this has some stuff on it, the entire thing is worth the read
It puts massive emphasis on the peasants to achieve socialist revolution rather than the working class, as China was essentially feudal. Obviously, there are barely any peasants in the West so it's kind of a pointless position to take. Also, Mao turned out to be an obscenely incompetent leader who caused a lot of deaths through sheer mismanagement and made a drastic turn towards the right in his later years to the point where he aligned with the USA against the USSR, so I'm suspicious of people who put too much faith in him.
Nevertheless, Mao's concept of Contradiction is interesting, his writings on guerilla warfare are excellent, and the concept of the Mass Line is a decent sort of guideline as to how to connect with local concerns.
fuck i'm an aut and didn;'t link it

it's not really on the theories of Maoism, but it does mention /some/ stuff to do with it in the modern day

This guy is an idiot but he makes a decent rundown of the basics
There are, but they're kinda marginal and irrelevant.
what is the deal with protracted people's war? is it a good strategy?
If you feel like waging decades of guerilla war in a large third world country, sure.
Well, they did win at the end.
has it ever failed tho?
Okay well first you take allllll the shit Marx said
And you dump it in the trash
But then you tack your name on to Marxism-Leninism, another ideology that has little to do with Marx
Only after the Soviets gave Mao the most industrialised region of China and all the left over jap weapons.
Most communist insurgencies in Latin America failed, only in Nicaragua and Cuba did they win because of the almost hilarious corruption and incompetence of their American-puppet regimes.
*left wing insurgencies
The sandanistas weren't communists.
In Chinese you read from right to left, so the actual name of the ideology is Maoism minus Leninism minus Marxism.
tbf the nationalists were getting shit loads of equipment from the americans on top of the lend lease stuff they hoarded while refusing to fight the japanese
The communists got the nationalist equipment anyway when they were able to convince soldiers to defect with basically no effort. Before Mao the situation was extremely bad for people.
True. The Chinese loved using American made tommy guns in korea.
...
There's actually several different kinds of Maoism.
Because the fruits of Maoist state capitalism on the Chinese psyche are even worse than those of Stalinism and you would want nothing to do with it if you spend more than a year in Mainland China.
Maoism is like a handbook on how to make a worse kind of porky.
bretty gud
not reading past this lol. guanxi is not even close to bribes
woops I did read past this and it turns out it's just massively racist
russia and china are oligarchical fascist states
it's not capitalism that creates fascism, it's socialism
neither of them are fascist.
I shouldn't be so shocked by how much underage "radical anarchists" actually follow state department lines about adversarial countries.
This. Mao is also studied in military schools for his guerrilla tactics.
