The clintons are crashing and burning if he took this opportunity to denounce them and trump then he could have worked towards real reform during trumps presidency. If hillary had won I guarentee you that not only would he lose more respect for ever endorsing her and that america would be even more aut-right than it is right now.

I think Bernie is a sweet guy and on the American political landscape he's the only person who cares about working people, but social democracy is insufficient and an actual barrier to left building. Bernie's policies are the only ones on the American political landscape that have workers in mind, but any gains won by social democracy are accepted by porky to save capitalism. The same thing happened with the New Deal - the labor movement and socialists were radicalizing and porky felt threatened, so FDR threw the working class a bone with a social safety net. The American left deescalated by accepting the New Deal as sufficient (and with violent suppression from the state). We cannot let that happen again.

I just hope we don't de-radicalize and turn into a nice liberal grandpa like Bernie and Chomsky.

Everyone could suddenly see it: the establishment had cheated a real progressive out of the race and would do nothing to pick up a serious progressive platform, ever. Bernie exposed this shit, and the democrats were too tone deaf and awful to try and fix themselves.

Next, Bernie tried to pass that bill for the importation of cheaper drugs from Canada, and the same thing happened: The liberal establishment tripped all over itself. The bill was shot down not by conservatives but by democrats on the big pharma payroll, and everyone could see it.

Though Bernie has now been reduced to being the democratic whipping boy, the party is not likely to recover anytime soon.

It is full of a lot of people like @girlziplocked, featured in user's post, who went a stupid rant that NYC is socialist because of it's public transportation. The fact that they have a need for a "left caucus" in their organization trying to push the DSA towards a more Marxist party. Also, they are not even a party at this point, so they need to reorganize into one.

Be aware of what's going on and know how to organize against it. Donate to causes every now and then. Support socialist governments. Buy Latin American cooperative coffee. Go to Rojava.
