How leftist is the economic structure of ISIS? It's kind of interesting when you consider that Islamic Jihadists are the most powerful anti-Globalization movement in the middle east and arguably the world.
Also what economic ideology does Sharia law fall most closely under?
This is an interesting idea for a thread, although I'm not sure what their economic policies are. They may not have any.
Likely true.

What the fuck is wrong with you guys? The question was legit
Jacob Perry
ISIS are just a bunch of insane traditionalists, their economic structure is archaic. ISIS has a slave-based economy with gold instead of fiat currency and that's literally only because of their fetish for anachronistic medieval Islam. I doubt however that even the ancient caliphates were in any way as barbaric and stupid as ISIS currently is.

Yes, ISIS is leftist because big gubermint=socialism and we should support them against American-Kurdish-Yazidi imperialism. Are you happy?
Looks like they didn't act much on how the local economy is run. They "simply" extract taxes (or outright loot resources) to support their crusade.
Evan Sanders
God you guys are so paranoid. I was just wondering if there were any informed people here about the traditional economic structures of Islamic states. Considering that people fighting to restore that are the most successful revolutionaries of the past 30 years, I figured it would be important to understand how the economies of the society they fight to create would function.
But clearly there isn't anyone here actually informed about the subject.

Wasn't Islam basically ancap at its height? Interference with the market was seen as blasphemy, as they believed ultimately god dictated the price of goods. The most esteemed position in society was that of the adventurer-trader, the ambition being to have adventures and make money in your youth then use it to settle down and enjoy your old age. Usury was forbade as they viewed profit as a reward for taking a risk, the government could not interfere in the market to uphold contracts so in order to enter into a business deal a person had to have a good reputation and be trustworthy, if they crossed someone or failed catastrophically their reputation - and therefore they themselves - were basically ruined.

Unless they strike the US..like ALqaeda did when they attacked an US aircraft carrier, embassies and the world trade center twice, i will always see ISIS for what it is: puppets to keep the masses with fear. Scuderi is a retard.

They literally sell little girls as """temporary marriage contracts""" Fuck off I'll include Jhihad as the Islamic State teaches into it. Extreme traditionalism, expansionism, and literal globalism (they want a one-world religion)
