Prominent Alt-Right Figures Feud in Aftermath of 'White Lives Matter' Rally

This is really hilarious and all, but we should really be examining these events from our various political perspectives.

I've been concerned lately, so maybe someone more knowledgeable than me could help me understand. I don't really know very much about post modernism, but as much as Holla Forums seems to hate it, they're still inundated in it. PM seems to be about de-contextualizing subjects in order to fit them into incongruous associations, which explains the combination of fascist reactionaries and the other various flavors of the alt right (otaku and other pop culture enthusiasts supporting the very people that would gas them for being degenerate etc).

If that is true, is it not possible that the various factions of the alt right might be able to forge a synthesis? If not now, in the future? Does the arcane mystery of Liberal Post Modernism possess such power?

No worries m8, thanks for asking. I took my Holla Forums shit very seriously, spending 10 hours a day at 4/pol/ and then 8/pol/ posting and lurking. I even read Mein Kampf and attended a local far right youth group's movie evening one time where I told them "hey guise I used to be an SJW" story, since I used to be a liberal activist before Holla Forumstardedness.

I didn't have a single moment where I decided to stop being a Holla Forums, it was a slow process where I got more and more into arguments with Holla Forumstards which made it unpleasant to browse Holla Forums too much. At first, my dislike for Trump and MGTOW movement aroused disagreements from other Holla Forumsyps, but then later I also discovered that Holla Forums feels like an endless Groundhog Day, where you have to tell the same fucking thing all over again, and people often are so paranoid and ignorant that it's very hard to explain them the most basic facts. I don't mean about economy or philosophy, but basic normie-tier knowledge they even cannot grasp.

Over time, this becomes too much. I just stopped browsing imageboards in overall, then I heard about Holla Forums and just decided to check out how a "commie version of Holla Forums" looks like. I lurked a bit, made few careless shitposts, and I got hooked by the information spread around here, and stayed. Now half a year later I feel so much different than about a year ago, back when I was a die-hard Holla Forumstard. You guys saved my life.

Sorry for a long post, I can't answer such questions in a short post, it's still kinda fresh for me to look back, maybe few years later I have everything clear and can give out shorter replies.

I made a similar transition from lolbert to socialist just out of a decent understanding of facts constantly denied and suppressed on Holla Forums. I increasingly believe that most Holla Forumsyps could be lefties if we could just break the echo chamber of paranoia and conspiracy.

Damn, this is basically the same story as mine with the only difference being the time frame (I started browsing here a year ago after being banned from Holla Forums because I was against Trump).

I used to hate those threads because it showed the dishonesty of Holla Forums. It would be 200-300+ posts of that yet if someone made a white sharia thread it would be spammed with "fuck off shill" to no end. Those white sharia people are crazy, but I'll give them some credit for at least being intellectually consistent.

A right winger brain is less capable of abstraction and empathy, thus they will always gravitate towards whatever ideology feeds them easily digestible conspiratorial think pieces that help them scapegoat what's wrong in the world into a non abstract entity they can comprehend. Things like modes of production literally mean nothing to them.

When Holla Forums talks about postmodernism what they really mean is critique. Since all their mythos and other traditional bullshit (i.e. spooks) was founded by le heroes of olde xD, any suggestion that morality, aesthetics, cultural norms, or any other ethos that deviates from this is some cultural marxist conspiracy (invented by the jews, of course). So in short, postmodernism is the boogeyman they've invented to help terminate any thoughts that criticize them or suggest their views might be wrong.

this is so true, there were some genuinely understanding people on Holla Forums but they always seemed to be in the wrong place. I think when Holla Forums goes out to shitpost or argue in Holla Forums, those are exactly the kind of people that lurk the thread and could be won over, or you could plant a seed of doubt in their mind

that is so strange, because incel shit is not even compatible with Holla Forums's supposed core values (saving the white race from deg3nerate jews). Holla Forums is like this small core of people on Holla Forums sometimes who criticize all the lefties from an armchair but when you ask them what to do, they tell you to do something that most normies already do because somehow, "accelerationism is only worthwhile pursuit according to muh 4D chess".

I know Holla Forums's understanding of the term is inaccurate at best, but most were still raised in Western countries where post modern thought dominates, doesn't it? I guess what I'm trying to ask is would it be possible for these disparate factions to somehow form a coherent front despite the particulars of their ideologies, like the Republicans did in the 70s and 80s?

In its most abstract, Postmodernism is really nothing more than an intellectual historical period spanning from (depending on who you ask) post world War one onwards, with its premier text being Heidegger's Being and Time. Aesthetically, the period ranges from around the 50s onward. The only thing Postmodernist things have in common is the critique of modernist philosophy from a subjective viewpoint, reacting against the objective rationalism of philosophers like Kant, Descartes (who many claim is the first modernist philosopher) and so on. Big Pomo philosophers tended to be Marxist, but I think it'd be unwise to call Marxism necessarily Postmodern given its materialist framework.

In art it has a lot to do with stuff like self awareness as a medium and its relationship to the audience and the act of engaging with art as a whole, often with motifs of irony, existential angst, etc. (see: Waiting for Godot, Gravity's Rainbow, 8 1/2, Rene Magritte)

Holla Forums basically uses it as a boogeyman term to discredit anything that's new and potentially left that they don't like. It helps that their patron pseudo intellectual daddy Peterson dramatically misunderstands all of it. We live in a Postmodern culture because late capitalism in large necessitated it, not because these theorists came about and decided to wreck everything.
