But other things being equal, that man's likelihood of being right, which is still lower than 100%, is higher than that of someone who had less education, which is still higher than 0%.

The remedy to this is not to put less faith on the educated, but to bring as much education to as many people as possible. The point is to elevate man, not to cut him down.

College is literally just baby sitting time that professors have to deal with to gain access to money and tools they need for research.
I concede that the average person who goes to college is a bit more intelligent than those that don't. I just don't believe its college itself that grants that intelligence. The fact they can afford college means they had a childhood with unhindered development. Being baby-sat for 4 years by people who just want to write and sell textbooks to each other cannot have nearly the same effect as a good upbringing.
