Bordiga posting

That will just make people read less.

I don't know if we can, intellectualism is kind of frowned upon nowadays, especially because there's a lot of "smart" retards that like to correct people, act as if they were fucking Aristotle and in general be annoying pricks.
Plus a lot of people don't feel like it's worth the effort.

We need to discard the idea that everyone needs to read theory, yes it's important for leaders but in the 20th century had the average revolutionary read Kapital? Of course not. They were ordinary people no more intellectual than any other who saw that the communists were on their side.

Make self-depreciating jokes about reading and show qt girls reading.

Maybe not Capital because it is badly written but yes, many did read and the others were taught. This elitist meme of the ignorant prole who cannot understand the world they live in and has to be told what to do needs to go.

We need more reading groups. Reading theory alone can be isolating or lead to some kind of interpassivity. Reading and discussing theory together is invigorating and empowering.

That's what he's saying, you can understand the world without having read Le Great Classics.

I listen to audio books (or somtimes YouTube readings of Kapital) when gaming and stuff…

What if we supported lesser known ideologies (cybernetic socialism, communalism, autonomism, mutualism, third-world accelerationism…) in order to create more debates within the left?

Invite friends over, do a little drinking while reading and discussing shit, have fun.

Nah

Write cooler hipper theory.

stop writing fucking tomes

80 page limit. no exceptions.

...

Memes tbh. Short, intellectual but non-academic works like what Zero Books are doing is a good idea too. The problem is that it's an upstream battle, given that the West is enveloped in a deeply anti-intellectual culture.

I love it

I have a couple of suggestions, but you won't like them.

Push more recent books, most people don't want to read stuff from the 19 and early 20th century.

...

Also we should make sure everyone has a decent understanding of dialectics so we can bully the nerds who don't study Marx/Hegel

typical illiterate succdem, proly killed Rosa because he was too dumb to understand her

But recent books all speak the language of the Spectacle.

...

I'd argue that it wouldn't be effective to attempt to reach most people by relying on the notion they will read books. You can encourage it, of course.

People spend a much larger amount of their time on the internet than they used to. They primarily use social media and do things like watch youtube. This isn't regarding subscription entertainment services which are also largely where people spend their time because it is unlikely most of us can reach people through Netflix. So most people spend a lot of their time on social media and consume free media on websites like youtube, twitch, worldstar, whatever. If their eyes are there, that is where you should focus your efforts.

People are also very aware of big news items because of social media, and people do still have to do things like go to work or walk around in public. Educating people in real life is still an extremely lucrative way of spending the majority of your time, because while the internet can reach many more eyes than you could reach in real life, it is also lower effort for what is generally a thick barrier to further exposure. As in, you are one person in a swarm of social media data that gets drowned out unless you have a following or are lucky enough to get something to go viral. Even in the case that you have a large amount of followers, you're likely preaching to the choir. Additionally, having some content go viral seems almost like a lottery so attempting to manufacture that event could be a huge waste of time.

Much like in real life, when social media actually disseminates something other than a dog doing a cute thing, it is usually a big news item or sourced from some already high exposure or institutional entity. The primary purpose is discussion of the thing an already large group of people is aware of. So there is a bit of a catch-22 to the notion of using the internet to effectively reach large groups of people, the best way to do it is to already be relevant. As in, Bernie Sanders getting people to talk about socialism.

Point being, events and agitation in real life are still more likely to create the fuel for social media amplification. Then you can have content catered to that forum that tries to easily convey certain points of theory.

make a vaporwave subgenre out of it
or as the less memy answer would be: change the pop culture towards it by combining it with something easy that people like
take for example 50 shades of grey and how many fucking copys it sold. And i don´t think socialism at it´s core is so difficult and elitist that it´s ideas can´t be explained in a simpler form

The first step we should take is to kick A.W. off the board permanently.

Make all theory books look like pic related. Let everything be prefaced by the sniff man. The kids will love it.

How would that work, audiobooks with slowed down elevator music in the background?

Trump? lol (WRONG)

My answer: I think in part we want to believe people havent read what we have because they dont agree. In reality much of leftist theory is read by our opponents. Like any philosophy, what you find in the densest philosophy are topics that most people are well acquainted with. Its simply that the way out of whatever deadlock isn't clear. Theory and praxis must confirm each other and if reading theory is your praxis youre not doing the theory justice.

So, I think the question can be posed this way: what do we need to do to make people want to know where we got the idea? To that end my biggest pearls of wisdom are that were all complicit and moralizing is a cul de sac and we get nowhere by scapegoating individuals or groups, even arch capitalists. Instead of fighting bad tendencies we shoups encourage people's tendencies which are headed toward communism and do so explicitly. Millions were disappointed when Irma lost strength because the desire to see a disaster for capitalism is widespread if not omnipresent.

We need to hone our own theory and start groups that start small in order to prevent diluting the ideas to appeal to more people immediately. Then, we must come up with action which expresses what we really think, not what we think people are ready for. An awesome action undertaken by 1 or 6 people is superior to a pointless action taken by 50 or 500.

We also have to accept that putting ourselves out there is going to bring scrutiny and embrace that. We are afraid to stand out, to be accountable, and to assume responsibility for the fate of the world. Our ineffectiveness is directly tied to our hidden belief that we don't matter. But we do- it has never been easier for one individual to change history.

So yes, like others have said- write your own theory, because what we have so far is not enough. Condense and expand the best parts of what you have read. And then, find actions built off understanding and audacity that you can perform which will resonate with people. We need to get over our own desire to do nothing and identify based on the "different" thoughts we have while acting like everyone else.

Convince liberals Marx was a non-binary POC.

THIS. Also explain marxian theory with Game of Thrones metaphors.

when we're at it, let's try to convert Holla Forumsacks with jewish nigger quotes.

you jest, but where do you think the unironic nazbols come from?

Why should we? Book club leftism is no way to promote a movement.

After installing gentoo is pretty cool.

Well Bakunin and prouhon has nome Jewish Quotes, but they are anarchist so I don't know where Nazbols come from.

By posting more Chovy pics

get back to me when you've read A flow of funds analysis of the financial crisis Volume 1: Money, Credit and Sectoral Balance Sheets :^)

What’s that?

Hipster theory has existed forever.

That’s stupid however it can be said that the writhing style of a lot of theory is hard to follow. We should change that.

Schopenhauer’s theory is shit. Life isn’t an endless hole of suffering and there’s nothing wrong with having kids. it’s the philosophy of externally depressed teenagers.

Whenever anyone asks a question just say "read ", then act smug and superior if they complain about you being "unhelpful".

This is the sort of thing that people living comfortable lives and having happy childhood memories say.

Life can be an endless hole of suffering, and that is not a risk you should be taking with your children.

I do this literally every day. If you think you're a theory let, don't despair. Yes, it's hard, especially when no one in a group actually knows much of anything and comments are just 'I think…' The problem with hardcore theory is that someone has to be in the know in a true sense, not of just parroting, but of explaining the material so the less studied can grasp things. Basically, group composition matters, discussion matters, and someone knowing things to help lead the reading matters. Learning to ask things matters, learning material by thinking about it matters.

I don't run dogma camps, and no genuine theory group ever does. Theory reading is not to learn dogma, it is for your own benefit to grow as a thinker and human being.

So people who aren’t clinically depressed

If and only if your parents are shit at raising people. Which I intend not to be.

This statement alone proves you are entirely unprepared for the kinds of problems a child can have. Certain psychological abnormalities can absolutely fuck your life over and crush every dream you ever had, and there's absolutely nothing a parent can do to prevent it because at the end of the day the child still has to live in human society. Also, I sincerely hope you're not one of the morons who believes that every psychological abnormality can be prevented by good parenting. Not that you'd have a fucking clue what a good parent looks like.

If nothing else, please screencap your post and frame it so you can have a bitter laugh at your own ignorance 30 years from now.

If you want to fuck with them submit stuff about Max Sterner being a Nazi. canarymission.org/submissions/

...

free audiobooks

the modern worker simply doesn't have time to cozy up on an armchair and read a fucking shitload of theory and act smug about doing nothing while living off NEETbux and autismdollars

wrong thread dummy

This is why your ideology is shit, you wast time reading absolute trash like this.

Rly tho, that's why you get drunk with comrades to read him.

We should create a website to index all the good leftists audiobooks.

Check this out: >>>/cute/4781

Nazbol memes are never out of place

It's not necessarily a hard-limit, but it's about the limit for looking at something and going "Well, even if this isn't very good it'll take like an hour to read"
Specifically Capitalist Realism comes to mind, because it was very good and within that limit. Length is just as important as style. When you see a book shoot over 300ish pages, it suddenly becomes very noticeable that it's going to take some level of commitment to read with no certainty you'll get anything out of it at the end.

stupid.
#1 your kid could get cancer or something and live a life of constant pain and suffering before dying.
#2 your kid could be kidnapped by the #pizzagate monster under the bed
#3 your kid could take advantage of free will and autonomy to make themselves unhappy inadvertently by doing something stupid like masking their high functioning autism so well that it's only noticed in their mid-20s long after it's too late to actually intervene, condemning them to a life of internet pedantry and shit fanfiction, and there's nothing you can do about it.

ok, dad.

1. Unlikely
2. Unlikely
3. Then they should take personal responsibility

I'd tell you to try harder but I don't think that's possible for a succdem.

By proving it helps in internet arguments with intellectualy lazy youtube reactionaries and liberals.

3. i don't see a problem, autonomy takes precedence, as long as they are not forced people can be unhappy and there is nothing wrong with that. maybe they'll get off their ass and take initiative instead of complaining they weren't given specific instructions how to breathe

Freedom is taken, not given.

1. Doesn't matter, it's possible. "If and only if" is wrong.
2. Doesn't matter, it's possible. "If and only if" is wrong.
3. Who is "they" in this context? (both answers are stupid but I'm interested.)

imagine being this mad about someone not liking your tomes.

The problem is that it happens regardless of parenting quality and they wind up miserable thanks to factors beyond their practical power. They suffer as a result of the decision to birth them. :^)

And, you think the answer to a miserable childhood is bitching to your mom about it? People with happy childhood get pwned sooner or later, just like anyone else. Those with miserable childhood have more time to learn from the pain and also learn to overcome unfair obstacles later. North Koreans had all their cities leveled to the ground in 50's and now they have checkmated global empire in contest of firepower.

Nobody's talking about an "answer" to the miserable childhoods of the living. They're talking about how you avoid misery, and the only way to avoid misery is to avoid existing in the first place.

Then don't breed. But don't force others not to.

Then suffer. But don't force others to by giving birth to them.

If I ever consciously make that kind of decision it will be only if I am sufficiently satisfied by preventive measures I took so that my child would not lead a life of misery. Ultimately it's always a gamble, and I'm not such a bleeding heart as to kill myself over a mistake.

Nobody's talking about forcing anyone.
Actually implicitly I regularly do as part of the general suggestion we should purge all discussion of sex - starting with sexual free market socdem.

Each life is a life of misery. This is axiomatic.

In life you have to take risks, and that’s ok.

It's pure ideology. Suffering calculus is not sufficient groung for ethics, it's something that happens and ethics is about the actions taken consciously.

let’s be honest that was you two months ago.

You can take risks of your life, but not that of the others. Reproducing is gambling with the life of someone else.

No, it isn't. It's implied responsibility.

That's spooked as fuck, please grow up and stop clinging to your childish delusions.

If you don’t reproduce then instead of a gamble where they might have a good life. They’ll NEVER have a good life. I’m glad my parents had me and so are most people.

First we must make reading hip and cool

Reading Rainbow

Reading Rainbow except its theory

This is literally stefan tier thinking. You should really stop embarrassing yourself…

...

The thing is if you don’t gamble you still have a life. If you aren’t born you have nothing.

If you aren't born you can't miss not being born because you are not.

Thanks anzioposter

Over 90% of the time life>nothing

life isn’t suffering.

having nothing is better than having something bad.

stop taking heroin

Actually it would be better to be nothing. Things exist by mistake.

The word bad is subjective. It can only be compared to what is good in life. As such nothing is worse then “bad.”

Stop being a depressed rosa killer.

stupid

Says the guy who thinks life is immoral.

Arthur was a mistake.

Arthur?

Are you referring to Schopenhauer?

Yes of course. I think I've overdone on the simulacrum.

bump

But if everyone talks about books he never read, how can I pretend to be cooler and hipper than them?

Bump

Put theory in manga form with cute japanese catgirls

How do we do this?

it's simple, we make the communist manifesto as read by anime girls :^)

Stalin memes

Bump again

And again!

Have cool people as our representatives. They have to be at least some combination of charismatic, good looking, principled, well known or intelligent.
The traits can be as little as two but it should never be just one.

Is this the guy that ruins everything?

Wrong.

By not using it as an excuse to post your dumb anime garbage

1. read theory.
2. be a living embodiment of how cool reading is.

This is an imageboard, you don't need an excuse to post anime.
