Yes, I would be giant asshole, but that's protected by the government under freedom of speech (or should be). It's not like I am chasing her down in the street calling her Mrs. Smith or waking her up in the middle of the night with phone calls whispering something she doesn't want to hear. No, I don't. For that matter, I don't think it's ok to call somebody by their not preferred pronoun either. But that's the beauty of it; whether or not I think it's ok is irrelevant. If you call everybody by bitch pronouns or whatever, you are left with no friends. You will be punished for it, just not by the government. It's the same with regards to gender pronouns.

Peterson's problem with C-16 is almost certainly the fact that its making trans-gendered people a protected class. I personally think trans people are deluded but they're not hurting anyone (besides themselves) and they do face a lot of violence. Peterson is just a fucking right-wing zealot he tries to pull the I'm just a reasonable centrist angle but if you read/watch enough of his stuff his true nature shines through. I remember him claiming in an article that Women in the past never faced oppression because of their gender. A lot of modern day feminism is retarted but anyone who believes that is clearly fucked in the head.

As somebody who used to be a right-winger, I don't think that their passion for free speech is as much of a farce as most leftists think it is. Not too long ago, I was angry about all the deplatforming and protesting to stop right-wing speeches as all the other righties (I still am, but happen to believe in socialism now.) I don't think people on the right or left should be stopped from speaking on a public forum because of their beliefs. I listened to a lot of Ben Shapiro and he said "The only weapon the left has is to silence dissenting opinions." or something like that. And now that I'm on the left, I'd love nothing more than for us to prove him wrong. But then again I suppose it's hard for there not to be any vitriol in the current climate.

Though I think most more traditional conservatives (like Peterson) don't actually give a fuck about free speech and would happily outlaw blasphemy, advocating for communism, "degenerate" art and things like that. Then there are people like yababdabbadoppolis who don't actually care about free speech and are just provoking people for attention.
