I'm a natural ethicist. I think certain ethical systems like Stoicism and Buddhism naturally makes a person happier and more fulfilled because of such pro-social traits being evolutionarily advantageous. I think the reason people act unethically is because humans have evolved to have a greater instinct for self-preservation under difficult circumstances than for pro-social altruism, even though its only through altruism that humans can live well. The purpose of ethics is to realize that is it better to live well than to survive, and as such the rational thing is to do the ethical thing, even when the ethical thing can result in physical harm or worse chances of survival. In a sense, continually fighting against the aspect of nature that only cares about your survival, not your happiness.

It's been a while since I read up on the foundational crisis of mathematics, but I thought that formalism was pretty much entirely philosophically discredited with the proof of the incompleteness of arithmetic? Or did it just have to discard some of the weird predictions and thoughts that Hilbert had made?

lmao but I am a thiest, I believe in the Nondual Brahman. I think there are a lot of people who see God as something in religious 'belief' rather than a state to attain to. But you can attain God Consciousness in this lifetime through a disciplined mind. I accept the spook of a Soul or Atman, ｌｉｔｅｒａｌ myth believer: I take myth to be more real than our so called reality. Even though a nondualist myself I love dualist cults, there is something very genuine about people following that path, though they tend to repeat themselves and reaffirm their views constantly.
I feel like eastern traditions haven't been fully energized by the western disciples and 'made ours'. We kind of stopped at 'yoga' and that mostly became about women's asses in tight pants, which is almost the exact opposite of what you should be trying to fix your mind on in meditation.

The drawbacks have been just forget about having any kind of regular social life outside of /your view that youre supposed to have and everyone else needs to have/. I'm a hard determinist and passive nihilist. Agnostic. Morals are spooks, social ethical systems are not. I think metaphysics may be in some sense "real" but not something that we could ever understand or interact with (and thus useless). I have some "feelings" for other areas in philosophy but none of them are seriously fleshed out so I refuse to consider them parts of my own philosophy.
