Because as usual when there is a political spinoff to a website the admins are biased towards the opinion of the original victim of the scandal and will use their new found position of power to enforce their opinions on the website without a hint of self awareness.

I keep hearing this, but I've never seen anyone get into it. Is it not profitable in that the ads served don't outweigh the cost of hosting? Or is it """not profitable""" in that google considers its ad services a completely separate entity to youtube, so it's technically a complete loss.

It isn't profitable in that ads don't cover all the server, staff, and other costs. That's why they launched youtube red. Then again this was a few years ago so maybe they are doing better now. Either way if even youtube has a tough time making money then I don't think it is possible for pootube.

It's the Ingsoc logo, but I never knew what the V stood for. I thought it was a conflation of VCheKa, a Five-Year Plan, 2 + 2 = 5, and the British V for Victory. Apparently it's from the movie, not the book, and I can't find an explanation for it anywhere.

Apparently there is maintenance going on on the site. Also PewTube has told to make a warning on this thread that people abusing scripts will be banned. So I think it would be easier just to shitpost leftist vids on PewTube rather than run scripts to trash the site.
