Give me a good reason why I should become a socialist.
Currently working junior financial analyst making $55k a year. I am moderately satisfied with my current position.
So my question is: how would socialism improve upon my life? Will I be earning more than I am now? Will I get more time off? And how would these benefits be achieved?

A good reason? Morality

if you finance the movement, we just might not kill you for being a bro, when the revolution comes

My reason is
It doesn't matter whether you are the oppressor or oppressed, but that you want to end the cycle of oppression

You'd get guaranteed employment; you'd never have to live in fear of destitution
Guaranteed public healthcare, no fear of being bankrupted due to illness or injury
As for days off, depends on whether the syndicalists, social democrats or tankies are the ones in charge. But if the trade unionists have any say, more days off.
Probably won't get paid anymore, but no less either.

what keeps you from becoming a rapist?

Socialism is just a better way of organising things. What that way is,nobody really knows for sure. You don't even have to be a socialist.Being anticapitalist is enough to not be a classcuck imo
It's not even muh EBYBODY EQUAL meme :D :D.
Inequality will still exist.Just not the sort of inequality that will make you into a wageslave for the rest of your life.

If you're actually real and not just trolling, then the kinds of people who make these threads are always so short sighted. Capitalism always has periods of booms and busts, these are an inevitable part of the system. If a major economic crisis comes, or even one that only hits your sector of the market, then your company will have to start down sizing at the very least to keep afloat. Unless you're one of the bast damn junior financial analysts they have, your job is at risk of being of being cut. Or even worse, your company could go under, and then it doesn't matter how good you are at this job, you're out of the job. Now of course you can try to avoid this by climbing the latter really quickly and becoming a porky yourself, which would be very hard but not impossible. Even then though, you still can't escape the final collapse of capitalism. Capitalism is an economic system that is premised on infinite and constant expansion. We live on a world with finite resources. Sooner or later,in one way or another, the capitalist system will exhaust this planets resources, and when that happens, it doesn't matter how rich you are. You're going to die.

Yes you'll earn more, yes you'll get more time off. As well as that you will be in charge of your own working conditions and all the decisions your boss would make would instead by made by your coworkers. Morality has NO fucking part in it. None. What you do have though is selfishness, and socialism is selfish for the working man, it's only "selfless" and "benevolent" from the eyes of the wage slave renter/boss.
Levi Carter
This includes you of course. Democratically.

Without a boss stealing all that cash, he probably will. Assuming market socialism or mutualism or some shit that still has money.

WTF is wrong with you retards? Moralizing at people is a terrible way to convince them, almost as stupid as a deluded tranny making empty threats.
OP Socialism is absolutely in your self interest. Think about how much waste and how many pointless middle men there are in a market system. You could maintain your current standard of living while working 16-20 hours a week instead of 40. Meeting peoples basic needs would also lead to a much more civilized society with less crime, social pathology and greater social cohesion.
Socialism is absolutely in your self interest if your making 55k a year. The only people whose standard of living it would reduce are the types who own private islands, yachts etc.

What if this is just one of the regulars asking a rhetorical question?
See, shit like this is why we aren't accepted by the populace anymore. Unless we win over educated people with concrete reasoning (leave the sensationalism for the masses), the left is doomed in developed countries.
See, this guy's got the right idea.

If you're a good financial analyst, we'd probably need you working in the future planning department. Your pay might take a hit, but as pointed out the benefits would be better. Furthermore, as a state bureaucrat with union representation you'd basically have a dependable and solid career for the rest of your life and wouldn't have to worry about being downsized if you get fucked in a game of 49th-dimensional chess with some douchebag who bought a quantum computer specifically to fuck with your firm.
Socialism, in my view, should provide a pleasantly boring life following the revolution where you're satisfied, secure, and and free to do whatever you want within reason without fear of missing a midnight phone call from your boss telling you that he's flying out to Aruba before the SEC raids the offices and arrests you as a scapegoat for his tax fraud.
Of course, if you're a masochist and actually like job insecurity and constant terror, then you should still become a socialist, because there's nothing more scintillating than arming yourself against the entire panoply of state power and social opinion and robbing banks to fund the revolution. Also I guarantee you that if you become a dashing outlaw and shoot at cops you'd probably get major puss.
