The Internet is a Country

The Internet is an international nation. Facilitator of all online transactions. Owner of all website territories, Facebook alone housing 2 billion monthly users (of a global population of 7.4 billion people). All users are citizens of the International Nation of the Internet. Our country is a proud hacktivist nation built upon our founder Alan Turing's suffering and sacrifices for the greater good of a future we can believe in. We all deserve respect as official user citizens of the Internet and must seek representation throughout the world. Give me Internet or give me liberty; both are equals worthy of dying for.

The International Nation of the Internet is a Hacktivist Anarchy. Simply put, I propose we all grow a strong outspoken care for the Internet and proclaim ourselves official citizens of the Internet. Talk to friends and family about it. Spread propaganda related to the importance of Internet technology and culture. This is the first step, toward an international strengthening of freedom. Some day we will be able to take this to the next level with an Internet fully integrated with fully immersive virtual reality massive multiplayer website setups, which is a fancy way of saying we could all be able to gather on various websites yet feel as if we are physically there. We must prepare for this inevitable day by pursuing a strengthened care for our International Nation.

This you?

All Epyc Wynns are Epyc Wynn. So yes.

I agree.

Basing your national identity off servers containing information seems veeery spooky.

I'm all for global free acces to the internet as a right and it being free from any governments outside of things like child pornography and snuff movies, but calling yourself an internet citizen makes me cringe a little bit.

If calling yourself an Internet citizen makes you cringe, then I am not surprised. The world outside of the Internet will do everything in its power to make you feel like the Internet isn't real or worthy of taking seriously. It is the job of the people inside the world of the Internet to defy this cultural conditioning and stand up for their identity in the name of freedom and progress.

Freedom and progress? The only thing the internet showed is that there was no evolution in human thinking over the past 150 years.

You see what you look for. The Internet has archives of research and archives of memes. If you dislike the ignorance surrounding you, then look outside of it. There is always another lake of information to be swam.

can you give us some pointers?

I've given this topic some thought for a while now. I think you are right but that individuals cant force material conditions. Facebook has 2/7 billion people but its mostly the English speaking world. Its not currently profitable to have poor African and Asian workers on the first world social media so they are segregated. The post-millennials that are born into the age of the internet will do this for us. These international children will learn the dominant language of the internet for curiosities sake and to make friends online. Just like nerds with similar interests got together during the 90s on bbs and irc based on their interests the international proletariat will start recognizing eachother as peers.

The contradictions we are already beginning to see, like when an English speaking Scandinavian is horrified by a tweet with a picture of a US medical bill. People in the third world will start to demand what they see their first world peers getting on Facebook. Then we will see a trans-national arab-spring style revolution in places like malaysia, phillipines, nigeria, sudan from protests that come out of twitter.

Its a few decades out but I think its inevitable.

Based on my previous statement, I am going to respond with the assumption you want pointers on where to find information that would not easily be classified as ignorant in relation to this thread's topics of the Internet, Hacktivism, and Anarchy.

Anyone wanting to get into the core of Internet culture, Hacktivism or Anarchy should read The Hidden Wiki page containing a key short read known as 'The Matrix'. Additionally I strongly recommend viewing the various lists and links offered throughout that site, as they are highly informative: zqktlwi4fecvo6ri.onion.to/wiki/The_Matrix

Nothing I can list is more important than the above link's information.

From there, it is highly subjective what you use to become informed. I recommend not merely focusing single-mindedly on hacktivist/anarchist propaganda as it is often one-sided and depending on the source, flat out incorrect.

I use the RSS Feed Reader Chrome extension; yes I use Google Chrome because hiding your IP basically yells to the government LOOK AT ME MY IP IS BEING HIDDEN YOU SHOULD PUT ME ON AN INTELLIGENCE WATCH LIST IMMEDIATELY (evidence: goldenfrog.com/blog/myths-about-vpn-logging-and-anonymity) (also a friend of mine was temporarily on a watch list specifically because he once opened the Tor browser for an educational project) and my country is not a particularly oppressive one where it is absolutely necessary I hide myself. The RSS Feed Reader should be stocked with reliable news sources such as www.economist.com, hosted.ap.org, www.reuters.com, and feeds from pages you trust or need information from (I personally trust NPR, BBC, The Independent, and The Guardian).

Now assuming you want more targeted information specifically catered to hacktivists/anarchists, I VERY CASUALLY, recommend www.anonews.co, torrentfreak.com, and maybe some Wikileaks if you have lots of spare time and can tolerate that they are soft-handed in leaking Russia.

If you really really care about your Internet, you are going to inform yourself on the topic one way or another. I can only hope you are diligent in using trustworthy sources of quality information.

why is .onion ancap
why are cryptos ancap
is onion a CIA psyop?

To be clear, Anarcho-Capitalism isn't a joke like many people treat it -as long as you never apply it outside of the Internet.

.onion is used by anarcho-capitalism because it enables businesses to hide online without being attacked by a government.

Cryptocurrency is anarcho-capitalist in nature because you are able to use currency while preserving a strong level anonymity and freedom from the limitations of national currencies.

The Tor browser was originally created by the United States government. You could argue that Tor is being used as a means of easily tracking anyone suspicious by the logic of "if they are hiding their IP, then they are thus suspicious" though I would add, if everyone was doing that, then nobody would be suspicious. .onion links are however not a CIA psyop because the CIA is not actively creating .onion sites as a means of spreading propaganda. If anything, onion links are the opposite of what the CIA would want people using if they wanted successful psychological operations since their propaganda would be ignored because nobody would be using the mainstream websites which only exist outside the onion links.

horrible.

what are those symbols (that and from the OP)?
also thanks for this

You are more than welcome. I am always glad to spread important information.

A full in-depth symbolic explanation of the flag's direct and indirect symbolic meanings:

Green of progress, technology, and Hacktivism. Black of freedom, anonymity, and Anarchy. A canvas of technological progress held together by the black stripes of freedom and privacy. Question mark of anonymity. 'i' of information. WiFi symbol of wireless accessible Internet. When flipped the WiFi symbol doubles as a form of Illuminati pyramid, representing an elite few guiding the Internet's user-class citizens not through money or military force, but through spreading questions and information as the 'i' and '?' symbols denote. A hidden mischievous smile can be found by viewing the top-left 'i' and '?' as eyes/eyebrows, the nose as a clown-nose, and the top curve of the wifi symbol being a smile. This reflects the will of the Internet's users to take joy in the necessary ethical mischief of hacktivism in all its forms whether it involves humorous memes or mischievous codes. One can view the '?' as the upper part of a snake's mouth and the 'i' as the lower jaw, on top of the coils of a snake's body. Said snake is naturally like the 'Don't Tread On Me' flag from the historical story of the United States declaring itself independent from Britain and thus sparking a series of events which would promote freedom throughout the world. Like the snake, we must unify as fellow users of the Internet, or let it die at the hands of greed and oppression. Also related to this treading concept, the Internet symbol on the right can be viewed as the Wifi symbol walking on its legs which are the '?' symbol and the 'i' symbol. In this regard the WiFi would look like an ultra-buff upper body taking a stroll, conveying both the Internet's power and its freedom of navigation.

no i mean crypto-anarchists

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crypto-anarchism

the matrix and the hidden wiki are pro capitalism and espouse the wonders of capitalisms ability to rid the world of poverty

they think bitcoin and "freedom of information" is going to bring true capitalism to the third world thus ending exploitation.

they think they can do this by keeping encryption one step ahead of the NSA

it seems really fucking retarded as long as multinational capitalists still own your house, the last mile and every mile between you and every other computer. if things get serious they will just turn the internet off and declare cyber-martial-law.

if you want this to work you have to open source everything and people have to own the means of their own network. you would have to convince normies to set up a mesh network with their neighbors instead of paying a cable man to come out and hookup their tv. does your mesh network have HBO? what about NFL? Can I watch black people beat eachother in HD with the touch of a remote or do I have to search for it? my other hand is occupied by a burger i don't have time for this.

you know you don't have to put your email in the email field right? if not, you should probably lurkmoar

The Internet needs people to stand up for it. If Anonymous is not effectively doing so, then we the common users must band together as one unified user-class. Post the change you want to see.

I suppose it is somewhat implied, but by extension this would be a form of Transhumanist movement by transcending our governmental limitations through technological means. In other words, if you can't have good governments in the biological world, have good governments in the digital world instead.

Should be noted that while anarchy does work to a strong degree on the Internet since bans don't kill, punishments can be circumvented, and if one site is a problem you can always find another one, anarchy would not function ethically or effectively in the biological world. Anarchy strictly works in imagination-centric worlds such as the Internet or the mind. That all being said, anarchy is only one pillar of the Internet, the other being hacktivism. Hacktivism can be interpreted as a sense of need for online ethics which comes in the form of a mod-admin class being established on a website in order to hold other users accountable. This seems to defy anarchy, but does so in a grey area wherein only some websites use a hierarchy, only some websites enforce rules, and even if rules are enforced they are typically easy to circumvent. In short, anarchy can ultimately prevail against hacktivist hierarchies on websites if the anarchist is effective enough but at the same time, hacktivist hierarchies can also prevail against anarchists if the hacktivists are effective enough. However, the fact that both sides have fair opportunity to prevail against each other ensures that both hacktivism and anarchy are able to coexist online, even if they seem to be as complementary as they are conflicting.

By this logic Holla Forums can be viewed as a large district in the city of Holla Forums in the country of Internet.

Image unrelated.

Holla Forums what would your thoughts be on the Internet gaining UN recognition as a country?

In honesty this would be a hell of a lot better than the Anonymous movement. It died way too easily and wasn't prepared for a long-term life cycle.
