How do I learn the cooking skill? I've tried reading the book on Baking but it doesn't do anything.

Is getting into magic a CP nightmare like windmill is, especially if I already ranked some skills (i.e. windmill)? How many ranks of magic mastery should I get? All I'm really interested in is healing and party healing, and other than that using melee for damage.

Mixing is the first cooking skill, I think it's called Cooking 101 or some shit. Check Glenis and Walter

Don't get magic mastery at all unless you want the mana. It gives no good stats and is a pretty pointless ap sink since you can just get meditation instead, which is a much better long-term investment and costs less.

Being a healer works differently in mabinogi.
In other games the healer either negates damage or replenishes health, in mabinogi the healer gives melee users more windmill credits so they can use it more liberally without going deadly.

Its only good for exp grinding as the mobs give a shit ton of exp, but money wise is shit, even the big lucky drops are fucked because the money spawns are blocked by the obstacles in the ground.

Okay, I figured out how to cook now. I had to hold a ladle and cooking pot in my hands and talk to Glenis about Skills. I'm not the tools are necessary but it worked.

go magic or ranged to keep multiaggro off others
grab healing so people can make more mistakes or as says, more windmill credits
carry feathers for revives
learn cooking so you can provide buffs
rank up campfire

In long dungeons, sure; once everybody runs out of Nao recoveries and it's nothing but revive feathers, bandages and campfires will help ease the wounds. Your bag will probably be half-filled with those items to really prepare, though.

I should have taken a before pic but I didn't think to until I had sorted most of the ore. It was a fucking disaster, I had to go to these lengths just to figure out if I had enough ore for this last refining rank.
I realized in the process that the main inventory tab and 8x10 (…) bags are 10 spaces tall, and the 150 bag is 10 spaces wide, so you can use that to easily count large numbers of items if you organize them properly.

Healer is alright but never go pure healer, there are times you need to be able to kill efficiently in solo dungeons during story quests and when you dont have a party. Having upgraded swords and r5 windmill should be enough to keep you self-sufficent when you don't have a party, you can also consider raising a battle pet to keep some of the aggro off of you. Other than that healers will have two skills which is healing and party heal. Party heal costs alot of mana but will heal all party members for a good chunk of hp. There are also niche shield dome skills you could use but thoses are situational at best, there's one for ranged attacks, fire, ice and lightning. If you find others with dome skills I believe you can stack same domes togheter to increase their effectiveness.

MMOs send lots of small data packets. Lower MTU means less data is sent per packet, so it can send lots of smaller ones faster. IE server response/lantency is improved. Casting speed is based on server response. not talking about charging speed which is probably what you got mixed up on Larger MTU is good for larger data packets, like when youre downloading or watching videos online.

There's an estimated 70-ish people playing from the thread, at the moment, and that's not considering alts; there's going to be a shitload of overlap in, among other things, life skills. Hell, i think we got three people who've maxed out metallurgy AND refining, to say nothing of all the madmen who banged up rank 1 windmill. You do you, and if you're really worried about helping people, scrounge up mana herbs and holy water for Dartier's ambitions, leather for the smiths, and i assume Semifiend still wants to play Mister Snowmiser for those freeze orbs.

Oh right, just thought I'd be grinding blacksmithing for no reason as there are already 2 other blacksmiths, I'll continue grinding it then.

Skills are divided into combat (includes melee and ranged), magic, combat alchemy, and non-combat. Levelling skills increases your combat level, which is why anyone using melee trains windmill first, because it only levels up when you kill enemies with a higher combat level than yours. Non-combat skills give bonuses to stats, so a mage would want skills that give bonuses to int. Other than that, it should be obvious at first glance which skills would be useful to you or not. You get basically an endless supply of AP to spend on skills if you just use a rebirth every 2 weeks.

Oh, I should also mention that "skill trees" aren't a thing. There are few combat skills to unlock, the basic skills you start with scale into the endgame.

Every level gives 2 ap. When you rebirth, you go back to level 1 in both exploration and general levels.

Just play a melee/ranged hybrid. Then you can have melee and xcom rng in one package.

My archer is a knife ear, so melee is kind of not an option.

There are mage giants. You can be a melee elf with ranged attacks as a back-up.

The only downside with elf is no final hit and no dual wield. Just go crit build or use your retarded amount of dex to use two handers with ease.

A lot of their melee skills are quite gimped, especially WM, and the weapon selection is smaller.

Elves can't use two handers.

The difference is giant mages are just harder at the start and only deal with mana thirst, which can be negated through upgrades and via custom content. On live it didn't matter because you had inspiration to regain mana.
You can also argue that you can make a tank mage, and that your blaze will stronger.
Elves, however, get less str and health. Now because there's no lances, thank god, they can be just as effective but it won't be easy.

Question about main quest that seems to be bugging out for me, How do I give the bear cunt mana herbs? I don't get a quest after the previous quest, the first g1 quest. There should be an option to "divide" when you right-click on the herbs in your inventory. Select one, then drag it onto Tarlach (the bear cunt). The cursor should change and say "give" or something.

The only thing you can do with guild points is donate them to the stone.

Guild points can only be donated, they have to be manually donated to put in some more effort and to only reward from active members.

Guild points can be spent on guild expansions and a guild robe, among some other random things.
