If you lived during WW2, which country would you fight for and why ?
For me, I would fight for my country, Britain

did you just come home for dunkirk?
because I did

Going to see it tomorrow, hopefully it beats the Emoji Movie

I liked it tbh
I would fight for Norway but Britain is cool too

Germany

My country played a small role in WW2. We joined when it was safe and took too long to cross the Atlantic because we couldn't be bothered.

I like to think I'd be the sort of cool dude who'd join foreign legions in the Spanish civil war and WW2, and fight with european communists to make up for my own country's lack of involvement, but I'd probably be too busy with opium, morphine and gambling

None, of course. Why would I die for country?

I'd share a prison cell with Gramsci, shit would be cash.

Japan. So my imminent suicide would be seen as a heroic act instead of just an act of desperation.

They did do Kamikazes during WW2 so yeah

...

the labor movement in the US

I don't give a fuck about fascism and hey, they lost it in the end anyway so it's not like one dead would make a difference in the war. But it's just sad that soon my mom will open my room's door and see me hanging, if I had died in a war it would be a cool death instead.

Bump

What is this fucking fascist shit thread

Why the fuck is a self-proclaimed socialist board providing any answers besides the USSR

What if you don't kill yourself you pansy ass ni🅱🅱🅰

Chill with Bordiga under house arrest. Discuss theory. Maybe cuck some Italian soldiers.

how class cucked can you get?

I do believe Master Rothschild finds it most distasteful when you call him 'Porky'.

Is this a subtle kick at burger land?

Either for Tito, finland in the battle of kollaa harassing and sniping Bolsheviks in the northeren regions, or just be a anarchist in Germany killing Nazi's while helping the Jews escape.

The Warsaw uprising seems pretty hip.

did the USSR take foreign volunteers during WW2?

none

My country was bombed to pieces and conquered at the very start so I dunno. Dont wanna fight for the russians because they were fucking crazy and those deathtolls, so Ill probably just join the resistance or flee to england.

Yugoslavia. My Grandma says she's related to Tito.

None; I'd sign up neither for a particular bourgeois national capital or support the Manifesto of the Sixteen. I'd stand with the workers of the world against all imperialism.

Iceland seems like it would be a comparatively comfy time. Do a little bit of practice shooting with the police, meet a guy with a fleet of big gunboats, surrender and spend the rest of the war glowering at foreigners.

If I was British-by-default wouldn't mind doing a Harold Wilson and experiencing
(He volunteered and everything, but was sent to the civil service.)

tbh Albania because the USSR was hell on earth

No war but the class war.

whichever one i was born into and living in

...

No one because I'm a pussy, but Tito was a great guy and I'd probably go help the Yugoslavs out if anyone.

Fighting my homeland, France, of course, duh
Easier said than done, though

Indirectly, you could became partisan and go guerilla fighting until red army arrives. Most prominent nation in this was French, they died all over Europe. Basically replace inglorious bastards with French, but in not small amounts also other Europeans, and add, sadly, mostly bad ending and you have situation in third Reich during Second World War.

On what side?

IFRC

I would join the communist resistance brigades, like my great-grandfather did.

Bella Ciao for life.

...

I guess you critically support the Third Reich against Anglo-Soviet imperialism then?

Germany

Oh my god, dunkirk was incredible. I was expecting some brad pitt ww2 movie trash, but that was an /experience/

ew, gross

Edit: would fight like my great grandfather, Jewish Partisan, eventually Red Army

I would get rich off and laugh at the stupid goyim killing each other.

Switzerland

I don't know but i would have went to france and support the communist party after the war

We must defend the third reich against Anglo Imperialism!

spain
does the spanish civil war count?

It was the only good war movie that I had seen. Almost like a horror movie with the gunsounds being much louder than normally in movies and you never even seeing a German.

That was until Kenneth Branagh looked into the distance and heroic music started playing and it become just another big budget war movie full of ideology.

I'd fight for my country in the Winter War. Wouldn't like to fight for it in the Continuation War tho.

well, yeah the very end was meh, but repaired by the pilot's landing and subsequent capture. I loved the lack of dialogue though, It really didn't feel like a story or a quest or goal, but just an experience, just survival. plus, the music was great, blended with the sound effects quite well, and the artillery, rifle fire, and especially stukas sounded incredible. The whole first half was just constant dread and anxiety building up, fucking incredible

What was the historical reason for sending pretty much all of the 100 000 evacuated French troops back into France to fight for a week as it was clear that France's surrender was imminent? The troops didn't want to be away from homee for years or Britain couldn't house them?

NKFD

Liberate the Fatherland from fascist fags

Combination of both. Like it said in the movie, "we need our army" The English could not house or feed the french troops, and also the french wanted to try to make a breakout at dunkirk, and adding another 100000 troops to an already 400000 strong force of french and belgians holding a pocket against the sea was thought to be a good idea, as a breakout there could mean that more troops could be sent to land there, and they could restart the western front from scratch, invading from the northern shores of france (which they eventually did)

Free France and the Allies

I'm sorry, but I just would dodge the draft. One man isn't going to make a big difference in the war, but being dead or having PTSD is going to make a big difference in my life.

I'll rephrase that: since I'm a smart cookie I'd gladly work behind the lines cracking the Enigma code or some shit. But there's no way in hell I'd go into action as infantry/pilot/navy.
