I think you're right, a friend of mine told me a story about a young man he knew at Cambridge. He was about the same age and was allowed to study Theology at one of the colleges. Apparently it fucking ruined the poor guy, he had a breakdown and fell off the map.
I tend to feel sympathy for these people, there must be such an immense pressure from everyone around them and they're most likely extremely isolated. I don't know enough about the subject but I get the feeling that often times their psychological and social development is stunted to pour all of their energies into 'productive' faculties.
Seems like a sort of psychological alienation. The full range of this human being's emotions, ideas, passions, desires, fears, weaknesses, and strengths are all sacrificed for a single part of them. They're trapped in the prison of their genius and can never been seen as anything else by the people around them.

I switched my major 3 times, dropped out once and got on academic suspension again because I got depressed last fall and didn't even show up one final and didn't write my final project for another. I'm living at home which fucking sucks but I can still take around 3 or so classes while working. I love pure mathematics and pic related is my god but I doubt I can get into a high ranking grad school and get a comfy academic job. So I'm thinking of doing more applied math.

Whats Holla Forums's opinion on mathematical economics? I know very little about economics really. I feel like it is just medieval/catholic philosophy of our time, a sophisticated and complex sounding theory that ultimately is completely disconnect from the real world with no use except justification for the powers that be. Could it be any use to leftist? How can I best use my mathematical autism for leftist causes? I was a cs major at one point and wasn't really a big fan of coding although the mathematical/computational theory behind it can be interesting.

Not exactly. At the very minimum you need a SSN to vote in the U.S. (in states that don't require state issued photo ID). Illegals can SOMETIMES get an SSN through work-authorized immigration status but at that point you're not really illegal. If it expires or it's revoked for whatever reason you can't vote.

Yes, mostly the poor in general but in the case of North Carolina especially yes. The IDs were only part of it the DMV here is shit and it's especially troublesome to get an ID if you lack transportation or are a worker who literally can't spare the time it takes. On top of that, they had some really devious early voting and same day registration restrictions.

Let's just say I'm very familiar with the area and looking at a map of the district gerrymandering that literally surgically avoids black neighborhoods was almost laughable. To be fair, while I don't go in for the arguments of the person you're arguing with at all, understanding sex really isn't just a matter of intelligence or experience. For instance, I think it's *possible* (if unlikely) for a 10-year-old to be extremely intelligent in math and science without being exposed to the dose of hormones that's really necessary to begin to experience sex as an adult would. In this case it's probably irrelevant, because the graduate was 14, not 10. I also agree with the basic premise that sex is a primary human function whereas things like advanced math are not only more complex but less necessary for the average person.
