They're really impressive, and if nothing else make me interested in trying to put L4D2 - and by extension the source engine - to its limit and seeing if something enjoyable comes out of it.

Because they're recreations of much slower paced games, the feel is completely different, and - especially in the RE ones - if you miss something, which is very easy to do, it just slows right the heck down.

And because of how L4D2 handles death and party wipes, dying can be annoyingly punishing - Subtle, Lili and I ended up doing the forest temple to the point where we could probably speed-complete the first 3/4 of it.

Depending on the creator, and campaign, some of the things that were fine in the original games get kind of drawn out and less fun in the L4D2 campains - like the Poe Sisters in the forest temple, which are scripted things, probably would have been more fun if they scripted a SI to have some interesting gimick behind them, but as it was done it comes down to just camping the edge of the rooms and shooting at them when they appear - since they follow a distinct track and it's actually harder to get hit by them than it is to not.

Over all, I probably wouldn't recommend them for personal playing, but if you're streaming, recording, playing with friends, or just plain interested in seeing what people have done then it might be neat.
