This is a thread for everyone who accepts that the USSR and pre-70s China and everything associated with them were the best socialism could achieve in the 20th century and thinks their models are still worth replicating today
Talk about Lenin, Stalin, Mao, the DPRK, imperialism etc
Anarchists not allowed, NazBols welcome but please try not to get too autistic
For fuck's sake, you don't have to be a tankie to like the USSR. I don't defend Stalin's or Mao's mistakes.
Christopher Perez
I would rather live in post Stalinist Russia then in Maoist China.
Titoist Yugoslavia still wins my heart

This. I cannot stress how much I agree with this enough.

But there was a better example of socialism in the 20th century.
Alexander Evans
*Edgy teenager voice* I was born in the wrong generation!
Ian Morales
Still dunno what "Titoism" is.
Ian Clark
Market socialism basically.
Joseph Cox
Capitalist-Socialism?
Elijah Gonzalez
Well what do you understand "capitalism" to mean?
In market socialism and in Yugoslavia the idea was that the workers would democratically self-manage their work places rather than be privately owned enterprises. Which seems antithetical to capitalism.
Cooper Hughes
Sounds like capitalism, but without usury or owning the means of production. Isn't that what all communist countries did during the time of Titoism though?
Caleb Wright
No, in most communist-led states they had planned economies which generally more resembled a top-down co-ordination of the economy than worker self-management.
In most of those countries it was more like the state was one massive communist-themed private enterprise with a monopoly on everything within their borders than the workers having any meaningful control.
Nicholas Cruz
I guess, but The Soviet Union managed to keep The Capitalist States Of Amerikkka at bay from an economic and military standpoint though and they even made it into space 4 times before the first American astronaut successfully left the planet and built the world's first operational space station along with the world's first satellite. Maybe central planning isn't so bad after all…
Hudson Hernandez
Yeah that's pretty cool and everything but you don't necessarily need to be socialist or empower your working class to do that.
I mean The British Empire was way more powerful than America and invented a bunch of stuff. That doesn't mean we should aim to replicate their system just because they were at one point economically and militarily more powerful than the United States.

Please don't put Mao on the same category as Stalin. Stalin was perfect and he dreamed of a USSR without corrupted minded people Mao was a son of a wealthy farmer who thought of himself as too good to work manual labour. Under normal circumstances it's peopel like Mao that should have been sent to die in the gulag first, because he was just a lazy ass bastard which dreamed of absolute power.
Caleb Martinez
I sorta agree with this. Mao, while a good military leader and a progressive revolutionary was a revisionist and Stalin called him a margarine communist for a reason. He believes the PRC had merely just gone through the stage of bourgeois revolution that it wasn't close to socialism. The whole history of Maoist China was an experiment in post-colonial, third world autism and how far it could go.

Anyone else here dig Hoxhaism? It's pretty cool, I like how it continues and develops the old Bolshevik line of Lenin and Stalin. Maoism and unironic tankieism never really did it for me, reading Stalin and Mao side-by-side are almost worlds apart that's why Maoists never really do it.
I really like Hoxha's analysis of Maoism btw after reading it a lot of the retardation I saw on reddit (which is infested by Maoism) made sense.
John Hernandez
If anybody cares we still got Holla Forums discord for coordination and theory learning. The administration is Marxist-Leninist anti-opportunist anti-revisionist. Just as you like. Join us. discord.gg/9sJ5QUJ

GUYS WE GOTTA GET FREEDOM AND LIBERATION FOR PEOPLETHAT IS INHERENTLY FORCIBLY TAKEN AWAY UNDER CAPITALISM GUYS LETS ACHIEVE THIS BY MAKING A WHOLE ECONOMIC AND GOVERNMENT SYSTEM WHERE FREEDOM AND LIBERATION ARE FORCIBLY DESTROYED
Disparaging the achievements and progressive effects of the Soviet Union and Maoist China only tells of poor knowledge of history and in some cases even orientalist attitudes. Fuck, i'm not even a Marxist-Leninist and don't think they got even close to socialism but there was a honest attempt. Hundreds of millions people were lifted from poverty and for the first time got access to universal education and healthcare.
Eli King
Beware of computers, they're bourgeois!
Dominic Roberts
Yeah, along with engineering, medicine and other trivialities. This is a toxic attitude which reveals your western muh privilege.

Under a proper Marxist-Leninist state, freedom and liberty would not be destroyed.

Yes, in a proper M-L state freedom and liberty wouldn't even exist to need to be destroyed.
