor starts spazzing out, why did that happen? It's like Lindelof wrote the episode.

The implication is that Bran warged past hodor, but they didn't show him do it. It's like they were afraid people would hate Bran for fucking up a fat kid so they backed off on it.

It's a shame GRRM didn't get his version out first, since my guess is it will he a lot better.

I think Bran warged past Hodor and was sending him visions of the future. Hodor of the future was tarding out because he knew the time of the visions was coming, and when bran started warging them to past hodor, he remembered what he saw and did it.

Hodor had a fit with "Hold the Door" because he was being fed the visions of his own death holding the door, which obliterated his mind, and is why the tardout began as he was being torn to shreds in present time.

By beautiful I'm beautifully sad and disturbing. The way in which it was done was perfect. The fact that Hodor's entire life was set in motion by Bran and he ended up turning into Bran's slave near the end. With Bran literally assuming control of his body to do shit. Hodor is probably the most victimized person in the entire series.

If they do that I will just come up with a new and better ending. Might take a bit more time but it would be worth it.

I just noticed something. You know how Hodor has that scar on his head? I had always kind of assumed he got kicked by a horse or fell down some stairs and the head trauma tarded him up. But the flashbacks showed him clearly with the scar while he was still normal. Now makeup costs money, so why did they give Hodor a head scar if it was going to be irrelevant? Is it just a red herring?

Well hold on because I have a theory. Last episode hinted that Bran could affect the past because people in his green dreams could hear him. This episode confirmed it. Now that's clearly a huge deal and Bran will want to follow up on it. He'll want to try and understand this power. Before we continue, there's something else we learned from this episode - being affected by the green dreams is selective.

When Bran saw the Tower of Joy scene, this was harder to pick out, because although Howland Reed was also alive and present, he did not appear in any of the shots where Bran tries to speak to Ned. In the courtyard scene, however, we see that there are dozens of people standing around while Hodor has a seizure. None of them heard anything. As far as they know, Wyllas just had some kind of brain implosion.

Which brings me to the theory. The time-traveling green dream only affects certain people. In order for Wyllas to get mind-raped by Bran into becoming Hodor, he had to be one of these people. In order for Bran to survive and save the day, Hodor had to hold the door shut on the skellingtons while Meera booked it. In order for the kingdom to be saved, Bran had to survive to become the Three-Eyed Crow. All this means Wyllas needs to be receptive to the green dreams. The fate of the world depends upon it.

So why did Hodor have this scar? Because GRRM/D&D are not done with him. Bran is going to learn how the time travel works, and he will have to do… something… to Wyllas to make him respond to the green dreams. Remember, Bran "woke up" to his powers when Jaime pushed him out the window. Maybe all wargs need some similar near-death experience to awaken, and maybe you need to be a warg to hear someone through a green dream.g
