My country played a small role in WW2. We joined when it was safe and took too long to cross the Atlantic because we couldn't be bothered.
I like to think I'd be the sort of cool dude who'd join foreign legions in the Spanish civil war and WW2, and fight with european communists to make up for my own country's lack of involvement, but I'd probably be too busy with opium, morphine and gambling
