Ask yourself one question for the answer to this for any country: is the United States socialist? The answer to that question is the same for your question.
unlikely
They seem to be the only guys that can take and keep territory though. At least in Southeast Asia I can see it making a comeback.

Your comment is full of self righteous tankie "anti"-"imperialism"
whats wrong with anti-imperialism?
pretty much all Asian communists are Maoists
what territory is owned by Maoists anywhere?
There is territory in the Philippines literally governed by Maoists. Same goes for India. And in Nepal it isn't even dual power, the only government is Maoist.
supporting a nationalist over a communist is not worthwhile
it doesn't matter if the communist has """western support""', which in the case of the NPA is clearly not true
Maoism is retarted in North America because it is unappealing to people and not suited to our material conditions. It makes sense to be a Maoist somewhere like India or the Philippines.
It's literally just supporting dictatorships like 95% of the time
Wait what the shit
What is this territory like? Is there socialism there? Is agriculture communalized?
what's a dictator
Waifu material right there
I don't really know the details. Obviously there isn't socialism, as they're poor peasants in the jungle. My guess is it's just like Mao's revolution, some system of redistributed personal plots. Arundhati Roy is a good read on Indian Maoists.
