Burger Education

I’m an american in high school and my History teacher is a tumblr liberal who thinks capitalism is good, but we need more female Pokies of Color. Any ways she gave us a pre-test on history and here was one of the questions.

The answer is D.

Are you still in high school OP?

Man I forgot how bad the tests were.

Cross it out and write "abolition of the value form through workers self management" and blow their fragile minds

Answer D and argue to hell and back. Try and make your teacher look a fool in front of the class.

This. Break out the theory and prove them wrong. D is clearly the closest actually correct answer.

Do it OP. Channel your inner sperg.

When movements want influence in schools, what they usually do is prepare a guideline for teachers, offer reading materials, and propose learning strategies. Something like this bullshit right here:

faminegenocide.com/resources/teachingkuryliw.html

So if you want to fight back at how shitty your educational system is, enter an active left-wing organization and propose a similar approach. If you can get people to work with you, you can develop togethr thematic units based on left-wing philosophy and the history of labour and socialist movements in your country.

And then start reaching out. Create a Facebook page for teachers who want their students to know this stuff, offer guidance and materials, help them explore the right mechanisms and norms to implement those in their classes, and so on.

In political and social sciences, communism (from Latin communis, "common, universal")[1][2] is the philosophical, social, political, and economic ideology and movement whose ultimate goal is the establishment of the communist society, which is a socioeconomic order structured upon the common ownership of the means of production and the absence of social classes, money,[3][4] and the state.[5][6]

the state.

If OP promises to record him BTFOing his teacher after getting his results back and being shown D is 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧wrong🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 we should work together on a cheat sheet for him if he agrees. It would be funny propaganda and would help him with the ladies, and would sock a liberal in their hypothetical face. A win win for everyone.

Can you imagine coming up to the teacher with a binder full of notes and starting to argue and looking up pre-written responses to everything the teacher says?

Answer is unironically D. Thats what communism really is about in the end, not state owns everything or make every equal memery

No, the way to go about it is when you get your results and your answer D is invalid you publicly call them out and start going through your cheat sheet as they try and rebuff you. Bonus points if they try and tell you to shut up and you call them authoritarian.

Even better, the "correct" answer is literally C.

Oh boy you must be the smartest guy on Holla Forums. That thought had never crossed the mind of anyone in this thread.
How do we get as smart as you? Do you have some jpgs to share? Perhaps a youtube link?

He pretty clearly meant that C was the answer that the teacher would mark as correct.

It was a pre-test which won’t be reviewed in class. However in the easy about natural reassures I wrote about the petrodollare and Saudi-American Imperialism as well as the 1954 Iranian Coup and the Islamic revolution.

I’m more focused right now on getting good grades.

Everyone pretty clear understood that from the moment the thread was posted.

No, dude, you don't get it.
"Pick C" is a burger meme. When you don't know the right answer on a test (for example SATs, SOLs, etc), you pick C. On top of everything else that is stupid about this question, the teacher made it a "pick C" question.

Except if you know anything about Marx then C would nonsensical due to the concept of the withering away of the state. C would mean capitalists want the withering away of private ownership.

As I said the teacher is obviously a lazy idiot and that the "correct" answer is C is only an added layer.

user, pick D and focus on pounding the barely legal pussy instead of fighting with tumblr teachers. It's a battle you can't win and you might as well have some fun before fully entering the hell that is proletarian life.

Since that sentence fragment took four citations to write, care to share those citations?

Right so force the teacher to prove capitalists want the withering away of private ownership using Engels as starting point where Communists want the withering away of the state.

Are you guys saying communism is light on state control?

Yes, that would be accurate.

Which do you think is bigger? The whole volume of USA laws and regulations or the USSR?

...

Given that communism and having a state are mutually exclusive, yeah, you're 100% correct congrats

This stuff is pretty much what got me through high school. I remember my teachers kinda saying this stuff and doing the whole "wink wink" routine. I think education in the Us is just a big scam. It must be done on purpose because they wouldnt have enough kids passing and then they'd actually have to do their fucking jobs and the elite can't have that.

4) E. none of the above, since Marx, one of the premier thinkers in communist theory, defined communism as stateless society.

Make you teacher eat shit for her liberal bullshit

You think high school is bad? I've seen American Poli Sci textbooks that define anarchy as "a state of lawlessness and disorder" and don't mention actual anarchists

Sorry, but communism's meaning went from "Stateless society" to "fuckhuge Stateless that owns everything". Thanks a lot, Russians!

D is the correct answer.

Glad to know that Nazbols are still in highschool.

citation needed with distinction of lower and higher stage communism

That's ridiculous. Now I know I will probably get called a faggot for this(and maybe rightly so), but I don't think you should do anything. I think the best course of action is to do nothing.
It is very risky. I do not know your classmates but likely they are very… interesting people with *incredibly* nuanced political opinions. It can be hard to talk around points like this easily without really triggering people. The moment you show an in depth understanding of a communist argument(even if you've only read the Manifesto) you sort of immediately show that you're a Socialist. That doesn't follow purely from logic, but I believe people imprint their own lack (societies lack?) of knowledge on Socialism and correctly assume that you must be a Socialist from there by contrasting themselves with your knowledge. I.E. I don't know about thai, I'm a capitalist. he knows about this, (and is specifically correcting information about why Communism isn't how they say), and thusly he is a Communist.
I'd just be careful and for sure wouldn't bring a binder to refer to. If you really want, memorize some arguments, read wage labor and capital at least a little, and I can practically guarantee you will be in a more knowledgable position.

Fucking tankies. A state cannot exist in a classless society marx wanted stateless society in all phases of communism. Just not the DOTP.

Or you can mention Engels talking about withering away of the state and let the teacher square the circle, basically act like you are dumb with just a bit more information then the teacher.

She probably doesn't know who Engel is. No one else does. "Hmm, I wonder why user knows about the commie man, *retarded gasp*".
Acting dumb is okay, but I really don't think it'd work.

Only power can answer power, and a people grow more powerful from being more organized, not less.

We need to combine Principles of Communism with The Art of War and The Prince, call it Socialism with a Human Face as a Party Mask.

I kinda agree. I was dumb enough to be the only person in a room to be anti-death penalty during debate in a southern high school.
All I accomplished was I made myself look like an idiot because I wasnt well read at the time and some girl stood up and had this breakdown over a stepfather that was on death row over killing someone she knew and just holy shit.
I want to spin the revolver and put the gun to my head every time I remember it. I feel like public school just isnt the place to spread the good word.

Just check out a book from the library and bring it to class and point to Engels acting confused. You have no brought in a source to the teachers complete lack of a source.

My teacher said lenin was for diactatorship and I did this with state and revolution. Teacher seemed confused.

That is a good outcome, by checking out a book from a library you can claim you have it for research for class and you are bringing it up because your research (you don't have to admit to have looking into Marxism prior) has brought up a contradiction with your notes.

You're a sweet, naive user. Unless you mean public libraties, and that still sets off the commie signal if you ask me.

This is what I'm talking about. It's alienating, frustrating, and the "pain" (revulsion?) it causes is palpable with the memory. It is an upsetting experience unless you distance yourself from your life at school, work, w/e. I don't advise that at all.

You don't have to go to school libraries, local libraries are fine and I have not found a teacher that would look down on any student doing research at city libraries.

But bringing a book about a "communist philosopher" is just not very tactful. It's pretty transparent that you have a special interest.

You are bringing in research for a class that brought up that topic, not different then bringing in a library book of Rome for a class on ancient civilizations. If you play it right you just come off as a student actually doing research as you are suppose to do in theory.

I really doubt how that will be seen with the stateam of burger education, but maybe I'm pleasantly wrong.

Well I haven't been in the educational system for decades but when I was they pushed the ideal student as one that went out and researched, wrote a paper and the teacher will then grade the student (really correcting the student if their research took them down the "wrong" path). Back then doing research alone wouldn't raise alarm bells, it was what your wrote that would.

Same. I literally graduated top of my class almost entirely based on have a good intuitive grasp of the psychology behind writing the questions.

That's the exact reason. They set up standardized tests to make sure that the kids are "well educated" and that it's "verifiable" and then the whole schoolyear is dedicated to maximizing the passing scores on those tests. Almost as much time is spent on test strategies as the actual material, and when you do the material it's only the bits of the subject that appear on the test. I had one teacher in highschool who bucked the trend though. He taught the subject thoroughly so we all understood it and his was the only non-smartypants class in the school where all the students passed the test. Really makes you think

The answer is D then add in a parentesis (within a commune) then make the prof look for the definition of communism in wikipedia and school that motherfucker for being so inept.

get off of chans youngling, only misery awaits you here

There was a question where they quoted Eagles on poor working conditions in factories, but it made it sound like was a Socdem.

Well, what is the relation of capitalism to private ownership? It is negation. Self-made businessmen are put under pressure to expand their business or vanish, they don't have enough money to do so even when their business goes well, so they have to get others with more money into it. The entrepreneur loses power to the rentier class. He then gets pushed out of his own business. Sad, but true. Capitalism has also pushed people out of their own land. So, the question is: What is communism the negation of?
According to Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, under communism people will obtain their consumption with labor notes, which are somewhat similar to money, but you can't obtain a factory with that (these are under public control) and hire people to work in these factories to suck their life out of them for your own gain. (This might sound like a crazy and impossible change, but remember that there was a time when you could legally buy slaves with money and abolishing that was thought of as a wild and utopian idea by many.) Does the usage of labor notes instead of normal money imply that there will be no supply-and-demand mechanism? Just beause the means of production aren't privately owned doesn't mean you can't track which products are more in demand than others and adjust to that. For a contemporary proposal of communist economic planning that makes use of this mechanism of supply and demand, see TaNS by Paul Cockshott and Allin Cottrell.
Communists are known for being more tolerant of people being gay, divorced, etc. They tend to have a very live-and-let-live attitude. For example, in today's Germany the far left is the current most opposed to internet surveillance.
The "withering away of the state" is a common phrase by communists when they describe the long-term development of their system. In communist analysis the state is the tool of the ruling class to dominate the rest of the population, communism is the destruction of class distinction, the negation of the state. The correct answer is C!
"Let us now picture to ourselves, by way of change, a community of free individuals, carrying on their work with the means of production in common (…) The life-process of society, which is based on the process of material production, does not strip off its mystical veil until it is treated as production by freely associated men, and is consciously regulated by them…" M&E
