China Expected to Amend Its Constitution, Further “Sinicization of Marxism”
The Communist Party of China is expected to amend its constitution in October. The move will likely further cement President Xi Jinping's crackdown on Christian churches in his country.
According to the state-run Xinhua News Agency, the Communist Party of China is now expected to amend its constitution at the 19th National Congress beginning in October. The report states the CPC Central Committee’s Political Bureau deliberated Monday over a draft amendment during a meeting chaired by President Xi Jinping, who also serves as general secretary of the party’s ruling body. The goal is further “sinicization of Marxism,” which in recent years has included a major crackdown on the Christian church in the country. Xinhua reports:
The Chinese constitution was last amended in 2012.
If I was the CPC, I'd import Southern Baptists by the boatload. The Chinese would be classcucked for the next century at least.

It probably has more to do with cracking down on Islam to pacify the Uyghurs. Presumably any amendments that allow a crackdown on Christianity would also allow the same for Islam.
Connor Evans
Wish they'd crack down on all the hocus pocus superstitious bullshit that is the source of half the world's endangered species exploitation.
In Daoism, which is associated with Chinese Medicine, people that use endangered animal body parts are excommunicated. So they at least recognize the issue. This makes sense of course: Daoism, being about being in harmony, wouldn't want to see humanity destroying the natural world. This makes me wonder what the Daoists in China have to say about the terrible environmental degradation they have going on over there….

Cracking down on Muslims is a part of it, but also the west can exert a lot of influence through Christians.

The Chinese government has actually been making a real big turn around on climate change. Looking to replace all coal plants with nuclear and make all cars electric in the next couple decades.

Normally I’d support anti-christan policies, but the CPC’s”socialism with Chinese characteristics” is just worse then christianity. Seriously fuck revisionism.

Ah yes, all those religions and cults allowed throughout the Roman Empire were really just being horribly oppressed. In comes Christianity and Islam, mass oppression ensues.
Polytheism is inherently tolerant. Monotheism is not. Christianity was a mistake.

Allegedly.

Yeah, nothing quite says "tolerance" like widespread, institutionalized slavery as the basic mode of production and being killed in the most gratuitously horrific way the executioners could think up because you don't recognize the head of state as a living god.

Judging by this “Sinicization of Marxism” and the whole "Socialism with Chinese characteristics" thing, you'd think Chinese culture is pure distilled capitalism. Which is quite notable considering that they did not know what it was until like 200 years ago and Confucius hated merchants.
Connor Jenkins
Marxism is explicitly anti-nationalist and in favor of statelessness. In light of this, it seems to me like you're the one lacking an argument as to why Marxism would somehow mandate the creation of these nation-states in Tibet and Xinjiang.

Marxism is pro-nation-state haven’t you read theory.

Yeah, have to concur. China swings between Taoism and Confucianism, and they are currently in a nice long Confucian period.

Not all of us want to suppress your religion. In fact, a lot of us don't give a shit about it. I for one actually like Christianity when it's liberation theology.
