Political discourse in Israel barely touches on economic aspects. no one really speaks about it but neolib propaganda is hot and heavy, with all major tv channels are strict adherents.
Most of the political discourse is a nationalistic one.
and positions critical of the government and hard Zionism are usually repressed and dismissed as anti-semitism and hate speech even when jews are the one who do the critiquing. even the most basic discourse of human rights.
the current government is really hard on blatant anti-democratic legislation (pdf attached is an overview of recent anti-democratic pieces of legislation that will make your eyes bleed)

leftism in israel is very very suppressed and alienated. but slowly civilian initiatives emerge that sometimes give a bit of hope. (again, they mostly deal with Israeli-Palestinian issues, but some proclaim to be socialistic) if you guys have time, read about Breaking The Silence, Taayush, Standing together and Rabbis for human rights. They are a few civil organizations that currently look pretty promising and causing the Right a very severe butthurt (especially Breaking the Silence which is a whistle-blowing organisation.)
