Did any country go full revisionist faster than fucking Vietnam? What an embarassment. All those shitty 3rd party manufacturers that run the Nike sweatshops and literal beggars on the street yet the Viet government still has the nerve to calm themselves socialist and fly the flag that Ho Chi Minh fought for.
Vietnam is like a parody of China.
Ryan Lee
The VC wasn't even socialist; they were just nationalists who used socialism as a vehicle for nationalism, similar to Stalin, Gaddafi, and the PFLP.
Landon Parker
where are the proofs
Benjamin Phillips
thank america and its allies for mercilessly destroying viet nam and any chance of socialism. they got what they wanted; stopped "the rot" from spreading
Jace Morales
this, Noam Chomsky is right, American won the Vietnam war.

How long did it take Deng after Mao died?
Dylan Moore
U mad?
Hunter Sanders
You're not worth anyone's time debating. But even assuming what you say to be true, it should still be disheartening for anyone to see another nation become a mindless subject of capital.
Jackson Allen
Ho wasn't a socialist. He originally appealed to the US for help.
Landon Phillips
this, all one-party authoritarians are our guys. also part of the reason bro chi minh was so eager to go to war with the south was so that he could wipe out the genetically inferior dark skinned cambos.
Jose Peterson
It's time to go back.
Jason Watson
the southern one looks more fuckable though
Joshua Ramirez
I went to school with a FOB Vietnamese guy who didn't speak a word of English except "wasteman" and "your mum". Lent him my copy of The Warriors for PSP and never got it back.
What a race of Untermensch-tier people.
Jayden Walker
That's cool, but it's not about that. It's about intelligence.
Angel Wilson
Got any facts to back that up?
Grayson Price
Pretty sure the Viet Cong's reasons for going to war weren't rooted in colourism, m8.

Is that just an out of context quote from The Path Which Led Me To Leninism?
>At first, patriotism, not yet communism, led me to have confidence in Lenin, in the Third International. Step by step, along the struggle, by studying Marxism-Leninism parallel with participation in practical activities, I gradually came upon the fact that only socialism and communism can liberate the oppressed nations and the working people throughout the world from slavery.
Chase Reyes
fucking lol, btfo.

To be fair, Vietnam had the equivalent of dozens of nuclear bombs dropped on it by the wars end and billions of liters actual poison dumped into it's ecosystem. I don't think socialism is really viable from within a smoldering crater.
Dylan Myers
Just read more theory dear user
The USSR was nearly destroyed by the civil war
Thomas Lopez
Why are you talking like a Nazi with that name and flag? People who post here are retarded, seriously.
Samuel Martinez
The Soviet Union was 8.65 million square miles compared to Vietnam's 127,881 m^2, and had more explosives dropped on it in a single day than were dropped in all of ww2. The circumstances are a little different I think.
Lincoln Ramirez
Most of the population was concentrated in the west and the overall infrastructure damage was comparable
reminder that the USSR really only healed itself when Stalin brute forced industrialization. Vietnam just started sucking Nike dick
Jordan Thompson
that's why the USSR wasn't socialists you idiot

A dirty secret most tankies will never touch is that the majority of "socialist" movements and groups in the Global South from the 20th century until now have been nationalist. Even militant leftist and environmentalist movements in Latin-Amerika are almost always spearheaded by indigenous peoples who see their connection to the land as not only physical (i.e. they rely on the land to live, eat, and so on) but also spiritual. Most "Islamic socialist" groups in the MENA always baptize figures like Ali (Muhammad's SIL) as "socialists" and you will be hard put to find a single group which elevates Capital above the Qur'an, or HistMat above Islamic ontology.
Robert Morris
disgusting as i thought
Michael White
Except you can have revolutionary religion, revolutionary tradition, etc.
Dylan Bell
The only issue is when these groups maintain the reactionary elements of their said cultures/religions (like gender/gender roles, authoritarian family structures), or become class-collaborationist. Most "Islamic socialist" groups fall into that camp, admittedly.
David Anderson
Kind of a silly statement, cosmology of the universe>arrangement of human affairs. The only way any given political ideology is able to assert itself among the religious (especially a religion like Islam or Confucianism that includes substantial amounts of legal code in its scripture) is by secularization among believers that whittles the religion away from any material elements, as in the case of modern "Christians".
Dominic Allen
Look who's talking
Dominic Perry
When and in what context did he say that? I know almost nothing about Pol Pot or the history of Cambodia.
Isaiah Hall
I never claimed religion and communism are incompatible, quite the opposite. But this should entail comrades return to religion/theology and ditch materialism for good (there really is no contradiction between idealism and materialism; if you believe something lies beyond your initial emotions or experience, you are an "idealist") if they wish to apply communism to peoples outside the secular West.
Leo Butler
get a load of this guy!
Isaiah Hughes
north Viet is cute.CUTE!

this tbh similar to how anti-colonial movements in the 19th century were liberal, they were socialist in the 20th Uncle Ho became a communist in France because no other political movement would support liberation of the colonies. Not saying its bad to support the movement that helps yourcause but they shouldn't really be thought of as particularly socialist in the strict sense.
Anthony Scott
Exactly. It's the same reason why you saw jihadi-communist alliances during decolonization struggles which (sadly) ended with comrades being denounced soon afterwards and exiled, imprisoned, or killed (secularism only seems nice when the other option is a foreign power). Something to keep in mind today.
Ryan Butler
they are both traps though
Charles Powell
The northern one is better tbh
Nicholas Peterson
At least someone agrees :)

Feel like I should apologize for being white and also Southern Vietnamese.
