I've been to Summer Breeze in southern Germany and some minor ones in the region since I grew up nearby. Other than that, I'm not too much of a festival enthusiast since I believe that some bands can only be enjoyed in clubs. It's a pretty amazing teen experience though.

Summer Breeze was really big five years ago (and with it came an astounding number of retards) but thinned out recently which can only be a good thing regarding its quality. They feature a lot of extreme underground bands as well.

I do go to "Under the Black Sun" this summer in Berlin though. It's in the woods, has a wooden stage and it's pure underground Black Metal. Pretty excited for that. They also don't give a shit about politics which is the best stance a venue should have regarding Black Metal.

Black Metal. I started listening to Classic Heavy Metal like Dio and Sabbath, then went through some Thrash Metal and MeloDeath phase and never stopped listening to Black Metal since then. My favourite bands are Weakling from the US and Mütiilation from France I'd say.

I absolutely loved Post Black Metal like Wolves in the Throne Room or Altar of Plagues when it became a thing, but hipster shitheads like Liturgy sort of ruined that for me. Recently I'm gravitating back to the kvlt faggotery like Funeral Mist. Still listening to Solstafir though.

Nothing wrong with playing classic Heavy Metal but there is a certain type of bands that labels itself as the trve Metal warriors and it's a circlejerk while their lyrics always go on about fire, dragons and vikings. It's trashy.

Grindcore is the one metal subgenre with the most radical leftists. (Brutal Truth, Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Wormrot). I guess this is partially because of it's roots in crust punk which is also a very left wing genre normally.

There's also plenty of left wing bm artists (like panopticon) and there's a good amount in this thread.

I know these next two genres are punk, but powerviolence is a genre I've seen attract people across the political spectrum, not just left wing for some reason even though it's basically more punk grindcore which is radically left.

Another punk genre related to grindcore would be screamo. Ever since the days of bands like Orchid there has been a far left influence in the music and it has become much much larger as time went on with modern bands. Unfortunately with the rise of the left influences in the genre it has attracted the more mainstream idpol obsessed crowd.
