You act like DACA was built into the constitution. It was an illegal executive action by Obama that was never meant to be, and isn't sufficient for, serving the needs of immigrants. The Supreme Court has already cut down weaker versions of these types of laws before and they will most certainly do the same if/when DACA ever goes to the SC. Those 800,000 children are probably pretty smart so hopefully they can work towards fixing the problems in the country they're deported to and we can continue our work here. Undocumented migrants are treated as slave labor in this country, so no wonder the Democrats are up in arms.

You're not seeing this for the reality of its political context. These policies are unpopular, and coming from a president who lost the popular vote by 3 million. What we have is an incredible amount of rage at the system. If we act, we can take the left away from idpol and mobilize a group large enough to invade several of our subject nations at once before they're actually called to do just that in another imperialist war.

Picture it this way: a large group of the extremely poor are forced out of a building, become homeless, work for at or below minimum wage, are eventually forced out of the city because the people moving in don't like their faces.

Their exploiters are the problem. Why are legal citizens allowed to break the law and hire workers for less than minimum wage, yet those who accept the pay are penalized? Are they being bribed to come into the country?

the short version is that Obama basically handed out work permits to a particular class of undocumented migrants. This is illegal both because it selectively restricts/overrides Congressional law where it has no constitutional authority to, it also uses executive orders to bestow benefits (e.g. tax money and selective legal protection) to a criminal class which he also does not have the constitutional authority to do.

I was suggesting that refusal to act on these things effectively hands the monopoly to the Democrats, who are ineffectual and end up controlling the discussion and censoring and moderating public outrage. They can't help us, but they can lure people we could help away from the left as long as we're unwilling to address popular concerns and they're willing to pretend to address them.

Opting out of popular issues like this does not give Dems less power or control. It does the opposite. Issues like this stir up anger. That anger does not belong to the Democrats, it is the people's anger. The Democrats are buffoons, and when the actual left takes action for popular issues they gain support from the angry public who would otherwise only settle for the Dems.

IE if you want to gain momentum and take dominance away from Democrats, the least effective thing to do is respect "their" turf and let them gain as much as they want from stuff like this. Unless you have an actual ideological reason to want those immigrants out (which I can accept), your stance is probably counter-productive. If you want to opt out just because you expect liberals to opt in, don't complain when the working class goes to establishment parties again if you refuse to even have any involvement in their everyday political circumstances.
