Russian revolution centennial

How does this board come to terms with the fact that this man only got as far he did due to the realpolitik of the German empire opportunistically trying to knock the Russian empire out of the game of world war I?

By engaging in realpolitik to opportunistically try and knock the NATO empire out of the game of the cold war

Wtf I hate communism now!

So which imperial power will you owe a debt of gratitude for your next revolution? Wall street financiers helped the Bolsheviks too what is UP with THAT anyway?🤔

THE BOURGEOISIE WILL SELL US THE ROPE WE WILL HANG HIM WITH
IT'S NOT HOW IT'S DONE, IT'S WHAT IS BEING DONE

Every successful revolution is a miracle: so many overdetermined parts have to be brought in the right constellation for it to be successful. The right people at the right time (and not just the famous faces, every member of the masses); the different facets of a crisis appearing in a specific order; the shifting of subjective positions, alliances, hostilities; not just the right polemics at the right time, but the wrong ones too; material and affectual shortages and abundances bringing about movements that are often contradictory; etc.

Focusing only one specific (albeit crucial) element renders this overdetermined field suspiciously easy to interpret – a typical mechanism of ideology. Since we don't have a peek into alternate historical timelines (a fiction, btw) the only thing we can do is try to comprehend said revolutionary conjuncure in its utmost complexity, trying to draw lines of necessary but locally limited causations.

A similar meqningless question could be asked: "how do u gommies deal w the fact that your succes hinged on Lenin not dying in 1905?" The materialist answer: stop pretending that anybody could move beyond wild ahistorical speculations.

TL;DR: read Althusser

...

Count on it.

As usual, no source is provided, besides the bolsheviks weren’t the only left-wing faction. Also just because you’re backed by someone doesn’t mean you owe them shit or are now obedient to them.

What about RojĐ°va?

Wall Street backed them after the war was nearly over because they wanted it to end as quickly as possible so that trade and access to Russia’s vast raw materials could resume.

Lend us some money pork, we'll pay you back in bullet fire

china probably. u mad?

How is Marx's progression of history correct if revolution always depends on an external capitalist financier with imperialist aims?

What about it?

The Germans only helped Lenin get to Russia, they didn’t help them win the war, and Wall Street only backed the Reds once their victory in the civil war was already certain.

How is it not correct?

Lel the revolution process started well before the 1st WW

Sell us the rope to hang them with etc.

It's supposed to be an uprising by the workers who have become ashamed of their material reality.

Well October was an uprising of the workers.
