I often feel like shit having an okay life, when there's millions of people who go through unfathomably shitty lives and no one gives a damn. My reason for being a socialist is I want to end as much suffering for as many people as possible.

After seeing her posts, it's hard for me to hold on to the anger I feel. Anger at the people who locked her up in the first place, anger at Obama for not pardoning her, anger for all of the people still in prison, anger at all of the people who think she should never have been let go. I'm just relieved. I want everyone to be free.

I can't speak for her but I'd rather kill myself than go through the process of coming out while in prison, being a veteran and having half the country thinking you should be executed. She's incredibly strong for having gone through it at all, let alone while dealing with gender dysphoria and ridicule. To be fair, if you've been in prison, maybe your first worry after release isn't "oh no how horrible it was" but rather "fuck yes I can finally feel somewhat comfortable for a moment in a place that can be called a home, choose what food to eat and what to do in the evening".

The rape allegations on Assange will expire in like 2020 according to Swedish law, that is going to be what will "free" him of those. The charges can't be laid if they can't interview Assange, so as long as he can find asylum until then, it'll work out.
