first for shitty game

If I could I would ban you for posting HoI4.

try me

Well, today I learned to always turn off raiding in 1066 start in CK 2. Alp Arslan instead of actually fighting against Byzantines decided to turn 180 degrees and fucked off with 30k army to defeat a bunch of fucking raiders from northren sweden who landed near caspian sea. And of course meanwhile he was away he lost a shitton of warscore due to not controlling wargoal and because byzantines occupied his provinces. Fuck this game.

Why is Holocaust not mentioned at all in HoI, but Rape of Nanjing and Soviet purges are actual events?

Attached: oh gott mein sides.png (355x437, 240.68K)

The game only covers events that actually happened.

Attached: 1456186322906.jpg (247x255, 11.17K)

I decided to try out the Nippon mod for CK2. No idea what's going on.

Attached: Untitled-2.jpg (1920x1080, 1.08M)

What is wrong with their faces

The portraits are made in Japanese style of drawing.

Attached: 91d88e8014609a945a520e5aafddd5a0938537e0d8fe1be7cde0bb7316ff87bc.jpg (496x468, 114.88K)

That's a mod, right?

Attached: 1307218275898.png (515x417, 34.74K)

It's pretty cool but becomes a meme faster than Charlemagne, due to the duchy-level invasion casus bellis. At least you can become KIRISHITAN and holy war the fuck out of the nation for extra challange/fun.

Is this general moving to /vg/ as well or not? I want to know which board I have to check for my fill of autism.

So in my current game in ck2, as king of brittany I've conquered all dejure areas of france and aquitane(and aragon). If I create empire of francia, will the duchies in france and aquitane continue de jure drifting into brittany?

What kind of drama is going on now? Isn't /vg/ autistically moderated, but just on a slightly different spectrum? Half of the discussions that happen here might be considered non-vidya enough or something.

I don't know but it apparently it doesn't look good for generals.

Attached: Screenshot_20180317-075828~2.png (1080x171, 42.5K)

I love the portraits. Is it better than the mod which adds all of Asia?

I don't know, I haven't played it. But mods doesn't add anything to vanilla CK2. It is just Japan alone. Honestly my knowledge about pre-Meiji Japan is not big enough to be able to tell how well it is made, but I would guess they have been doing their homework. It is still only up to version 0.7 anyway. The Casus bellis are a lightly weird for me, but maybe because I never play non-European nations.

Why not just play Sengoku?

Underrated post.

Attached: ClipboardImage.png (999x1500, 1.69M)

New BO changed the rules I think and some drama moved a bunch of anons over.

Keep it here, there's no reason to move anyway.

>>>/vg/27503 well now I don't know what to think.

Yeh my gut says don't make a change when shit is working, I just want to know where to focus. Already half of the generals I frequent are moving or half-moving and it's confusing. I don't think many of them can survive splintering.

Something similar happened at Holla Forums quite recently too… Not sure what's up exactly, but it seems like another exodus is happening.

I'm staying where the bulk if anons are and right now that seems tp be Holla Forums. **Just promise to tell me if you fags leave, there are very few threads left on Holla Forums I even bother with.

You deserve to be left behind user.

Mark has never done anything to this thread and apart from the occasional cuckchan raid it's the same as it's always been.

Sorry I mostly just lurk.

No need to do stupid shit while this place is still more than workable for this thread. Please stop.

kaiserreich

Attached: 20180211010124_1.jpg (1280x800, 256.51K)

I was just worried I was out of the loop user. Much like this user I don't really come by that often any more though at least I can spoiler properly.

No bully.

This is starting to smell fishy

Attached: i_wonder_who.webm (480x480, 453.77K)

You'd be surprised how many people lurk threads like this user. I also sit and watch the STALKER thread for the fun anecdotes without being able to contribute anything.

Attached: A smelly smell that smells...smelly.mp4 (1920x1080, 4.9M)

Being unable to express myself like a non-autist is a large part of the reason why I don't post. I'll go back to lurking now because I've already done enough damage.

As long as you don't form the respective kingdoms, yes.

Actual /vg/ vol here I've just edited our meta thread to ask enthusiastic anons to try and avoid shitting up threads in this manner in future. If there are more issues you can always just ask there. Polite sage for being wildly off-topic.

and yet I bet you're spamming threads yourself about how we should all move to /vg/ because (((Mark))) gave you an ban for an hour that was extremely easy to avoid. I'm on to you shlomo.

Attached: jew_basic.jpg (220x220, 18.97K)

Fuck.

Attached: Untitled-4.jpg (1920x1080, 746K)

No user. You are the cancer.

that doesn't seem to be the case, the de jure drift stopped after I formed the empire. oh well. Hopefully I find a save before the forming of the empire.or aternatively, try to see if I can change the dejure stuff some other way

Okay, because I save scummed before starting the war I reloaded from there. I started again, this time for extorting tribute. I won even more easy this time. The Shogun is my tributary. How does shit even work, I have no idea at all any more.

Attached: Untitled-5.jpg (1920x1080, 1.31M)

Why not just play Sengoku Rance?

grand strats have had an active thread on Holla Forums for years now. I refuse to have it moved to a dead board

Because fuck you, niggers. I have actually already played them both before. Sengoku especially really is just CK2 with even less options anyway.

Yo user edits user, what is the current version of your mod and what version of HFM is it compatible with?
Also, how the fuck ado you guys manage to do so much with greece in so little time in vicky 2?
I cant even get all my cores until atleast late 19th century, i can never get an alliance with russia because they keep sphering turkey and being la-la homos with them.

Read his fucking pastebin.

Can anyone give me a link for this hoi4 mod?
>steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1324155103&searchtext=

I will never buy this meme game, yet this mod is only available on steam

I didnt even notice it was there, im clearly retarded.

SoY4 is closer to a visual novel than a wargame.

hearts-of-iron-4.smods.ru/?s=1324155103

For the future just copy the steam id of the mod into this site

seriously why are hoi4 modders such insufferable faggots? whats the problem with someone else uploading the mod, for pirate users to download AND still give them enough credit for their mod? Why are they so autistic and obnoxious?

For fucks sake. Stop playing the shitty game already.

Fucking paradox and they shitty design, depopulation is another chance bullshit like inventions in Victoria 2 where 20 years could pass before inventing something whit an 8% chance of being invented, also CK2 combat system makes no sense, all the unit attack is calculated as if they were all attacking at the same time.

Attached: ck2_1.png (1366x768, 1.7M)

The combat is absolutely fine for a grand strat. There's also literally nothing wrong with randomness.

you think greenskins are bad? Try starting as Lahmia or a night gobbo within the mountains, and duke it out with dwarves.
Seriously, if you want a bit of challenge, try playing as the red eye mountain tribe or however it's called and watch how your doomstack of gobbos folds like a house of cards while the bearded cunts keep shitting out an infinite stream of armies. Or go as Lahmia – queen of the vampires sounds easy enough, until you realise that gobbos could at least grow their levies quickly and build shit with prestige, as well as immediately culture convert or WAAAGH, but you have to wait forever and build expensive buildings, while getting units that are still worse than dorf units and in small numbers.

EvW when?

Never.

dude it works decently whit vanilla but awfull for warhammer, but a general problem is that flanks takes damage as a whole, for example in skirmish phase light infantry and archers should take extra damage from cavalry and heavy cavalry as a counter instead of doing all damage to the flank as a whole.

Sure ok user whatever you say.

it could be fixed whit the addition of magical units, magic units already have huge attack and defense stats and goblins in the tabletop have these totems that are like magic artillery

also pretty much this, i grew so tired of this paradox bullshit that i barely touch their games nowdays

...

It's still better than "spend X amount of mana to get claim on province Y in Z days" like in EU4. There are also other ways to get claims on counties. Jade Dragon added some new CBs which allow you to declare war on anybody for a cost of piety/prestige and gold.

or the chances could increase the more time the chancellor is under the fabricate claim task.

but in EU4, claims are not done by mana. You send a diplomat to build a spy network (at speed depending on numerous factors) and claim a province after the network is big enough. None of that costs mana

The whole point of CK2 is that you're supposed to get lots of scheme running in parallel so that something is always coming your way. You aren't supposed to wait for fabricated claims, you're supposed to have lots of children, lots of marriages, lots of claims to push. Granted you sort of have to wait for claims if you start out as a Count but it doesn't take that long to get more stuff going.

Also claims are pretty quick, just use the character finder to get a huge diplomacy guy.

Really? Did they changed that? I only played EU4 on release and I think it used mana but I might be wrong.

Modern EU4 is a completely different game from its original release.

Austria best Germany!

Attached: 1354307040713.png (800x600, 515.93K)

wew what happened to the rheinland?

Are you using the correct version of the mod with the correct version of the game in the correct mod folder?

Yes. I ran a 300 year game with almost no crashes. The default Americanist character also works fine.

Really?

Attached: 20180318151205_1.jpg (1920x1080, 636.85K)

Is that an unmodded game?

Only mod is Voltaire's Nightmare.

WEW

btw first two options make you lose mana, third has the option to lose 1 stability and gain 15 prestige.

I wonder why is there no mod like this for CK2. Mod centered only around HRE/Byzantium would be pretty cool.

I don't really like historical settings at all unfortunately, it has been the biggest obstruction to getting into this genre for me, I just can't force myself to care about a setting that doesn't interest me. Are there any Grand Strategy games out there with a more Sci-Fi/Space setting?

Attached: 8062d7f449bd6890e26d753d35819872c2976e86741323da94ddbf0351bfebe6.jpg (400x400, 12.11K)

Read the OP.

That's where the entire German army was while I overran the rest of the country with a handful of motorized divisions. I didn't have the strength to take it so I kept the area contained while the French did the heavy lifting. They dragged me into a war over Italy right afterwards so I had to hold the line on the Rhine for a few months while I built a real army.

Attached: aus2.png (1154x867, 659.38K)

git gud

Goblins/Orks (but mostly goblins because they suck) revolve heavily around getting a really fucking good leader and decking him out in magical equipment, giving massive bonuses everywhere and letting you stave off the infinite challenges to your rule. Once you get rolling though you have basically infinite prestige to spam buildings.

Lahmia gets huge amounts of gold from their sluts seducing foreign men. It is a complete pain in the ass to micro granted. IIRC the undead raising magic is a bit broken, so abuse that. Vampires can educate their commanders in necromancy and have free constant undead raising abilities going off for free during battles from their underlings.

I am trying to play geheimisnigger and the lag is horrendous. How do I make it move faster? Even Bloat&Taxes moves faster to me.

Better PC? What kind of question is even that.

There's submods to disable the new world/underworld.

Dwarves can't intermarry, men can intermarry with Elves, and Druedain for some reason, but anyone can intervene in a war if the defender is a Guardian of Middle Earth and the attacker is evil.

Isn't there "propose alliance" option when you have high mutual opinions with a leader? I think I saw something like that once.

Pay for a non shit computer.

Not him but i have a gud pc and newer parashit games like ck2 and eu4 always lag on my pc

Attached: 1501940303003.jpg (446x600, 29.43K)

are you sure you have a good one? My 4 year old, middle line notebook runs them both just fine.

it was high end when i bought it 5 or 4 years ago

So CWE's genocide mechanics got updated, you can now kill off 80% of your unaccepted pops every 10 years. So now you can get rid of subhumans ie niggers in South Africa, arabs/berbers in Algerie, serbs in Balkans, niggers and spics in USA, pakis and chinks in Canada, abbos in Australia, poles in Ostpreußen etc.

Migration mechanics are still broken with migration being directed to only one province in each state. Once that's fixed it'll be possible to actually have a well-populated French Algerie and such.

could those mechanics be used with other mods?

Easy copy-paste of the decision tbh.

What's CWE?

Cold War Enhancement, the successor mod to NWO. 1964 & 1992 starts.

Attached: v2_39.jpg (2560x1440, 750.99K)

*1946

Has anyone played as Chile in CWE?

Attached: ClipboardImage.png (1920x795 1.59 MB, 361.89K)

Oh, great. I love that mod (despite it horrendously bloating a game that can't make it to the end in vanilla). I'll have to get the update.

That would be great if the AI would ever let you marry a kid off to anyone who could possibly pass a claim without the planets having to align first.

Steppeniggers rolled over the Byzantines while the insane bogomilist Basileus was busy with alchemy (my Iberian sandnigger had a heroic adventure in Constantinople blowing up the imperial laboratory). Half a century later, the Vidin "Empire" remains tribal, though the ruler claims to be Greek despite looking like some tanned Finn.

Attached: eastern rome.png (678x512, 654.88K)

...

The bumfuck pasture of a county obviously was prestigeous enough to give name to the new successor of Roman Empire. I think I'll console command console the empire's name into Holy Pecheneg-Greek-Roman Empire.

Two legit question to the anons who keep shitting on Hoi 4: is it mainly because of Paradox's usual kikery of releasing early access version as "complete" game then jewing people 10-20$ "expansions" that include content which should have been included in the base game, or is it too casualized or what? And more importantly, what if any it did better than Hoi 3?

Personally I find it occasionally fun for completely ridiculous and unique alt-history scenarios it can deliver with non-historic mode & few mods enabled, though for "proper" WW2 simulator Hoi 3 is still far superior.

And lets be honest, its not like Hoi 3 was impossible to cheese with game-breaking shit like lightspeed naval movement & alignment abuse. If I had to pick something Hoi 4 did better than 3 its definitely adjusting the speed of the ships to something more realistic and preventing the alignment exploiting. Conquering the small & medium countries as democratically-aligned Finland around the world in 1937-1938 while Allies just watch and laugh is good for laugh, but despite its massive flaws at least that particular can of worms is impossible to pull of in Hoi 4. Not to say that it doesn't have just as bad or worse exploits which it does, but its not quite as bad some anons here make it out to be despite its severe flaws.

It's 50% casualized (gotta automate everything) and 50% broken (game mechanics that literally don't function and no one noticed until it was too late to fix).

That actually didn't happen in vanilla HoI3, Paradox just neutered the AI's diplomatic interactions because people complained about retarded shit like USA joining Comintern. Nowadays the latter is considered to be ebin memes that make the game better.

I just fucking noticed Bulgaria exists. So there are two Bulgarian countries.

No need to be so desperate, Johan.

Knyllla din pappa t: finnjävel :D:D:D: Leaving shitposting aside, do you have any more insights to offer or did cover your critique as well?

no, you need to have first a non-aggresion pact and aside from random events whit random kindoms, you can only make one trough royal marriage

if wild dunadeans (the evil ones that attacked Rohan) are evil the it can work out.

the map is just too big, same thing happened when in Paradox added Mali and India, might be that the engine isnt designed for so many stuff going on, now the added china and they dont even have access to the sea (no in the map), what's the fucking point?

what are the cons of genocide? you should get nomad radiers and complete anarchy in your colonies under genocide, also the risk of other great power snatching your region or colony because of humanitary bullshit (but it's vicky 2 i expect to not make any sense)

to get shekels from goyim

DDRJake was a good goyim today, now EU4 can sell DLC for at least another 5 years.

Attached: Everyone else has generic missions.png (5632x2048, 188.92K)

I haven't played E-Jew-4 since common sense since I didn't want to keep the díc train going. In its current state with all the dlc is it in an ok state? of course I'd be pirating what I wasn't good goyed out of already

Why?

Incas have 1 mission to build up to their force limit or something and when they do it they get claims on a 2 province minor. That's their whole mission tree other than generics.

How fucking lazy, as expected from paradox.
Both the incas and aztecs did interesting things, you could get some nice missions out of them.

What the fuck are they even getting paid for if they can't do this shit? I'd understand if it was just one guy, but it's a big fucking company and this is really basic shit. At least modders will make use of this, I guess.

The DCL's are awful, but the MEIOU mod actually went a long way and unfucked most of the things in the game. Or rather took the parashit DLC bullshit, threw most of it out the window, and used the framework provided to do something else entirely that actually isn't shit.

Of course, it's still MEIOU, so you need a pretty good CPU to run it at a reasonable pace.

Anyone have a link to Kaiserreich? I'm not enough of a good goy to actually buy modern Paradox games, and the Steam Workshop Downloader doesn't work.

Attached: 1462409561998.png (241x519, 66.76K)

Here you go friend, free of charge.

But I've already played that one.

Attached: DH.png (445x124, 65.89K)

They've only sold 2 DLCs for the new world, surely you understand that they need another $10 to make events for them.

are you even trying, user?

it isn't updated to the new version however

Ebin, simply ebin. Of course few months after I took this screenshot I got attacked by Poles. Now I'm catholic.

Attached: 203770_20180321011819_1.png (1920x1080, 3.41M)

Enabling crisis at the start. Keep stirring up crises every 10 years. Take Crete when during the eastern crisis (when Egypt goes to war against the ottoshits, also take over Sinai and that one chunk of Eritrea while you're at it) Then wait till the Crimean war happens and hope Russia sides against them.

having a bigger navy than the ottomans helps a ton, if they go to war in asia/africa after the egypt crisis you can block off their troops and stack captured land war score until and build their war exhaustion.

DLC kikery to a degree, and casualization to a degree (the more "gamey" and less "simulationist" the games, the easier they are to exploit and the harder they are to balance tbh), but for me I find the socjus shit to be the main point of contention. Germany for example now has an alt-history tree wherein a military coup starts a civil war and overthrows Hitler and either installs democracy or monarchy, problems with that:

Shit like that tends to put people off a game. The fact that it's absurdly easy to win and exploit is just icing on the cake.

Infamy, and high militancy among the few survivors. In practice, as long as you've gotten the nuclear trinity, there's not a whole lot anyone can do to stop you and not really any way the victims can stop you. And if you take the medium strength genocide option, you don't even really have to worry about infamy as long as you were at 0 before and don't do anything infamous for a while.

It's realistic, in my opinion. Genocide is actually pretty easy to get away with, most countries that have done it have faced little or no repercussions. As long as you have important trade relations or are in an inconvenient place to invade, you're good to go. Burma isn't very powerful or well connected but the US will never do shit about them getting rid of kebab. Russia murdered 10 million Ukrainians and the only nations that gave them any shit over it were the Axis powers, everyone else just pretended it didn't happen and once Russia won WW2, they were in the clear.

Some Komnenos managed to restore, in a sense, the Empire. I feel HIP has some script to keep the Komnenos and Doukas (or the Komenos-Doukas) around, because they tend to crop up in leading positions in Greece every time the empire gets splattered. Good for them. The Pecheneg-Roman Emperor is still tribal, and even built a Greek tribe in Iconium as his capital. Presumably that emperor lives in a mudbrick favela surrounded by densely populated post-Roman countryside.

Attached: komnenos.png (1920x1080, 3.96M)

I noticed this too and was pleasantly surprised.

I have no idea what is going on anymore.

Paradox it's like you don't even care.

Attached: eu4_98.png (1920x1080, 3.21M)

How the fuck do I survive past the first century or so as the Justanids? The way I have been doing things so far is that I first conquer my nothern neighbour and usurp the duchy of Azerbajan. Then I conquer the next northern neighbour and usurp Derbent. Then I conquer the tribal orthodox duchy to the north and both create the kingdom of Alania and usurp the duchy of Alania.
Because this almost never fails it seems that the Justanids are a much better choice for a Zoroastrian run than the house of Karen but eventually the Abbasids fuck everything up for me. I often manage to win holy wars declared by them early game due to having a lot of troops but after the death of my first character my holdings are of course split among my sons which make me go from having around 8000 troops to something like 1000 troops which really makes a difference.
I don't want to use the secret society mechanic as I prefer keeping this game as historically realistic as possible (which is why I don't turn on supernatural events or sunset invasion either) but also because it seems so easy that I feel like it would be cheating and not as satisfying as reaching the goal through military might.

...

You can fix the migration thing in the poptypes file by just #ing out a few lines
Glad to hear they're still updating it

What's wrong with that? It encourages historical accuracy. EU2 did the same thing.

Like I said, they're still easier than the Karens because they are surrounded by easy targets like Armenia, Georgia and tribal niggers rather than blobs.

This is wonderfull.

Attached: alexius_comnenus_i_by_lordshadowblade.jpg (565x1414, 332.36K)

You must now carry out your vengeance and become the grand master, Altair.

Didn't say there was anything wrong with it. The problem is that they left the nation locked in a special government type that is still basically the worst one in the game. It's basically a republic but without the infinite mana from reelections.

Post the oldest screenshot you currently have.

Rate my Kingdom of Livonia, lads.
I'll probably lose all that shit once my current king dies though. Including Kingdom of Livonia because I won't own any land in it anymore because I play with De Jure Requirement rule turned on. At least I finally converted to feudalism so I'll be able to get primogeniture with my next ruler.

Attached: Kingdom of Livonia, AD 1098.png (1920x1080, 3.67M)

Eat estonia for nice borders.

japan lost its ainu conquest/conversion missions, the conquering korea mission and the conquering "manga" province mission.

Yeah, hundreds of country or region/culture specific missions got axed so they can be sold back as DLC.

RIP Aragon's Gondar and Saruhan mission.

Which lines are these? If you can point them out I'll bring it up with CWE's creatorand we can probably get it implemented in the mod itself.

Actually, nevermind, I found it. For some reason they're set to only migrate to state capitals. I'll edit this out and propose it.

As my deconquista has progressed, I've made sure to give the rulership to local dynasties of note, after they have converted, of course. I like to think that few hundred years later when nationalism starts to crop up with growing economy and increasing centralization, the people will be forced to see Islam as integral part of their national identities, as the memory of earlier Christian rulers has been sullied by their weak inheritors. Considering how delusional muslims are, they propably would claim Charlemagne himself also was a muslim in the first place.

Next stop: dismantling HRE. Considering its at 91% Imperial Decay, it will like poking a rotten watermelon.

Attached: legacy of charlemagne.png (1920x1080, 3.57M)

Good job

Is it really that fun once you're so powerful?

Not really. There isn't even any way to fuck it up once you get a massive cavalry retinue to bully everyone with. After I destroy HRE, I'll to change to a lesser ruler. Maybe conquer a duchy in Britain, give it indepence, change to that and then work it up from there. If nothing, else, I want to see what the mongols do with the caliphate blob.

I saw that happen once but the thing is that the Saffarids will become as big of a problem as the Abbasids once they try to conquer Tabaristan. That or the Shia pretender spawns.

You could always try to go for a different religion if you want to make things more challenging, since you have conquered a large chunk of Africa you could go for West-African paganism.

Doesn't sound much fun, and I don't think I could even quit the muslim-gestapo before getting allahu akbared in an instant, let alone go full infidel. The hashashins are clearly balanced for being a minority religion, not the dominant branch of Islam. Even when I'm the Grand Master, I have no control over people (HRE emperors included) getting constantly shanked by the Ismaili enrichers.

So I started a new game as Brandenburg and I want to make to form Prussia and then the German Empire.

I aim for a very militaristic approach for start, I accepted the Boehmian deal, I lost 3 provinces and got another ruler and finally got rid of the bavarian rule modifier.

But now I have the luxemburg rule modifier, is it that bad? Can I get a brandenburg ruler actually somehow? What if I let pretender to organise and take over?

Any tips?

It was a quite challenging game. If Norse reform faith and get moderately big, they get OP as fuck and snowball from there

You just have to go all the way and never accept any foreign rulers until you get the last one that make you in a PU

Why is my family tree like this? Is there any way to fix this?

Attached: Why is it like this.png (1920x1080, 831.36K)

it's a bug, usually caused by the tree having characters where one is not a descendant of any of the others (such as putting two siblings as the founders of the dynasty).

With the most recent Waking the Tiger update, has HoI 4 finally become good? It does introduce some sort of Order of Battle system akin to HoI 3 right?

My gripe with HoI 4 is that it's quite a disappointing sequel to HoI 3. It's better in some ways (peace conferences are better, the map is clearer, trade has been simplified) and far worse in others (lol just draw a line to Moscow, führer mana, etc.).

Rule Britannia is a pretty bad update IMO.

Attached: 1519154319711.jpg (600x600, 14.24K)

It has a 2-tier OOB system. It's certainly not good but it's slightly less awful.

What's amusing is that the defining feature (killing your consorts and getting new ones at a whim) is basically useless. No one cares about consort's stats in EU4, it's basically never relevant. So effectively it's just a religion that gives you constant +1 stability, like Catholic does. Except every European hates you and you can holy war Europeans.

Pretty sure it doesn't work that way, that would favor Europeans. Instead it goes by tech group so that you can be 100 innovative as the Kang of Kangz.

It's indeed true that it just gives bonuses to blobbing. You have to maintain +4 or 5 advisors to get that shit constantly, or have really good kings (which requires blobbing for prestige to kill poor heirs).

Well, to be fair the HoI 3 OoB system is very bloated and micromanagy without really giving that many bonuses. A 2 tier system could have its merits. You have your generals, you have marshals above them. Who cares about sergeant X or captain Y?

It's just such a shame that this retarded frontline system makes it impossible to really plan your moves on the map. You're forced to draw a line to Moscow.

Its always good idea to create a giant empire in CK2 just to switch to some smaller duchy or irrelevant relative and work your way up later on

topmeme paradox

Attached: eu4_105.png (1920x1080, 3.27M)

wanking the tiger is shit, you cant create custom frontlines, like assigning an a entire army to the benelux, you have to individually assign armies to nations and when you declare war and they join allies your frontline get's fucked, also no more infinite division general manager, so say goodbye to a army made purely for defense, also i ran out of generals when playing as the soviet union, draw line and win still exists only thing is if you design a frontline with a marchal and give orders as him your forces will divide on the attack, TLDR new update is shit

wew

it won't be good before they ax the whole national tree shit and bring back events and decisions

The problem lies more in the frontline system making actual tactical and strategic systems impossible than in the national focus system. That removes all strategy from… well, a strategy game!

They incorporated a mission tree into EU4.
It will be the new standard in their designs.
Führermana and Trees.

fun part, the new A.I. is more cautias in getting encircled, but your own A.I. does jack shit because it assigns army's randomly if they are under a marschal, so to counter this, i conscripted my entire poppulation into infantry divisions to simply make encirclement impossible

Attached: 20180204203651_1.jpg (1600x900, 319.14K)

The enforced automation kills it for me wrestling with frontline AI while trying to keep your planning bonus is infuriating. Naval warfare is 100% non functioning. Air war is just about as bad due to having air regions that have to be babysat.

mission tree at least requires you to do shit. National focus tree just wants you to sit on your ass for X days and you'll get bonuses galore

Both! Parajews kikery needs no elaboration, but the game has been horrible casualized compared to its predecessors. And I cannot be accused of rosetinted nostalgiagoggles as I got into HoI 4 first, then Darkest Hour, then HoI 3. HoI 4 felt shallow from the moment I started playing it, and by the time I started HoI 3 (after a months long learning curve) I started to realize how empty HoI 4 was. While playing HoI 3 I thought to myself "Man, this is a really good game! It has a few glaring flaws though, but it'd be almost perfect if these issues were resolved". Then I realized what HoI 4 could've been, and the discrepancy between what it could have been and what it is angered me.

The biggest dumbing down issue for me is the frontline system. Your troops are glued to a frontline, you issue orders (which is mostly "follow this arrow" and that's it. Due to the way the frontline system works you have a hard time issueing orders to individual units. Things like defense in depth are also no longers possible. And the lack of a simplified terrain mapmode also doesn't help. And don't get me started on führermana.

The best practical example I can give of the difference between the two games are my experiences playing as France (or in the case of HoI 3 playing Britain while trying to keep France alive). In HoI 3 I had to switch to simplified terrain mapmode and map out the best defensive positions in France and Belgium. As soon as the war started and Belgium joined the allies, I'd make a defensive line of troops stretching from the Maginot Line through the hills and rivers of Belgium to the sea. All infantry with anti-tank guns. Then I'd look for strategic positions to liberate and reconquer (especially Denmark, after which I puppeted all of Scandinavia to get them to the allies). Trying to conquer Italy was also very exciting. At some point my daring attempt to just take all VCs by tank failed as my tanks found themselves cut off from supply encircled and destroyed.

In HoI 4 there are two ways to play the game. Either you go down the defensive focus tree as France, get forts all along your borders and just sit there doing nothing while the Germans kill yourself by throwing themselves at your forts. The second option is to go down the offensive tree, create the French Entente and just draw a line to Berlin. There's neither strategy nor effort in either of them, they're just focus trees with clear cut ways to win.

Trade! Trade was such a drag in HoI 3 that I just left it to the AI. In HoI 4 you can quickly and easily see what resources you need, who has those resources and how you trade with them. This makes it very easy to for example as Germany pick trade lanes for resources that the British cannot raid. You're more likely to buy Tungsten from Sweden than from America for example, because you can more easily secure the Baltic than the Atlantic. On the flip side the way resources are treated in the game is a hot pile of shit. In HoI 3 if you ran out of fuel, your tanks operaetd with a severe disadvantage and became easy pickings for the enemy. In HoI 4 you can build tanks without oil, once in the field the tanks don't need a constant supply of oil to keep them running, and if you don't have any oil (or 'negative oil') your tanks still fight as well as ever. The only penalty is that they are built a lot slower, big whoop.

Another thing it does better is peace conferences. Diplomacy is shit, but at least now you have actual options, and a war doesn't end with you just annexing everything you control. You can have puppets, choose what provinces you want to annex, you get what you fought for in terms of 'war score' et cetera. It only sucks that this invariably results in bordergore. I wish the AI was more prone to puppeting.

Attached: 1450524249682.png (781x744, 1.02M)

The big problem for the AI with players is that it can't handle whenever a frontline gets divided.

Even something as 1 empty province the enemy helds being cut off and encircled causes the AI to go nuts and surround it but not take it because it doesn't have an order to. Then when you force it to take it rather than rejoin the nearby front they auto-assign themselves to a front across the Mediterranean and get sunk en route.

It's amazing how bad is compared to HoI4, which was still bad (90% of divisions would be out of range of your HQs and not get bonuses unless you assigned them all to theaters), but it never fucked up like HoI4 does and it never required micromanagement like HoI4 does. HoI4 manages to simultaneously strip all intelligent micromanagement from the game and still have a game that needs to be cripplingly micromanaged in order to not screw up. But the AI is still even worse so you can memeblob as Greece to form Byzantium, so whatever.

Meant HoI3

i remember first time i got hoi4, i made an ellaborate strategy plan, made planned attacks carefully and strategicly, only to find out i can only perform 1 attack, what the fuck

Attached: 20171001160927_1.jpg (1600x900, 389.11K)

I got the von hollenzhollen or whatever his name was, but I had the choice to go into PU with saxony or not, in both option some nations got restore PU casus belli on me, did I do good?

Also I make no money at all, im at +0,17 balance. This is just sad.

Oh yeah, that's fucked too. Draw multiple battle lines for different compositions to travel different paths. Can only draw an arrow from one battle line, and the game chooses which line you attack from.

Friendly reminder to shame HoI4 tards.

None of that is even represented

the fucking medival pope should get a complete prevention of allying heretics and heathens. It's the medival pope for god's sake!

But user, in a sandbox game like EU4, it is important for the Pope to be able to ally with Aztecs and send them complimentary letter after every human sacrifice. You wouldn't want the game to be railroaded, would you?

It's kind of a joke how irrelevant it is. By 1700 your monarch that makes 10 mana a month will make the equivalent of 11 w/ 100 innovativeness. After spending a few thousand on teching ahead.

Dev cost reduction is the most useless ability ever, especially for England. The only reasons to develop are:

1. For institutions outside of Europe.
2. (rarely) to keep a large disloyal vassal loyal. So do it like 5 times on France after PUing them.
3. As a trash bin for excess mana points. In this case you don't even care how much dev you get, and if you are getting innovativeness (as an Anglican…), you throw your mana into that trashbin rather than developing.

They did nerf money a bit, armies cost much more to maintain now. But it nearly breaks AIs that aren't Ottoblob or Ming.

It's actually fairly worthwhile to share knowledge with others. Lithuania paid me 11 ducats a month.

Only 10 years after the crusade too and he's sucking turk cock. EU4 needs to copy M&T's piety system and make it so only impious nations can make major alliances outside their religious group.

It needs to copy way more than that

its paradox…they just dont give a shit any more

That's a good argument and you're right.
So anglicanism is just a fucking joke that adds nothing in usable systems. Reformed is still a joke. Catholicism is shit too. I go protestant every time simply because the system is better and more varied (even though they nerfed the bonusses)

I haven't gotten to lategame yet in the new patch

I think that that would work, but also with matching rivals. France-Ottoman alliance, and a dutch motto from the region was 'Rather ottoman then papal." With matching rivals you should be able to get an alliance that falters if the rival is crushed.

there is no medival pope that would ally a heretic or a heathen. It should just be like that. That restriction should also count for human popes. It's integral to society back then.

perhaps the pope can reform the papacy enough that he takes more power and when 3 inquisitors finally confront him about his heathen ways, he can claim he IS the catholic churchs, and duel the inquisitors to the death

Attached: sheev.jpg (3264x2448, 752.3K)

Yeah, it'd be better if Rule Britannia was instead a Dutch-focused expansion. Then we'd actually get development of a country without a lot of flavor events, as opposed to the country that already had the most flavor events by far.

Paracucks are almost more Angloboo than Swedeboo.

Nah, just in the early to midgame it makes the AI a lot weaker.

I would let a decadence revolt happen, multiple times. You have to make sure you give the people proper feudal borders

To follow up with my own post, I made the entire continent of Europe muslim, which again, I would like to imagine what a europe like that would be

Waking the Tiger is basically a way to reduce HoI4 into an EU4 meme simulator while keeping intact the map painting shit.

Can you please explain what you mean by this?

That's been happening for a long time now. Ottoshits also love to ally France.

Except that actually has a historical precedent and makes sense (France tends to rival Austria, Ottomans tend to rival Austria, the enemy of my enemy is my friend). The Vatican on the other hand has absolutely zero reason to ally M*slims.

Fucking shut up already about that shitty fucking game, you cancerous pieces of shit.
Fuck off back to halfchan if you want to talk about it.

Attached: HoI4 Waking the Tiger.jpg (662x426 1.4 MB, 337.21K)

That's why I think they should bring back the Defensive Alliances system from Vic 1, it makes sense that ottos or France would help each other if they got into shit with Austria, but it makes 0 sense that kebab sends their doomstacks all the way to Normandy when Surrender of Maine happens, for instance.

wait, i tought all those youtubers using senor hilter was a meme mod, is it seriously in the game?

Attached: autism.jpg (1272x679, 142.86K)

No. It is the vanilla fucking game.

Attached: European Union.png (1920x1080, 2.24M)

Rod Hull and Le Ebin Meme Empire are retarded, but I actually like Señor Hilter. It's a nice nod to an old conspiracy theory.

It's like a 5% chance of happening after Germany is defeated.

i gues paradox isn't that bad i supose

Attached: ay nibba.JPG (847x449, 54.95K)

The big problem for the AI with players right now is that if give it a frontline of 20 width infantry-artillery divisions to attack it'll attack them. And it'll keep attacking until its manpower is completely exhausted and you can just walk through them.

The biggest joke of HoI4 is that it punishes you if you play the game, rather than let it play itself. The fucking general bouses do not apply unless you let the AI take the helm.

I just want a modern successor to DH with more events and decisions and navy system that isn't complete dogshit (such as AI ignoring naval range due to being too retarded, meaning it can happily ignore island hopping in the pacific and attack you anywhere if you play as Japan).

I think the Hashashins might suffer from management and communication issues, but at this point I'm more puzzled by why the caliph chose to have a stroll in the papal palace garden while waging war on the crusaders.

Attached: no caliph you are the infidel.png (1920x1080, 3.64M)

The only sensible explanation is that the Caliph was, in fact, the Pope. If the pope is still alive, then it just means he faked his own death due to being unable to maintain this charade of impersonation and disguise now that there is a crusade going on. Of course, seeing as how he used the Hashishin to do it, and how you, as a second in command, did not know, it means he also impersonates the order's Grand Master.

I normally play without the secret order thing on so this might already be the case without me knowing but it would be a pretty cool mechanic if the highest leader of a certain religious order could become a crypto as well. So basically, if sunnis manage to conquer Rome and you make a Catholic secret order then the Pope would be the leader of this order but officially be a sunni and have a "secret Catholic" trait.
Then you could also add an event for if you or any other character that holds land manages to kill him after which you gain prestige, piety and the overall piety of either the entire religion or that of the order becomes lower.

I still can't capacitate myself to accept that your pic and mine were drawn by the same artist. But what truly makes it shocking is that your pic is a later work, while mine it's his old art.
The skill degradation syndrome is real.

Attached: The long ears are for listening better, to the sound of nuts smacking against her big ass, that is..png (1286x1103, 713.29K)

how does that happen anyways?

Realizing that you can earn the same amount of money with less effort put in.

So, how long do you guys think it will take Parakikes to implement those decision trees from EU4 and HoI4 to CK2?

what decision trees in EU4? I thought it was just the mission tree

wat

you assign troops to a front, which is led by a general, which gives bonuses to the troops fighting there. Said front is controlled by the AI, your job is to just draw the arrow for what AI's objective should be. If you decide to turn this shit off and do it all manually, moving the troops and all, you will no longer get the general bonus.

Yes, I mean those. I wouldn't be surprised if they did Dynasty Mission Pack DLC to get some extra shekels.

that's new to me. the general bonus applies as long as the general is assigned to the army. did you mean the planning bonus?

How the fuck does Paradox breed these drones? You would think that putting DRM on their DRM workshop, having a registration locked mod forum and all but banning alternate distribution methods like ModDB and Github on top of selling expansions for a game that still hasn't fixed any of the problems it launched with would get to their users, but instead you've got reddit sycophants for every shit mod under the sun, gigantic faggot modders that blame bugs on pirated copies and even russian mod pirates that actually comply with mod authors requests to keep their mod exclusively on the workshop.

Attached: unamusedanimugrill.png (500x500, 90.93K)

I don't know, haven't played the game since it got released, but I remember this kind of bullshit did happen

In Hoi 4 troops assigned under general get their bonuses, but you have to make battle plan by drawing arrows to be eligible for planning bonus for extra stat boost. Also you are punished by playing effectively such as making encirclements etc. because the general/field marshal trait gain is calculated by hours of active combat. So unless you waste men & play like retarded post-purge Soviet general in or Chink zergrusher, no bonus traits for you.

Not only that, they intentionally fucked players who don't use AI even more for this patch: If you manually order units that are under AI control, they lose their planning bonus much quicker than normal.

Thankfully that's actually being fixed in the beta patch. A good K:D ratio and collapsing pockets will give xp.

The thing about EU4 and HoI4 is that they're babby's first GSG for a lot of people and, upon first glance, offer a lot more complexity than most other games. They haven't seen its predecessors (mostly because HoI3 has the steepest learning curve outside of dwarf fortress with literally the worst tutorial I've ever seen in my entire life) while EU4 and HoI4 are easy to learn. They're not entirely pick up and play, but after 3 or 4 games you realize everything the game has to offer… almost.

This is why these games became popular and you see a lot more people on youtube playing them et cetera. despite its retarded faults (the problem with EU4 is that EVERYTHING relies on your three forms of mana and very little on money, whereas the Eu3 slider system made money king).

If Paradox cared about quality and not just sales, they'd find a middle ground between accessibility and actual complexity. Instead they just add new "LE COMET SIGHTED XDDD" events and new focus trees we're expected to pay for when modders can make them for free.

Simple, they have a full monopoly on making grand strategy games, and it has been that way for more than a decade now. They got quite lazy and too comfortable because of that. Moreover, Paradrones took brand loyalty to an extreme and cranked it up to eleven after that. Paradox doesn't give a fuck about their older fans, or historical accuracy anymore. Reddit is their ever loyal target audience now. What we need, is another company to start making, good grand strategy games, and put some pressure on those Swedish cucks. Otherwise, Paradox will continue to milk EUIV for the next 10 years, adding nothing but bloat, poz and memes.

Attached: beaner.jpg (788x1028, 78.79K)

But that's the thing, since Paradox has de facto-monopoly with GSG games they don't need to care for quality unlike when they were only small studio renowned for making autistically accurate niche games. For these swedish kikes its easier to spent hour or two on making sub-par focus tree that rips half of its content from already existing mods and call that an "update" rather than to try and actually fix game-breaking issues like fuhrermana, AI quality etc in case of HoI 4. Why would they bother to do real work when they can rip off stuff from modders and call it a day?

I mean its not like there aren't plenty of low-hanging fruits for them to be able do even within constraints of their casualized framework. For example if they want to leave current framework intact, they could just have historically accurate manufacturers, military personnel & politicians already selected and have their retarded fuhrermana used to change them. It's still far cry from Hoi 2 or Hoi 3, but even that would make more sense than the present clusterfuck where AI tends to lack some or most of those choices anyway depending on the country thanks to the retarded way it uses the mana. Resources being unrealistic? Bring back fuel as separate resource that oil needs to be converted into in order to keep your tanks, ships & planes running. Or actually have AI-preference for USSR AI to produce medium & heavy tanks because they tend to have only light ones available in 41 which makes steamrolling over them as Germany something even most braindead redditor is capable of.

Granted, I'm only scratching surface of the shitcake here and I'm sure that other anons have plenty of things left to point out. But let's be retardedly naieve for moment and imagine that some Paradox dev is actually lurking at this thread and willing to listen for advice: how would you tell them to fix HoI 4?

Personally I would bring back fuel, starting cabinets and spy system. Put more stock on decisions rather than the cancerous focus tree, and if they absolutely refuse to remove the fuhrermana then either increase the rate its gained or reduce the shit it needs to be used for across the board. Current manpower system needs to be adjusted as well because having countries running around with several hundreds of fully-kitted 20/40+ battalion divisions is just ridiculous. Old IC system should likely make return in some form as well because presently dealing with broken shit is far too easy as major power especially when you are willing to exploit the fuck out of system such as having continuous repair focus. Also they need to make more terrain impassable, for example historically Russians had such a trouble with Finland because they only had few viable avenues of attack. In Hoi 3 this is represented rather well unlike in 4 where USSR can unrealistically invade across the entire border. And this is the shit I can think just at the top of my head.

The role for paradox today is to create simple frameworks, so that the modders can turnthem into something actually useful. Been a long time since I've bothered even trying vanilla – it's just too shit in every way, with paradox making more and more retarded decisions. The only time I remember where they actually went back and fixed their utter fuckup in later patches was when they stopped having building shit cost mana and stopped conquering a province destroying every building in it (all of which obviously led to not ever building anything save for some unique buildings in capital, which one would think would be obvious even during development, but parashitters needed like a year to realise).

Thing is, some of these mechanics are so fucked that I don't think even mods can save them. EU4 has hope thanks to MEIOU, which straight up throws the vanilla mechanics into garbage and makes money extremely important, but I don't think any amount of mods can save HoI4. It's fucked on a design level.

No, that's Bethesda. The problem with HoI 4 is that the very foundation of it is so utterly shit (especially that frontline system), that not even the most dedicated modders chan change that.

I like what MEIOU and Taxes did to EU4 system though. The population system is so brilliant it makes me wonder why it isn't in the base game. Oh wait, I do know. It's too "hard" and is dependent on organic factors happening in game and not retarded shit like dumping your kingmana into some backwards village in Normandy until it becomes the largest city in the world within 5 months.

Well, there's store.steampowered.com/app/603850/Age_of_Civilizations_II/ but I doubt it'll ever come out or be good.
There's also Making History series which is still getting worked on but from what I gathered it's more similar to HoI 4 with its alt-history bullshit.

The best thing about MEIOU is that mana stops being important after early game. Once you unfuck your shit enough to get corruption to about 15 or less and don't spend on tech when they have an ahead penalty, you'll start drowning in mana sooner or later and the game will start being all about money. You need money to build capitals and roads and ports to lower the CE penalty (unless playing some tiny nation), you need to fund your education and court so that you aren't a country of retarded poorfags, your taxes will drop if you give power to the church, but if you don't you'll have revolts out the ass and will have to subsidise education even more, shit like fortresses, canals, and other buildings all cost a small fortune (which is why you have the estates build most of them… but the estates take a big fat cut from your taxes)… and that's not to mention how extremely important stability becomes thanks to the estate privilege mechanic.

Were paradox not a bunch of faggots, they'd follow suit and make money more important, like in EU3, and try to lessen the importance of mana. Seeing HoI4, though, it's just going to be more and more mana from here on out.

Paying for stuff with manpower is also an incredibly good idea that vanilla needs to copy.

They are kind of reducing the value of mana over time by adding all the new ways to gain maina (estates, power projection, level 5 advisors, disinheriting shitty heirs).

The money problem just goes back to the base EU4 mechanics where there's nothing to spend money on but Army. In EU3 all monthly gain from production/trade/tax went into tech and only end-year tax went into income. In EU4 they made tech free (ducat-wise) without adjusting anything income source, so all you can do is shovel money into buildings that give force limit and spam even more mercs. All that production and trade income that was SUPPOSED to go mostly into tech is now free money, and the greatest escalating levels of production and trade as time goes on (which used to pay for more expensive tech) now goes into making your budget overflow the 32-bit integer cap.

I was just about to stabilize the Russia PU that I forced by getting into a war with Burgundy, and I get a random France PU.

Is there any way to stabilize this situation at all?

Attached: 20180324162250_1.jpg (1920x1080, 603.47K)

Just spam develop them. IIRC its -5% LD per development. Mega OP since it ticks away so slowly and only at a linear rate.

CWE's been updated again, trade blocs are fleshed out a bit more, you can colonize all the clay you've claimed and not just cities, and German restoration has been fixed so you actually claim all your rightful clay instead of Weimar borders (and you can now return Bielsko to Poland after taking Oberschlesien for perfect aesthetic German Empire shape).

Attached: germanborder2.png (2000x1775 51.74 KB, 106.92K)

I kind of understand the choice to go with mana instead of money. I don't agree with it, but I understand why they do it. A real economy is hard to balance. And Paradox are lazy soyboys. You try to simulate a real economy, you have to actually be very careful balancing it or you end up with a Vicky 2 state of affairs where it's trivially easy to swim in money and it stops being meaningful. The more gamey and simple it is, the easier to balance shit, which is why in Victoria 2 the real struggle is acquiring good RGOs. They are simpler, and easier to balance.

Did he add an event chain dealing with naziswhowanttokillsixmillionjews coming to power in Germany and reasserting themselves in Europe, or is it still
?

Attached: erica_heil.jpg (600x945, 149.32K)

Bravo Nolan.

In that pic EU replaced Germany as country, either through some dumb decision option available after having enough conquered clay or some mod. At least all of the reddit brats are sure to be happy with the new options that reward blobbing.

The version I made (which settintotrieste has implemented) changes Greater Germany claim to give 24 infamy and also needs you to have stopped WW2 reparations (10 infamy) so you do face heavier opposition, and if you make your claim with any significant amount of infamy you can expect an Infamy War against you. Even if you were at zero infamy, claiming your lost clay will put sanctions (political and economic) on your nation. They're not flavour text specific to Germany but a general penalty for near-25 infamy.

For now, playing nationalist Germany now does force you to slow down a bit more. You'll have to pick between what you find more important - nuclear sovereignty, stopping shekels to Israel, getting back your clay, expelling Poles, etc. Or do it all at once, but if you do that, you have to fight the world's Great Powers head on.

However, there is currently no specific war for having a Nationalist Dictatorship. Might see about working one in at some point, as well as getting NGO focuses and anti-NGO legislation into the game. When I have time.

At some point I'd like to expand on German restoration and give it a sort of "second east vs west" deal wherein Germany splits apart into Fourth German Reich and Federal Republic of Germany; VDR based around Bayern and Sachsen, BRD based Nordrhein-Westfalen, and the rest of Germany split between them. VDR gets backing from Russia, BRD gets backing from USA. This could possibly be an event that the USA can kick off if Germany goes nationalist - USA sets off a colour revolution in the Ruhr area (historic cuck central of Germany), or alternately if Germany is still cucked by the late 2020s, Russia backs separatist sentiment in Bavaria and Saxony which form the VDR. Then have some events to lead towards eventual reunification or open warfare with Russia and USA using it as a proxy war. Kind of unlikely to happen in real life, but I think it'd be a fun event and it'd add some challenge for a human Germany which is usually unstoppable due to dense pops, good RGOs, literate population, extreme homogeneity, etc.

VDR tag could also be given separate decisions and events from GER tag, which would allow for more detailed fleshing out of USA animosity towards non-cucked Germany, restrict clay claims to VDR, disable non-nationalist parties in VDR and disable nationalist parties in GER, etc.

you wot m8, shouldn't the modders have inserted some ethnic & cultural penalties etc. to represent the Turks that have been present & increasing in Germany since 70´'s and Mamma Merkel's multiculti open border bullshit?

Scenario you describe sounds appealing, but for accuracy's sake the modern Germany should get some tweaks.

I was talking about a human Germany which will typically go Nationalist Dictatorship by the mid 1960s and be entirely German with a booming birth rate and no immigration.

Just reported you to the EU Police so you can be reeducated to stop hate crime violations like this.

But nowadays mana isn't even balanced. It's literally impossible to run out of mana mid/late game when you have absolutism and +5 advisors.

And why the FUCK is that, anyway? Yes, you can turn DOWN the individual worth of any given item you can demand, but if you do that you’ll get Germany annexing half of Russia after winning two battles. The vanilla game way that war score is balanced is pretty good; I just want to be able to demand EVEN MORE. Oh! Wait, there’s that thing where if you hold one of your war goals for long enough, the “cost” of the war goal starts to drop. Is there a way to modify THAT part of the code so that eventually the cost drops to NOTHING, thereby allowing you to demand more things as long as you’ve kept holding your goals?

And one more thing: There’s absolutely no way to allow a capital province to be demanded in war unless you already have a core on it, right?

That would cause the US to declare war on them after marching on Washington and executing Truman.

You can do this by having a specific CB that only works for certain land.

CBs can allow you to demand whatever you want. The reason they don't normally is because moving capitals can lead to exploits.

Very cool.

Incidentally, what the fuck does the International Court of Justice do? The decision text implies that it has the same effect as renouncing the right to offensive war, but there wouldn't be any point in having two decisions with the same effects.

If you're taking part in the ICJ you can apparently ask for your unowned cores back IF you don't have an active "claim greater" modifier. So you can't use it to get expansionist cores but you can use it if you lost your cores in a war. I have literally never tested it ingame so I don't even know how or if it works.

defines.lua
GW_WARSCORE_COST_MOD = 0.65, – cost reduction factor on warscore needed to fulfill goal if great war
GW_WARSCORE_COST_MOD_2 = 0.3, – cost reduction factor on warscore needed to fulfill goal if late game great war
GW_WARSCORE_2_THRESHOLD = 50, – warscore threshold where a GW turns into a world war for winner side

That's about the most you can change beyond creating new specific CBs.

If anyone is interested, a new team took up development of After the End, and they updated it so it actually works with the current version. They haven't added much new stuff, but they're adding secret religions and societies next patch.

moddb.com/mods/after-the-end-fan-fork

I think it would be interesting if someone made a Zoroastrian DLC for CK2.
Stuff like fleshing out the Sayoshant event, adding more heresies and having them actually influence RP rather than just being something in the background that fires a revolt every decade or so, secret societies for heresies, some sort of archievement/title for when you conquer a certain part of India as a Zoroastrian and maybe adding a Parsi character culture for Indian Zoroastrians.

Was it abandoned before?
And if anything, they should work on the existing religions and cultures before adding more crap.

Not quite abandoned, more of an extended hiatus. Original modders got burnt out, so stopped development. Not to mention that something paradox changed in the Monks and Mystics patch pretty much broke everything related to religion, and none of them really had time to deal with fixing all of it.

Anyone got a changelog for the newest version of HIP? I need it in order to update user's HIP Edits

EMF v8.04

>FIXES:
>Fixed a bug preventing passage of the laws Late Feudal Administration, Agnatic Succession, Agnatic-Cognatic Succession, and Absolute Cognatic Succession. The tooltip would say that you couldn't afford the prestige cost of those law changes when you actually had sufficient prestige. This time we actually fixed the bug, we promise.

EMF v8.03

>MAJOR FIXES:
>Fixed a bug preventing passage of the laws Late Feudal Administration, Agnatic Succession, Agnatic-Cognatic Succession, and Absolute Cognatic Succession. The tooltip would say that you couldn't afford the prestige cost of those law changes when you actually had sufficient prestige.
>Duel engine should now work as well as it ever did.
>FIXES:
>Due to a similar type of error as that which caused the law-prestige bug, fixed numerous cases where the "do not disturb" flag was not being cleared as soon as it could be on characters. The flag means that the character is busy with something and affects what will trigger for the character and what decisions will be available to it. The flag would still be cleared after 3 years in the previous version, so some things should simply work a bit better regarding timing of character availability.
>The EMF developer mode decision DEV: Reveal Title & Province IDs is no longer displayed all the time, regardless of whether developer mode is enabled.
>Fixed a bug in the logic for the Third-Party Claim CB that prevented players from being the target of empire-tier attackers in the general case.
>Fixed the Restore Court Order decision for the Anarchy at Samarra setup. The Court Anarchy trait is no longer cleared at death; you must enact the decision to restore order.

Welp, I didn't consider that would happen

Thanks user.

Changelog V1.15:

After fighting off the crusader by occupying the Papal State (France was heavily occupied by the Christian forces, but 100% is the law, so pack it up and leave, infidel boys), I noticed that there was a Holy Roman Princess in the Caliph's dungeons. As the Kaiser was excommunicated, I decided to recruit the princess (why is that even possible?), convert her to the One True Faith, the very specific brand of Ismaili Shiite Islam that likes to pretend it's a secret revolutionary society despite directly controlling half of the civilized world, berothed her to my heir and then pressed her claim. HRE capitulated in about a month after I captured the capital and imprisoned the Kaiser.

Only time will tell what kind of clusterfuck will entail. I'm going to keep my retinue in Germany to fight off the inevitable rebellions against her enlightened and progressive rule.

do i need any other mod to run the cold war enhancement mod?

How much of Europe are you planning to conquer?

nevermind

I keep hashashinating these Mongol Khans, but the horde just won't split. The hordes conquest has slowed to a crawl though because the vassals try to impotently quit it at every succession. Not much they can do against the zero attrition doom stacks still around.

Not much more. My current borders are pretty good, a kind of Africa starts at Rhine (almost) deal. I plan to create a some strong mussulman realms in Italy and central Europe so they can continue spreading peace and prosperity. I think I'll need to get my hands on HRE to do that as normal conquest would be too bothersome.

Are you playing with any mods on? Those portraits seem a bit "off" and I remember Khan normally looking more mongoloid.

Having quite the fun as Prussia in EU4 MEIOU.

My army is more or less unstoppable, crushed through 2 coalition wars by now, I have enforced the Calixtine religion on a few of my neighbours as well.

Waiting for the 3rd coalition to strike any time soon, with the Emperor, Austria leading it probably, it's gonna be tough, thank god I also have the Taborite modifier which gives +10% morale and infantry combat ability, which boosts me a lot.
+25%~ infantry combat ability, +10% cavalry and artillery, +1 leader skill on everything and a wooping 112,5% discipline at 100% army professionalism since early 1400.
Military tradition never drops bellow 50% because of condotierri and constant wars.

All around I'm having fun.

Greatest part was annexing all of upper silesia after the war of the 2nd coalition.

Making papa frederick proud.

Forgot to add, what idea groups do you suggest?
I have quality, economic, leadership, bureaucratic and now I have just chosen aristocratic (empty).
Do you have any suggestions?

Finally some progress. Killing all the adult males of Temujin's clan made the Borjigins go independent, splitting the even troop stacks between Borjigin Khanate and the Mongol Horde under new leadership. Hashashins have a strange sense of workplace humor, but they do compensate with effectiveness.

I noticed the whore of Babylon I'm using to destroy Europe is descendant from sainted Kaisers (martyred by me) and close relative to pious popes. I'm starting to think might be the villain of this story.

Another note, England continues to remain divided between the participants of Norman conquest, but at least both dynasties share a culture now.

The potraits are from HIP's CPRplus.

What's the best game and mod to experience the warring states period of Japan? Prefferably with as much politics as possible
Sengoku is practically dumbed down CK2.

After trying thousands upon thousands of Justanid games I'm starting to believe it's literally impossible to survive for longer than half a century without converting and becoming crypto.

Can't you just swear fealty to someone without the necessary crown authority to revoke infidel titles for free?

The only thing there is is the Nova Monumenta Iaponiae Historica mod.

Fix those disgusting French borders.
That's a very nice Poland though.Seeing as you have some time left, try to go for Intermarium. Fuck Russia up and connect the Baltic and Black seas.

I like the idea of a buffer Polans saving Europa from the Russgolian hordes.

Only things that need fixing are that italy blob in france, the southern german states and lack of megalii idea, congratulations on your comfy poland.

You know how you really like to play some vidya, and you end up playing the first level or section of that vidya over and over again, but over time the joy you felt is no longer the same and you're in this sort of weird trance where you know exactly what to press and when to do so but you just want to get to the fun part, so you suddenly and without warning start messing up because that part of your brain that has rote memorized the button presses or inputs glitches a bit and you try to make up for it but after a short while you mess up even harder until you can't even remember the basics without stopping and looking at the bigger picture for a few moments?
That. Fetish artists and lewd artists get the worst of it.

Quick, someone make a mod to turn HoI4 into a MOBA so it can kill grand strategy.

We have to kill every single one of these cuckolded swedish motherfuckers.

So even they know it's literally mana that causes shit to happen via magic, yet rather than properly simulate everything so that one doesn't need to RP as fascist Merlin, they just make some memes and carry on

Paradox is now adding ads for DLC into CK2 and the only way to opt out is to log into your Paradox account.
Eternal swede strikes yet again.

I thought ads were Geoff's territory? Think Paradox is taking notes?
