If we want to go on with this senseless EU project:
1. It is necessary because EU need a ruling class with true imperialistic mentality, the current German (Rhine valley) elite focus on an external policy based on the cost-benefit equation pursuing de-facto mercantilism and bringing all the nasty consequences of this policies, the long term of which we still have to experience.
2. It is unavoidable because of the exacerbating of social conflict at the national level and the diffusion of cultural memes which depict the national state as obsolete.
3. might be less dangerous than waiting for the next collision between US imperialism and German mercantilism
4. can be a platform for projection of European power and good auspices on the war torn other side of the Mediterranean sea
What is the solution? A different European union should be immediately founded by the states which do not agree with the current globalist agenda. A meme war need to be started in Italy to bring to power a real progressive government, to invert the globalist trend started with Aldo Moro homicide in 1978. A progressive government in Rome can be the only platform with the legacy of starting a true imperial Europe.
The progressive parties need to reorganized after the blow-back caused by the exclusion of Silvio Berlusconi from the national policy followed by the clash with banker Mario Draghi. By the way we need a leadership much stronger than him.
Then germany, austria, benelux and scandinavia would quit and form their own union.

The eu project makes sense. Having one currency in radically different economies doesn't.
You would think Italy would know this, what with their southern problem and all, but I guess we're not happy as a species if we don't keep making the same mistakes over and over and over and over and over again.
This is not a terrible idea btw. I don't see why the "PIGS" countries shouldn't go after their interests. France can be involved too, since they're only mitteleuropean geographically - they have more in common with south europe economically.

Trust me, Rome have a lot of problems, the mayor is right-wing populist and doesn't know to administer a city, is puppet of the political party. There have been big scandals on the mayor and for his ignorance Rome is becoming a third world country. Crime expands, and lately a wave of smoke due to a burning dump has invested in capital. I'm Italian, I'm not from Rome but I often go and really look like the third world.
