Will we ever get a Billy Hatcher 2?

The game was really fun .
Gameplay was creative. Escorting an egg could get frustrating at times, but you also could not really attack without one, thus risk management.
For one of Sonic Teams best games, and their beat 3D game, why do they ignore it?

Because tragically, there was far more money to be made from autistic furfags who don't care whether the game is any good or not.

Glad to see someone else remembers this game. Running over enemies with a large egg was crazy good fun. I think it was just too "weird" for Western audiences (and didn't have the extra fetish content to keep the Japanese interested… unless their fetish was VERY specific).

Billy Hatcher is garbage, it looks like a good game but is obnoxious as fuck to control and play even compared to SADX and Sonic Heroes. The only reason why you like it is that the controls and graphics are original and it could have had the chance to be genuinely good. They didn't have voluntary janitors that probably do it for free like Super Mario Club to bugfix all of their shit.

but Sonic Team made Billy Hatcher.
And they obviously can't make a good Sonic game, why not let them try again with one of their forgotten IP's?

What makes you think the staff from then is still around now?

Damnit OP, today's Sonic panel basically confirmed that we won't get another Billy Hatcher game.
It's over.

When Sonic Teams is making a game that isn't Sonic, its good, but I doubt they will have that same magic nowadays.

Why live

I bet there must be a few that still works at SEGA, but if we cannot even get the same team behind Sonic Unleashed, Colors, and Generations. I doubt we won't have the same team behind the other games.

This.
I think a majority of the reason why people keep buying games from shit developers/publishers is because they don't know that the original team is long gone and they are riding a dead carcass.

How the fuck did I forget that Sonic Team did Phantasy Star?

Nights Journey of Dreams was made in San Francisco when Sega's American branch was still there.

So was Sonic Adventure 2, for what it's worth.

Something obviously happened.

Doesn't matter, whoever is there now will sure as shit give a non-Sonic game everything they can muster since they won't be constrained by the rigid autism surrounding Sonic. At the very least they will make something memorable even if its a trainwreck.

The creator of Sonic left SEGA and joined Square-Enix, let that sink for a moment.

he left sega a long long time ago, way before joining square enix. Over 10 years ago now. He made some great games in his departure and I'm excited to see what sort of resources SE affords him.

Whatever it'll be, it will have Denuvo in it so it's dead to me.

I live in hope.

You know how sometimes none of the people who made an old game are still at the company, but they keep making the game anyway? Sonic Team is kind of like that, but it's just whoever Sega says is Sonic Team.

How can one buy IP's?

Nah, PSO is their best game.

yeah its almost like teams change and directors have different styles or something.
