I honestly don't know how much longer I stay. The better I get at the language the more alienated I feel. It's fine when you're first learning and you have a whole bunch of friends you can connect to on a very superficial level, but then you get better and better and find they still really have nothing to say. It's really disappointing; if I woke up fluent tomorrow there's still nobody I'd actually want to talk to.

I'm thinking it might be better to try a different Anglo country next. Wondering how easy it is to get employed in Australia/New Zealand.

Probably Norway. I live in Denmark and am half Norwegian (my mother is Norwegian). I also go camping and hiking a lot, so their laws regarding acces to land are very attractive to me (Freedom to roam).
Also, the language is easy for me.

Even a well organized socialist government, as India is at the federal level, would not get rid of this system with naive easyness. In fact the castes system has been (temporarily) incorpored into law under pression of the communists for the protection of the weakest communities.

Britain was only ever an empire because they managed to control strategic points like the Suez Canal and Horn of Africa while people were still limited to sea travel. The global elite have completely abandoned it. I fully expect Europe to stagnate. France, Germany, Britain will start to look like ex soviet countries as the money flows out and infrastructure starts to degrade. The Scandinavian countries will stagnate with low populations as brain drain draws the most intelligent to asian countries and maybe brazil and india who will be making huge profits eating up everything the US leaves open in the middle east and africa with its decline.

Brazil, India, Phillipines, Indonesia, these places wont be great to live in but along with China are going to be big players in the next century.
