I wonder what drives them to pursue such futile, power-fantasy ridden efforts ever so often? Turning a century-old symbol with a massive historical baggage completely around is no easy task.

Perhaps one could trough some small effort introduce them to some of our concepts and ideas, to infest their mind-scape with the ever-gnawing spectre of Communism. I've never even heard that accusation. I thought it was always the Talmud that people had bones to pick with, and even then, a lot of that has been the result of aggresssive and deliberate cherry-picking and contextotomy. Kabbalah to me is this beautiful glue that brings all the bits and pieces of Judaism together, much like Marx's theories did to the field of political economy.

There is a difference between wildly spouting meaningless phrases and actually making critiques, even invalid ones. To be honest, your post is the first place I've ever heard of any alleged connections between kabbalah and satanism. As for the quote mining of the Talmud, a prime example would be Julius Streicher's Der Stürmer, which viciously used literally accurate, but context-devoid passages in order to allegedly validate the accusations leveled against the Jews by the Nazis.

As for zionism, my position is complex. The movement far predates fascism, so it can't really be said to derive from it. Early zionism also had a strong labor component. Remember that the movement took off after WWI, at the height of the nationalist craze. The idea that to be treated as a human being you had to belong to a nation-state was very strong, and many Jews throughout Europe were not considered citizens of the nations they resided in. My great-grandparent's passports did not say, "Austro-Hungarian", they said, "Hebrew". This was exactly the sort of thing Marx was railing against in On the Jewish Question.

Marx suggested to abolish this different status and integrate the Jews civilly and politically into the lands they resided in. But at the time, this seemed like a non-starter in much of Europe to the east of the Rhine. So the alternative was to build a nation-state of their own.

It was a fairly typical part of the European zeitgeist, and I think it was done with the best of intentions. But we all know what Christians say the road to hell is paved with.
