Of course it seems like there are a lot of muslims and arabs in Europe but in reality the only reason it looks like this is because they are distinct. Europe is very much dominated by white people so when you look around people from the middle east are very distinct compared to the rest of the population.

A few days back I was in the middle of my town. I started counting to see how many "foreigners" (people from other background than Danish) there were. Surprise surprise, I counted (I believe) 60 people in total and around 7 were of another ethnicity, 4 of them seemed to be friends or family.

Obviously that doesn't really count as a study but I've noticed how, if you start counting, there's actually fewer people with another ethnicity than you think.

ONR is a tiny-ass group that never had major influence in Polish life. Poland might be very reactionary (the village-reactionary kind) but there really is no widespread support for fascism, which sought to absolutely eradicate this nation. Also creasing at the Westerners who go all 'muh muslims' - who the fuck would want to actually emigrate to Poland? It's a transit country to the lands of milk and honey in the West. The main objections to 'wir schaffen das' is that it was a unilateral, unconsulted decision. You can stick 50k refugees here but they will jump the first chance they can to go the West.

The country right now is ruled by the supremely populist party, PiS, which essentially came into power on a welfare programme platform. The country is still struggling with the social divides that came after capitalism, with PiS designating itself as the poorer people's party The post-communist SLD were a very big force in the 90's and early 2000's, with their guy, Kwaśniewski, ruling as a pres for two terms (in contrast to Wałęsa who only managed one term). Miners protecting their wages is a very common feature here.

So with these examples you can see that there is a very strong undercurrent of social policy in Poland, which also coexists with vibrant reactionary tendencies.
