Reminder: in North Korea given how often people are seen washing clothes on rivers, it's estimated that most of them don't even have running water, many don't even have electricity. If you look at the pic you posted, you can see they have sewage and electricity; the bottom 1% of South Korean society.

In capitalist countries, the bottom 1% of behavior is the bottom 1% in wealth, but they still have far more opportunities than 90% of people in North Korea. That's how dismal communism is. Being the top 30% of behavior in North Korea doesn't actually make you less poor, you still live in poverty.

Because I recently read this text on libcom that was an interview between a Marxist and a Korean member of a socialist organization that talked about how left communist theory, like how the Chuang people noted is also the case in China, is gaining more and more interest there (libcom.org/library/interview-situation-left-communism-today).

It prompted me to look for the group's website which I managed to find with my amateur knowledge of Korean (wspaper.org/) and looking around you can see anti-government articles, articles on current events like the activism against the US's THAAD installations, anti-capitalist perspectives, documenting the suppression of trade unions, of communist parties and groups, etc.

I had a friend of mine who's currently teaching English in Korea check and told me it isn't blocked there at all. Similar websites like UPP's website or Hankyoreh (the one you posted, which isn't necessarily socialist and more progressive liberal but anyways) also manage to stick around without much suppression. It seems what really gets suppressed is whatever is suspected of having ties to North Korea, and I mentioned how the UPP's website is still up but the party itself (left-progressivist) got banned and even suppressed by the State several times the second it tried to get a representative on the ballot (with a platform disavowing North Korea, quite ironically, lol).

I guess it's from thinking something along the lines of "if someone doesn't see the world my way, it must mean they're underdeveloped or inexperienced, and if that's the case they're likely children". It's a stupid fantasy folks of all ideologies seem to have, though Holla Forumstards also believe we're lazy fucks who want gov't gibs so they say extra retarded stuff.
