This is exactly what we should do. Set up enclaves in poor communities. People wont fight for change unless they know it works.

I think this is the best idea. The Left needs to be actually connected to working class communities, and needs to provide services especially when the state and the market cannot.

You guys need start doing things. You can write and whine all you want, but the other user was right; we need black panther style shit. We need leftists to start organizing to help poor communities. It's not hard; get some friends together and go help the homeless. Go to a ghetto and fix the road, the playground, offer to fix up houses, to build houses. Doing so will teach people about mutual aid. Doing this could make news, especially if you dress up in red and black and brand yourselves as anarchists and show them what its about.

One thing people need to stop saying is "you're going against your own interests". Who are you to say what someone's interest is? It's a very elitist view when you think about it. It presumes the dumb ignorant proles need someone to rule over them and tell them the right things to think.

Since most posters here are labour aristocrat or petite bourgeois, we should make clear the tradeoffs we make in our own liberation.
