MLs tend to know a lot about how the Soviet government and economy actually functioned, and thus make much more relevant criticisms of it. Almost every anti-USSR position relies on these very abstract and general descriptions like "state capitalism" "red bureaucracy" and expect everyone else to buy it. We need a much more detailed and historical analysis for any Marxist position, these generalizations are extremely old. The USSR offers very important lessons on sustaining large-scale attempts to overcome market exchange.

Assuming this includes Maotism, Black Panthers were obviously based and always will be. There is no denying that the populations of most of the areas worst effected by capitalism and imperialism have considered Leninism to be the ideology which will liberate them. This should most certainly be taken into account.

ML's and in particular Stalin tried to make society free from corruption and other useless cunts. It's a pity that afterwards the following USSR leaders stopped doing this, thus paving way for corrupted minded people use the communisty party to climb the social ladder like Gorbachev and Putin.
It'sindeed a very important lesson. It's always necessary to strike fear. Corrupted mind people must have fear, because as soon as they slip up…and eventually they will, the competent authorities will be there to ship them away to gulags where they belong.
I used to think this was wrong, but i understand it now! Stalin was indeed a man of great vision and we must learn with him that there's many people out there which simply can not be allowed to live among us, decent and honest hardworking people.

Marxist-Leninists are often the most vocal on the Left, and as history shows, they tend to get shit done. Unfortunately, Marxist-Leninist nations have also endured the most pressure from outside forces as history also shows, such as having to conform to global geopolitical norms (neoliberal market reforms in Soviet Union, Vietnam, Laos, China, Cuba attempting to open up the markets).
