Democrats ready to lynch Bernie

hmmmm

Didn't I see this thread back in January?

Does the American electoral cycle ever stop? Holy fuck

Why do americans still do this

No

Because the traitors have made it so that only traitors can get elected

Dems are not smart people.

...

To be fair that's also because the republicans are corrupt as fuck and have gerrymandered every district as well as the electoral college. America is entirely a sham democracy at this point, if Venezuela or Iran had two presidents in the 21st century who both lost the popular vote the American media would never shut the fuck up about it.

protect brother Bernard at all costs

see, this is why so many leftists in the US were happy about Bernie, even though he is a social democrat, he's miles better than the current neo-liberal establishment that has a stranglehold on leftist dialogue in the states

The state of the Left in america.

Stop throwing chairs! Its her turn!

wew

They condemned the world to death by Trump, and still have the balls to call themselves victims.

Goddamn I really hate these people. I used to think that they were stupid because once the hysteria dies down they won't be able to find work in the future as a result of their insane ramblings in the past. Now it's obvious that the neoliberals have infinite resources to keep these shill writers employed forever.

I really, really struggle to wrap my head around the liberal thought process. After suffering the most humiliating defeat imaginable, you'd think they'd have learned something. Maybe I'm just not bourgeois enough to understand the logic behind doubling down on your original double down after already hitting 22.

You know, I really don't want to like Bernie, but I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the way he makes this moneyed bitch squawk.

Neither Iran nor Venezuela have presidential elections decided by seats or regional divisions.

And Iran doesn't really get that much attention from anyone in the Americas. Venezuela is in South America.

The American electoral college is not a popular vote system. It exists to prevent the populous states from dictating the the direction of the union.
All this muh popular vote bullshit is just damage control by a DNC with pathological entitlement
Everybody knew the rules when the game started and you lost.

They are incapable of learning. They've believed their own bullshit for so long that they can't conceive of doing anything different.

Beautiful. I don't know how anyone here doesn't like Bernie. Look at the tired cunts telling leftist to get in line. It's pathetic. They problem the whole time is the American voter or left leaning voter has been in line.

Soc dem or not you cant deny Bernie's usefulness as an agitator.

Anybody who considers themselves a democrat or thinks the party is redeemable is willfully stupid to the point of being an active danger to themselves and others, and wanting to put them in a gulag is fucking generous.

It's almost like they forgot who is supposed to be in charge. Now, granted, I don't believe we live in any kind of democracy, but this is really blatant. Well, I hope Trump gets a second term now. Dems ain't gonna end the capitalist mode of production anyway.

...

I looked it up, can't find anything. if this were true that would be hilarious.

imagine you live in wyoming and and your votes are weighed against california and new york, you would have zero representation and politicians would have no reason to listen to you.
it's not a perfect system but how else would you address this short of balkanization.

"It's not a perfect system" doesn't even begin to cover it.

Many states today have larger populations by themselves than the entire country did at the time the constitution was written. This means that more populous states basically have regions all their own and both urban and rural people in different lines of work.

But most states decide their electoral votes on a "winner take all" party format. This is something that was never outlined in the constitution, which was written before political parties even existed.

The number of electoral votes a state gets is based on the number of senators and representatives that state has. Representatives are voted on by districts. However, due to the "winner take all" system, the votes corresponding to those representatives always go to whichever party won the most votes statewide, even if it's almost split.

It's the opposite of representation, and just because some people in states with very few people have votes which count more than people in states with very many people it doesn't make it ok. It serves parties, not underrepresented groups.

And you know, I get the idea. But it doesn't work. Also, whether a sparse state wins or loses, they still have disproportionately weighted votes. A loss of 3 million votes paired with an electoral win would be considered anomalous under normal circumstances, but patterns also suggest it's actually part of party strategy.

Meanwhile, gerrymandering means that people within those states are further misrepresented in favor of parties - you'll note that the 2016 Republican victories in congress also came with fewer votes for their candidates.

Isn't that what the senate is for?

The "tyranny of the majority" defenders of the Electoral College fear has been successfully replaced by a "tyranny of the minority" - also known as tyranny. Ultimately, those small little states, in spite of the fact that their rocks and trees get more votes than a person in NY, benefit from a loss (but electoral win!) on a national level. Without most of the south to back them up when voting GOP, they'd still lose presidential elections. The idea that it's just a competition between some rural farmers and NY (which also has rural farmers, but if they vote Republican it still isn't counted thanks to "winner take all") is inaccurate.

The romans and any functioning long term voting system has been republics. Flat out democracies fail rapidly or turn into out-right commie hellholes like your beloved Venezuela.

Huehuehue

The Roman system was based around class, and even then their politics were dominated by aristocrats not unlike our own.

Also, VU is a Republic.

SJWs always double-down, user. And people here laughed last year when I told them socjus had infected the liberal gestalt at large.

Congrats you guys discovered the fundamental problems with democracy and federalism

it was in the emails I believe. During the election she avoided making too many media appearances because every time she appeared in public her approval rating went down

Yeah it was. Which makes it even funnier because they fucking knew this was the case and still bet on her.

S E E T H I N G

Berniebros MUST get in line.

THE FIRING LINE.

But where do they stand vis-a-vis techbros, manarchists and brocialists?

I remember a Bernie supporter telling me that their private Facebook groups used to be flooded with CP and they blamed Hilary supporters. I mentioned the altright, but they somehow found out it came from the Hillary camp. Mental stuff. All that spirit cooking, witchypoo pagan stuff with John Podesta was weird as well.

True but that's just rich elite people bullshit. Going to college with a bunch of NYC private school kids I've met the weird Warhol types who circle jerk over creepy artsy performance pieces.
I can see how people would be freaked out by that shit though. My mom thinks there all satanists also. They wish they were that cool

Instead if you live in California your vote counts for a quarter of what a wyoming voter counts for. (143000 in each electoral vote vs 500000 in each electoral vote)

fugget Bernie please burgers, do you really think he´d turn Americans a little bit social-democrat? fuggetaboutit

what a joke that Sanders guy is telling people he´s a "socialis.t" Hillary 2020 I´m I right :)
