I've heard similar claims made by the Author of both pic relateds about the NAZi's and the USSR and while it's true capitalists of all kinds were invested heavily in both at certain times the broader claims that they were therefore plots by foreign investors to install dictatorships don't stack up to scrutiny and believe me I'd really like to believe that about the Nazis and the USSR. It would make my life a lot easier to have definitive proof of both claims but it doesn't exist as far as I know.
The strongest claim for a conspiracy was that Lenin was allowed back into Russia by Germans who wanted the eastern front over with. Aside from allowing him passage though there isn't a whole lot of evidence for that even, because the response from most countries including the Germany's alliance to the October Revolution was disdain and hate. The killing of White Russians and the Czar's family was also considered a major tragedy on both sides of the war.
I've noticed that Trotsky is often the focal point of a lot of conspiratorial claims that can be proven false by the simple fact that he would be too young to do what people were claiming he was doing at the time. It also makes me wonder that if he was that skillful and knowledgeable how could he be outmaneuvered by a swine headed fool like Stalin?
