Google killed the original creative spirit of the site, and rolled the red carpet out for corporations to come in and pump their bullshit into the site, appealing to the lowest common denominator. Some of the site's users are complacent with this by now, but a lot of them hate it, even if they often can't find the words to express it. Their reaction to The Fine Brothers last year demonstrates this.
These are just a few reasons, it's a complex situation. It is a big site, after all.
