Nioh

Is there any reason to play Abyss and NG+ if I did everything on default difficulty?
From what I can tell it's all reused maps with beefed up enemies.
What was your hardest fight?
What would you change?
What's your favourite weapon type and skin?
What's your favourite transformation?
Why Yukimura is always portrayed as some good guy and Masamune is always an Asshole?
Was it better than Dark Souls in the end?
Post your Willams.
Post your builds.

So far, the very first demon boss on the ship. I'm about half way through the game now, and I haven't gotten my ass handed to me by any other boss as much as this one.
The shitty loot system. I seriously hate it. I'd prefer a more focused approach instead of fucking slot machine diablo-shit. It also pisses me off that the game's difficulty is effectively dictated by character equipment. It kind of cheapens the whole experience to know that I could'vd steamrolled any of the supposed trials that I have previously encountered if I had only access to end game gear. I guess I'm saying that I might've liked the ability to collect an array of unique weapons and then modify them to my liking, rather than cobble together some [current_level] template weapon with passive attributes.
kusarigama is best weapon
Haven't tried all the special abilities yet
wat
They're not really comparable, in my opinion.

The NG cycles unlock progressively more levels of power. If you like staying at level 150 gear then sure, stay on way of the samurai.

An interesting question actually. Sanada's a no brainer since he was the last guy standing and embodies all the samurai virtues to a T, but Date was a competent lord by any measure. If I had to guess, it's that he looks like an edgelord so he must be one, and maybe that he dealt with foreign powers before (((Tokugawa))) shut that shit down.

The Abyss adds more levels every time you unlock a new game cycle. Eventually you'l start being able to defile equipment into ethereals.
Did you get the Cats kabuto or the Smith's hammer yet?

I wont divulge into spoilers about Yukimura and Masamune, but they appear just like they always do in any japanese media ever.
But as far as gear goes, its diablo similarities kinda fall off near the end of the game and works more like Dark Souls system.
All the randomness suddenly goes away and it's just one huge money sink where you keep upgrading shit you were having for hours now.
But come to think of it isn't Diablo 2 the same way? So you deal with random whatever only before you get to the so called end game.

I expected there to be rarity above green, but is there actual new content to use it on, or just same bosses thrown in impossible combinations with inflated stats? Because that shit where you fight giant fox and toyotomi was outright made for cheesing and not for fun.
I feel like I might fall into some mmo-ish trap where it's infinite grinding for the sake of grinding the same shit with bigger numbers

No new content. It's mostly gitting even gudder. But you already got plenty of recycling just playing NG, didn't you?

Enemies get new attacks and the placements are different the higher NG+ you go. NG+4 is the cap

As far as optional missions go yeah, it's mostly reused shit and I'm kinda tired of it.
There were some unique side missions like bath house and red lantern district, but those are few and far between.
It's weird that single player game has this mmo-ish flavor to it. I don't hate it, but I wish there was something else to it, like abyss having its own tileset at least, and maybe a couple of exclusive bosses, or even recolored old ones that have different elemental affinities or something.

They do get new attacks? Now that's something.

For me, personal accomplishment, finished Way of the Nioh and the Abyss within a month with lots of hoarding and preparation beforehand, felt good.
That's what people said about Bloody Palace Mode in DMC4, but the loot in this game makes me too greedy to ignore.
Hideyori and Nine-tailed Fox on Way of the Nioh without the cheese.
A lot, balance, the stats and equipment set bonuses abuses, and mostly I want to see if they can add a little more vertical gameplay.
Between the Kusarigama and Odachi, and Revanant.
Gonna assume this is Guardian Spirit Living Weapon mode? Kato, Fuze, and Daiba.
Company who made this is Koei Tecmo, if you played Dynasty Warriors, Sanada is the cover guy for Samurai virtue, loyalty and justice while Masamune has always been portrayed as pretty much a practical and ambitious warlord who can back his words with action.
Combat is definitely challenging and satisfying at the start, and faster than any Soulsbourne game.
Ah, just imagine that you're level 750 with 99 on all core stats with 1000 focus levels on attack, with a heavy collection of ethereal sets and graces on all weapons and armor type, plus all samurai, ninjutsu, and omnyo magic skills learned to boot, plus title bonuses. It was pretty satisfying to play as a jack of all trades samurai, extra challenge fighting bosses in the Abyss but you can enjoy playing all build types, was pretty satisfying and a Soulsborne player would call you an idiot for not min-max and using a single build, lel.

>That fucking infinite LW Masamune and Sanada boss fight at the final floor
At least I got my max level Masakuni

Yes and no. Each of the NG's changes a few of the enemy placements; swaps a few enemies around with the harder DLC variants and increases the chance of the buffed up Red enemies; don't quote me but I also think there are ore buffs/new types of buffed enemy but I can't directly tell from a glance . Level cap on all shit goes up and pretty sure WotA brings in Orange rarities for you to collect

Nue and UmiBozu first time round. Nue had too many OHKO stunlocks, and I was running Axe so I could never get the daze on him. Umi was just the janky platforms at his side most of the time; beat him second time I got him to halfblob.
TriKelley, while not being a boss, is also absolute cancer to have to do when going for a new NG+

Any way to guarantee a certain rarity/perk on weapons/armour when farming would have been nice. For once the game actually thought of useful shit with time; pick up certain raritys, Umbracite and multiple item slot pads were great QoL's. Sidenote; pretty shit that DL3 didn't get a unique weapon type.

I ran a Wind/Body build using Spear and later Tonfa. Fire/Thunder/Water seemed shitter-tier and Earth was just fucking useless little did I know Wind makes the later NG+ cycles much more manageable and is actually one of the best lategame elements

Wasn't that much into poofing; got a waifuskin for the achievement; but none really appealed to me.

idfk; but I know that they are the respective protags in a separate Konami franchise. Maybe they were going for the 'no bad guys in war' slant

Dark Souls easily, with the exception of Bloodborne at about same powerlevel

No screenshot but i was going for this kinda theme in pic related when refashioning
-Yatagarasu Armor: Hitaiate Head
-Unusual Armour Torso
-Warlord Hands
-Platemail Feets
-Chunin Legs

also >Tengen/KaraJishi you dirty dirty fucking shitter

...

They do but it's not until Way of the Wise, so NG+3. The different enemy placements start from NG+ though. 2 is about actually unlocking the level cap and introducing the red aura enemies which make living weapon much less reliable than before, and also serve as an interesting risk-reward mechanic upon death. As in, the enemy respawns, but if you managed to kill it in red aura form then he will respawn as a regular enemy.
All in all though, the NG+ stuff is about giving you more to do if you feel like it. If you don't, no point in forcing yourself.

What you said is right, but you forgot that each NG+ cycle takes about an hour if you rush the shit out of the missions

...

Do you even get anything for completing the abyss? Other than realization of all those hours, nerves and electricity spent on a video game?

Is the mirror superior to the Yasakani?

The Equipment Set Bonus -1 effect can drop on other ethereal equipment too, and i just happened to get it on my Yata mirror.

Unless you get ethereal ones with good bonuses like 71% reduced duration on ailment statuses and Value+ on Atttack.

History writes itself.

All Sony fanboys wish to be like him. instagram.com/psn_hakoom/?hl=en

At least he isn't blowing up.

Well, precisely, i finished the main game, DLC and all, with most of the missions done. I Did the Kyushini (First area) in Way of the strong, to get good stuff & be prepared for the DLC. Now, perhaps I do the Abyss, nut if not…Im thinking about testing new weapon/build, but not sure if starting a new game is good. Not sure if the game will delete my old game, and I know about rebirth books, but isnt that challenging to play a 180 level character to do the same levels again. Any idea?

The first 20 floors of the Abyss will net you good gear, but it gets progressively harder, like Way of the Nioh hard.

naw, just eat a book and do the harder missions

See

and also store you amrita in a silbar ingot as well.

So if I just want interesting stuff instead of grind to get colored gear, is one run through game with dlcs enough?

also after fixing the crashes on particles on W7 by installing it under 10 it still does crash from time to time. I seriously dont know if I can fix it or the game is just so broken because I did all the fixes I could find on internet.

Not

enough

enter presses

ugh

You can make multiple new games and they just make a new character and save file. I wouldn't recommend that, as you might as well just respec and not lose everything and go for a higher difficulty.

Fuck am I irritated with the quirks of this game.
>Know that Book of reincarnation increases in value each time I purchase one so I have pressure put on me every time I think about investing a skillpoint basically forcing me to not specialize in anything
>2 of the hair locks are bugged in the first dlc in the 2 last mainline stages so am put off from progressing in that direction

>After 30 points price grows exponentially but no one knows the exact progression and people keep spreading absolutely retarded shit over the internet, though it's still out of my league since 20th point costs around 1kk when I'm just only reaching 2kk

So I have a few questions:
How do I make aiming non-irritating/manageable? How to make the game crash less(7, 1060 3gb, 8gb ram, HDD, i5 [email protected])? Does BoR stop increasing in price at 1kk? Did they fix hair lock bug in dlc? What do I do with the blacksmith patronage shitfest (Do I rush again through the game, but now 2 times instead of one to escape that bullshit)? Do I succumb to sloth/armor debuff/1 more chance ninjutsu? Does crafting become useless past a certain point (perhaps after you rush through the game 3 times)? What am I limited to get/reach in abyss right now? Does a melee/ranged/bare-handed/recurrent damage increase by x (not x%) becomes absolutely meaningless? Where do I get my information on pretty much anything?

I honestly can't be assed to answer to everything right now and there is stuff I don't know myself. However,

Perhaps I do reset, ok. I was using a Spear build with balanced stats, meleeing stuff, and also using the basic omnyo stuff (sloth,GS talisman, etc… All that with 12 omnyo stas). Any recommendation to what should I do now?

How much? I mean, doing that is keeping amrita in a lingot, but for that you need amrita to save. And the amrita I get I use either to level up, or to upgrade GS (Even many I dont use).

That giant cockatrice thing wrecked me so hard that I might have quit. Level 163, all divine 150 gear. I'm on NG. The DLC bosses are stupidly strong but I persevered and beat them. This fucker just won't go down. He shouldn't be kicking my ass as much as he has been, I've just switched off or something.

Okay, here's a cheese tactic, depending on whether you use living weapon, you can use your handcannon to hit the horn on his nose to weaken him, then use living weapon to rape his fucking ass, the DLC bosses are much much harder than the main game bosses.

Summon a visitant if you struggle. It always helps.

It's about fashion user, post your dress up.

alright there's your issue drop that and stop being bad at the game

You'll get plenty of patronage points from reforging.
You'll get plenty of loot to use/disassemble/sell/donate as you see fit. If you're worried about money then there are equipment and spirit bonuses that let you accumulate money faster. Gold armor + pickaxe + centipede.
I think it tops out at one million gold. You can also buy them for glory.

Here comes to the meat of your question. Which bosses?

I mean if you are going to respec and do a low level run. Don't waste all those levels.

Dunno about NG+ and beyond, but this cheap tactics worked on every single single boss up until final fox boss.
I mean it worked against it too.
And then there is this faggot.

Don't use sloth. use makibishi and later makibishi balls. Sloth is a bad habit to get into.

Onmoraki? I was disappointed at how easy that thing was. What weapons and build are you using?

seriously don't reccomend anyone ever uses sloth it's a horrible crutch that makes you 900% worse at the game. It lasts basically no time later, and then you have to completely re-learn how to play when enemies are at full speed as opposed to the 20% speed you're used to. All it does is make you worse at the game.

My go to refashion looks are Youngblood and Unusual with the Ronin hat for both and Knight set, really wish the veteran armor had an unbroken version like the ones they used for the cinematics and promotional images.

Its not like I have used it every time with all the bosses, and people recommended it and so I used it, and when I summon, many people do it anyways, And an user already said that it doesnt last that long. Really usefull, and makes many battles easier to manage, yeah, I already saw that and perhaps I should put more limit to that spell.Besides, with my level of magic, I could only use it two times, if you think I put multiple times the same spell.

That's a horrible argument. It makes you actively worse at the game, and your response is "well yeah, see I'm good as long as it works for easy mode!"
Pathetic

The problem is that sloth throws your timing off so you don't learn the correct timing of the bosses' attacks and more importantly sloth stops working in NG+ and beyond.
You should really invest more into onmyo and ninjutsu.

It gets a bit useless in Way of the Nioh and Abyss, lasts like 3-5 seconds depending if it's a red aura yokai or boss, it's good for progress in early difficulties, but you need to learn to dodge and block and memorize the attack patterns for the bosses if you want to get good.

I forgot to add if you really want to slow something down then use lightning.

It's fun.

I didnt knew about that either, so dont blame me that people recommend it before. Knowing that, and with I already seeing that in NG at later levels, the spell was losing effectiveness. I can see that now.

When I used Japan Bravest set+Lighting GS, I did that. But because agility is god in this game, and because Li, the Red Demon set is too fucking good & light for Spear builds, I have been using mostly spears with fire damage, with lately obtaining good non-set spears that scales with stats, now with one doing earth-damage.

If you're confident on your gear and level, it's good to do it old school, there's a lot of tools in this game, but sadly they all go from useless to worthless in higher difficulties (RIP Bomber Build)

And dropping two unstaggerable bosses on your ass is not a crutch?
Game is not dark souls, it's diablo, so you play it as diablo - i.e. use the most effective shit you can.
There is no skill involved, only stats.
And yeah Sloth still works on some bosses in the NG+, while not working on some bosses in NG, it's a per-boss case.
But when it werks, it werks great, no reason not to use it.

Thanks for the replies.
The question was more about skillpoint investment. But the answer is good enough.
I saw craftable hammers in the last thread that come with that ability. Though my question was more about forging itself. Like I heard there is a "chance" to craft equipment of level 320 (meaning that I'd rather save materials for later like I did with a 1st playthrough) after a certain point while the usual limit was 150. And even if it's just another exploit why would I even want to craft a level 150 equipment when soul matching cost of bringing it to 320 later would be absolutely enormous? Asking that because I want to utilize the crafting system, but I also want to utilize it reasonably.
Reforging and soul matching are another cans of worms entirely.
But disassembly in such amounts potentially would yield far more than a potential singular drop from a single boss? Like, if I get 10 drops from 1k (which I can potentially get in about 4-6 drop intensive missions), it would mean that I wouldn't have to farm that particular boss these 10 times and would have for example 5 more expandable materials to fuck around or craft some kind of a valuable consumable. What if it's not 10 times but 100? I don't know since there is fuck all reliable information on the internet in my reach.
I just don't want to rely on things I wouldn't want to rely on, because it would exponentially increase the amount of things I'd have to manage, when I could just simply git gud or learn something about the mechanics themselves.
The key question is when and how do I not fuck it up? Because let's say soul matching costs fuckloads of dosh and if I know how to reasonably gain and spend the points I could at the same time save 40% of the fuckloads and as a consequence farm/grind less. And 40% of fuck loads is still fuckloads.
Tachibana Muneshige in particular and pretty much anyone that has a grab, but those usually have way manageable openings (or didn't outright one shot me unlike the former).
Umi-bozu is kinda cancer since there isn't much room to hold back and observe when he is in the 2nd from, and when he is in the first one there too you would assume that insta death pits and close proximity is a very dangerous combination until you learn the safe spots.
Sure, I know, I could buff myself for resistance, but then I could also cast anything else that could give me far bigger advantages.

Have you ever been so wrong that you can't even form a real reason for why to make the game harder for yourself later. Literally the exact same shit a schoolkid uses when they don't want to learn a better way of doing something. I mean, I guess I know your mental age and that you're bad at games now

Value + equipment stop at 50, meaning you have to farm for soul matching + value in floors 200 and above to get upgrades for them, and to reset soul matching cost, you need an ethereal item with "Reset No. of Matches" to soul match with your base gear, then it's resets cost and you don't need to waste gold and patronage points.

Have a pirated copy.

Haven't used magic at all. Wanted a pure melee approach to the game.

Kaido Axe, full Kaido set. It does something 1190 damage, I have 61+ strength, 42 body, 32 heart. A bunch of bonus health and ki from gear and reputation unlocks.

Instead of adhom how about you back up your claims?
Does sloth not work on centipede man in NG+? It does.
Fuck off.

well what do I really have to say here to someone who only played a quarter of the game and thinks he knows everything?

Oh, and the 320 level item crafting was a bug they fixed a long time ago, but if you soul match an item from 150 to 320 without soul matching reduction stats, it's expensive.

You don't have to sacrifice a fire elemented weapon to inflict lightning. You can us talismans or living weapon to temporarily change your elementa damage type. Or use onmyo. In fact stack fire and lightning statuses on your enemies for added pain.
Try out the Hinomotogo some time. I think that's the one that blinds enemies that you set on fire.

And a helmet too for reforging armor. See

At least learn the passives and pick a few select onmyo spells, and ninja abilities, for your particular build. I don't go anywhere without quickchange scroll and GS talismans and I'm rather fond of elemental shot and kunai.

Just spend it on the things that you feel that you will need first. Eventually if you keep playing that you will gain enough points to buy everything and have points left over.

Yeah he's a bit of a pain. Just keep fighting him and you'll learn his patterns. Shoot him in the head when he enters LW mode to take him out and get a free down stab.

Stack water resistances on your armor if the deathlaser is giving you problems. Also you can honest to god two shot him with Suzaku's summon attack. One for the first form and one for the second form. He'll pop like a water balloon.

Does it not work on centipede man on NG++?
I'm gonna check right fucking now, and if it does you gonna suck my dick all the way up to the balls.

yeah watch out the one whole boss in the entire game. So do you think the game ends on him or what here.

Nigger, that's not what he's saying. Once you reach the higher difficulties sloth becomes next to useless on the DLC bosses (and a lot of normal enemies) since they nerfed the spell into the ground, you are better off bringing any other spell into their fights.

You are going to get raped. I'm talking like 50 legs in each hole and then all the way through with the great halberd.

Huh that's odd. That's a pretty good set. Do you have B agility and 200 toughness? Do you have all the anti youkai passives from axe skills learned?

...

either reroll your stat lines on your gear or soul matching. only two real ways to spend gold.

By the way, there was a previous thread when the game aniversary ocurred. Here is the archive:

archive.is/1diqt

Well I have to unlock all the fucking regions again for some reason, but tested on muneshige and it werks just fine.
Fuck you.

Oh lord I'm laughing. So how did all that total knowledge about the game last for all of 4 seconds.

It's going to take you longer to cast the spell than it's going to last on the boss. Unless you have the quick cast mystic art than it'll take just about as long to cast as it will last.
If you absolutely need sloth then use makibishi balls.

I have something like 300 toughness but I'm at C agility. I think I have all the passives, including melee attack + 12.

You keep on moving goal posts and attacking strawmen.

Do those fucking balls even work in giant ass enemies like dlc fox?

There's your problem. You need to put enough levels in stamina too so you can move around faster. It makes all the difference in the world when you are using heavy armor and slow weapons. Btw what axe mystic art do you have set?

Man for someone who doesn't even know how the game works you sure like to act like you're a authority on it don't you?

Arguments? No? Fuck off.

Dude you didn't even know how NG+ worked. There's nothing I could say that you'll believe. Everyone's saying that sloth is useless later on and you're still believing that you, who doesn't even know how the game works, is right.

They do but they are much less useful on youkai or giant enemies. They are still better than sloth spells since they reapply sloth with every hit and you can renew ninjutsu with LW and the 2 piece Iga set bonus.
Also debuffs on higher difficulties can actually BUFF some enemies. I'm not sure if confusion does or not.
Speaking of which confusion is the king of status effects in Nioh.

I've done most of the game at C agility, including both DLCs. This guy shouldn't be destroying me as much as he has.

I have the art which does more damage on an attack that drains my Ki. Probably should change it to the yokai realm one, especially as this fuckers phase 2 has him creating them everywhere.

I noticed that confusion duration is also heavily reduced in way of demon, even with oda buff.
It's like some mmo-tier nerfs where devs felt that players are too powerful in their broken ass cheap game so they nerfed everything at some point.
I bet initially sloth duration was consistent across all difficulties.

Sloth initially was, in addition to it being about twice as effective. In addition you just admitted you were wrong about sloth you retard.

That might help. I forgot to ask what GS are you using and do you have quickchange.
If you don't want to respec than you could always try tiger running and there's also a armor bonus that you can get on boots that increases your speed too.

Actually I just had a thought. I wonder what Onmoraki's elemental weakness and resistances are? Kaido axe is lightning.

Well, I did acquire all the passives I could think of for samurai points and still left some to get.
For ninjutsu I took bullseye % projectile return, backstabbu and currently thinken bout either going for poison bomb spam/para spam or reinvesting back into +dmg for ranged weapons or going for get out of jail freecard, have 38 to spare.
For omnyo I took purification, luck and elixir+% and I'm pretty much dry on skill points.
I'm fond of str based heavy equip in any game (was wearing raging bull+head wraps until god of war looks down came along), but to minmax set bonuses (currently yatagarasu) you usually require a sword in a 2ndry slot. So yeah, given that taking passives and bare essentials leaves me with 0 skillpoints and I don't even always have a slot for axe/odachi/hand cannon - there isn't a build in particular one could speak of.
And there is still a question of "Does a melee/ranged/bare-handed/recurrent damage increase by x (not x%) becomes absolutely meaningless?".
Alright, I guess we are assuming that I'm not retarded and didn't take something completely wasteful like +1 to lower range of crafted equip or barber discount. It's still 30 points for rare materials (which I'm currently leaning towards), and 20 for reforging and soulmatching each.
What would be my main source of income?
Aiming is almost unmanageable with camera controls I have now.
That's not the point I was originally making. It's not fun getting oneshotted with no room for error or two. And if you know how to mitigate most of the incoming damage or have already learned the patterns and how to abuse them then you already are capable of beating the boss and pretty much don't require additional space for learning.

How does crafting change with progressing through difficulties(when is the lvl unlock for 150 divine gear?)? Where do you farm umbracite, strong umbracite etc en masse?

Enko I think its name is. The big tiger, gives me big buffs to grapple damage and strong attack. Quickchange as in switching spirits? Yes, but I rarely actually use LW.

Quickchange is Nioh's tears of denial. It revives you on death and as a bonus sets up a plunge attack.
Also I looked up a little about Onmoraki and it seems that it does a lot of wind damage. Maybe try windstop scrolls and learn the wind resist passives in onmyo.

Well really you shouldn't bother with crafting before NG= unless you really need a particular peice of equipment and absolutely wait until NG+ to reforge.
By the way you can also get rare materials from donating to your clan.
In defense of the Muneshige fight, it is an optional side mission that you can always come back to later and you can play ring around the rock when you're first starting out.
Ume bozu is a whole 'nother thing though. The fact that he can begin charging the water laser the instant you walk in the door is a huge pain in the ass. At least it's a very short trip back to the boss chamber.
I'm not certain. Those aren't bonuses that I really run with. My builds were always built around being the best ninja mage that I could possibly could be or for staying in LW mode for as long as possible.

fuck I hoped the running the game in window helped, it did for about 4 hours but still another crash. why cant KT make good ports

I haven't used onmyo at all other than the dojo mission. I likely have gimped myself big time, but I have beat every boss and mission barring a couple really tough ones with just melee.

I am on WotS and am planning my management with future prospects in mind and questions like, how much farming it would save me in the future compared to how much has to be done now.
I know, but I am yet to consider what is more profitable donating thousands of divine equipment or disassembling, given the fact that it isn't obvious if I should invest in soul matching first for future returns while trying to rush to the position where soul matching would be viable or if disassembly of ungodly amounts of divine gear could save me a ton of headache from farming said materials. And that's because I have only entered ng+ and only just unlocked muramasa, see my previous posts.

There are several ways to power level amrita and gear then move on to the next difficulty , trust me that you shouldn't be too attached to your gear till way of the wise with ethereals.

I'm not attached to my gear and trying to reforge or soul match like crazy. The problem is patronage points and what they are better to spent on on top of me trying to understand or get hold on the knowledge of how viable is crafting, since I want to make use of it.
I could either spend patronage points on disassembly and get tons of rare materials from useless equipment that would amount naturally, or I bear through the irritation of wasted materials for the sake of the saved gold that I'd get as returns if I invest in soul matching before it even becomes viable. Well, and if crafting isn't viable later on I probably should enjoy it now while rare materials could come in handy.

Easy to get patronage points later on with high gold reward missions that you can farm like crazy, then you can buy a load of travel amulets, ammos and ect to to get the necessary patronage points and max all your blacksmithing perk.

oh sell price and cost reductions on reforging and soul matching are the only things that you should spend patronage points on.
Forging is pretty bad because generally you're outpacing the forged gear.

With what you are saying I'd have to then first invest in purchase discount which complicates things even further, since patronage points require exponentially more gold with each acquisition after 30.

And with this I have to also include sell price. So a total of 130 points. When I don't even have the 30 I was leaning to invest in potential return of rare mats from disassembly.
How? Currently everything seems to be locked at 150 and I have no way of checking how it'll progress further on.

Don't worry about it, got all perks after spending millions on ammo, travel amulets, and divine fragments with the special find tab, got all of it while I was more worried with leveling while doing Marobashi mission. was surprised that a few runs I already had 73 patronage points while in-between selling/disassembly loot and buying stuff.

Oh, also exhaust all speaking options and answer yes to all of Tome's questions along with the old man, faster patronage points acquisition

I mean think of it this way, you can spend 7 hours farming the recipe, and in that time get 20-30 drops of the item you want.
And don't worry about it, you'll have more than enough playing the game normally, you'll start dumping it on stupid shit like the haircut discounts, and paying with patronage cost is outrageously worthless.
Also it's only 60 points to get all the bonuses that are worth it. Where are you getting 130 from.

I'm jumping across missions in way of the demon to check how sloth works and notice that my damage starts to fall off.
What stats do I even upgrade at this point? Everything seems to give diminishing returns.
Is there a point in upgrading life/ki?

So why were you acting like an expert again. Also you already noted why sloth falls off so hard with your own eyes.

Anyways, get your dex and omnyo to 30 so you're at max capacity, and then from there buff your main stats for your weapon of choice. Life is pretty much useless on WOTN and Ki is nice to have, but it's not necessary.

From what it looks like they barely give you 40 that way.

Why would I farm a recipe if I'm not certain if I'm going to craft or not? And don't those recipes drop from hanzo in abyss?
30 rare materials chance,
20 for reforging, soul matching, sell price
and 15 for purchase price.
A total of 105, meaning that I was just a bit off, while not being off enough to be wrong in a point I was making.

What's that noise?
Btw sloth does work, even with reduced duration it's a good way to rush down singular bosses, exactly like I mentioned initially. Nagamasa? Check. Nohime? Check. Those fat ass one shotting mobs spawning outta black mist? Double check.
I'm yet to test ninja balls tho.

Rare materials chance is pretty bad given how often you're killing bosses and demons, and purchase price isn't really useful given how low the costs are compared to how much you gain.
I mean if you're planning on forging a ton the rare materials thing is nice? but it's not a required pick.

Imagine being still mad, still being wrong, and still having the gall to ask for help from the people you pretend you're better than.

Wew talk about projection.
Take those trips, hopefully the'll make you happy.

So angry not replying isn't being mad now. Shit could've fooled me.

All rare monster mats I have are all in single digits, while divine gear can be farmed like candy from revenants.
You are comparing oranges with apples.
The comparison should be - how much does an item cost to how much is required to gain all the points. And I still don't know how severe the growth is (at least I know that from 0 to 20 it jumps from 200k to 1kk).
I don't even have enough solid information to make a solid decision. The only thing I know is that I'll be losing potential materials or gold depending on a decision I make now.

Okay let me break it down like this, you can't forge the highest tier of equipment. So forging falls off once you can get it on WOTN. Until then it's only useful if you're super dependent on a set bonus.
Soul matching however is always used the second you hit NG+ because of the divine bonus levels. Reforging is the same way because of stat lines.
Soul matching in particular costs an extreme amount of money, and is the main way to power up your gear once you hit that point, to the point where it's hands down the most expensive thing in the game, way beyond tome's shop. Reforging also costs a pretty penny but not as much.

Also rare monster mats have no real use other than forging, so that's why I said it's bad.

Asked before, but isntead I brought a whole discussion about sloth spell…I will ask again to what I should respec to, after completing the game in a Spear build.

Btw sloth werks and is effective as far as NG++ goes, keep salt flowing.

Whatever really, There's no real trap builds other than sloth and omnyo damage exclusively. But omnyo damage talismans when mixed with a good 1kat or something can easily inflict chaos and stunlock basically anything.
Pure ninjutsu can work if you have enough unlimited ninjutsu% on your armor and you have the right stat lines on your gear.
Basically anything really works if you want it to work hard enough.

But then wouldn't soul matched items also fall down further on? Like currently I'm limited to 150 +15, but then it's also like 320 and +25 or some shit?
Forging can not only be done for equipment, but can also be used for items. And even if I would abstain from forging now, I'll still be disassembling heaps of equipment until I reach the point where I would be comfortable with crafting/soul matching.

Its just that im not sure what new weapon to test. I used Spear already (Katana was my secundary weapon, and I always wear one even when in late game I barely used it). So I would like to hear your opinions/ideas.

Max level of soul matching bonus is 150. It takes awhile to get.

You're on Strong right? Try a pure ranged weapon build with the yatagarasu set. Or go full retard with a carnage talisman and a steel fist.
Both are at least good for a laugh.

If you want something that's a little more viable though, try a kuri-ninjutsu build. Highest damage in the game, and is strong all around.

Try tonfas, they are less viable than spears but you can do a lot of interesting combos with them once you unlock demon dance

No it just Dark Souls 2 with a Diablo 2 skinner-box.

Hows that build?
Heard and saw from visitants that Kurisamas are the most OP weapons, and im tempted, plus I barely used ninja skills, so its interesing.
Thanks for the info.

It does feel like some sort of online grinder that would fit right along with warframe and PSO2, but without "online" component, so you just grind, grind and grind to grind more.
Same shit over and over again, until you stop and ask yourself a question "am I having fun"?
And if the answer is no, it's time to move on.

It's pretty fun, you aim for headshots/weakpoints and spam cannons. The shadowround talisman and the return ammo on weakspot hits means you don't really run out of ammo. You need a lot of unlimited ammo on your gear though. It has a soft cap at 25% and then throw more on to get chain-cannon mode (provided you have that shadowround talisman up). If you have cannon speed up on a piece of equipment it makes it shoot out like lightning. But you're not very mobile so it becomes a strange game of having to pick your shots.
The damage is fantastic too until melee weapons catch up.

I see, altought I already used ranged weapons multiples times, and I even upgraded to +10 the damage of ranged weapons. Now going full on it could be interesing to try, so if not full build, i could try to use it more.

A lot of people don't realize that all human bosses are weak to headshots, you can put Maria into a headshot loop if you're good enough.

Or spam Daiba-Washi.

I already take notice from that a long time ago. Even when not headshotting, ranged weapons are really usefull, and in many bosses it helped me win. Besides, I love the giant cannon. But because its easy to say than do that, its not like I always done that.
That, and because the long-charging spear attack, when done well, its really effective in downing human bosses, and if you strike at the moment they are going up, you put them at the ground, and so you ground-attack them. Rinse and repeat. Requires good timing, and for the boss to not block, but its really good combo.

is there exclusive looking equipment for these difficulties or its just recolors with better stats

Just better stats and in the Abyss there's exclusive graces (set bonuses) for ethereal drops there.

Finally beat that cunt Onmoraki. I think my problem was focusing too much on the horn, which goes away sometime in the second phase anyway. So I just focused on hitting his legs, maybe sneaking some hits into the tail. Occasionally going for the horn with an axe high stance heavy.

I'm just worried the next mission will be even worse. Higher level and mission difficulty.

There's also the cathat

The next mission is probably the longest one in the game and has multiple boss fights.

And the swordsmith's hammer, just shitty that soulmatching value+ stops at 50, then you have to farm in floor 200+ to get beyond that limit.

There's a story about Masamune arriving very late to a battle or a siege because he's 2COOL2SCHOOL and, allegedly, was ready to be executed for this insolence given that his liege at the time was none other than Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

I think the more pertinent question is - why does KT always dindu the Sengoku era folks? Every representation of theirs, they're all fuckin' saints.

Same as with chinks really

Attached: Liubei-dw7art.jpg (690x980, 586.24K)

I don't know enough about that part of history nor do I play the games but it wouldn't surprise me. It seems like a KT thing.
It's over the top but at least with Sengoku Basara you can look at a character and think "Man, what a fuckin' asshole!"

On the history note, I admit I sat out of Nioh when I realized it ended up being more fantastical historical reenactment than fighting monsters with half the bosses being "famous name #XX". I think Onimusha worked better with the premise even if the execution was faulty at times.

Attached: tenkai.jpg (1652x2497, 396.17K)

Its chinks. Of course they get more related to souless characters than to normal ones.

The worst part is that Shu kingdom is my favorite color, and Cao kingdom is my least favorite color.

Lads Nioh won't launch for me. I have adequate system specs with win 7 and updated everything but the os. The only potential solution after looking online is to download Windows6.1-KB2670838-x64 and update but I dont trust it. Did any of you have to do this in order to play?

You forgot having his adopted son killed to make way for his biological kid, and it being justified later as him abandoning Guan Yu. Him throwing his son was supposed to be about his general having value and his kid not having any yet from what I understand, but it comes off as both cold to the general and kid, and ungrateful.

I was just sitting there grinding mariboshi (or whatever, where you fight weapon masters in dojo) on NG++ for the past hour.
What am I doing with my life? I just can't be assed to play any other missions, because the whole "navigate through this shitty maze" business is just bore at this point.

No. Look up wmv codec issue, might be that.
And yeah apply updates to windows unless you 100% know what update in question dues.

Attached: Liu Bei.jpg (720x400 118.75 KB, 2.54M)

If you read the original Three Kingdoms and you can notice liu bei is the most reasonable and good-hearted of all lords during that time. He had to betray everyone because they were all fucking mass murdering, power hungering psychos and the lineage shit is bit complicated. He threw his baby off because he wanted Zhao Yun and other generals to care their own lives more than his son's, and actually it was more of stunt and baby never got hurt. He actually later grow up and ruin the father's kingdom. Liu Bei should have throw the baby more hard and killed him or either Zhao Yun never protected that baby. That baby is literal retard and later ruin the whole kingdom.
Liu Bei is actually generally good-hearted hero type guy if you follow the history and records. There countless and numerous records shows how Liu Bei was good-hearted and cared for people, really rare person to see in that time. It's bit exaggerated after years but it is definite that he was good-hearted lord.
The problem is he started from local militia and gained his power and influence solely by his personality and benignity, his actual leadership is questionable.

Attached: lb.jpg (335x421, 88.1K)

Liu Bei is pretty much treated like the good guy in Dynasty Warriors too. Fucking Zhuge Liang can do no wrong according to Koei.

Play Kessen 2, the colors are swapped around.

Have you ever considered the possibility that if Liu Bei never threw his kid to the floor like a handegg player spiking the ball in the endzone, he wouldn't have grown up retarded and ruined his father's kingdom? Maybe if Liu Bei didn't dunk his kid like he was auditioning for Space Jam the baby would have grown up to be a perfectly functional heir.

That's extremely fucked up.
Why did he do that?

Do what? Drop an infant like the Enola Gay drops nukes on Japan? Pitch a toddler like a Cuban pitches balls at the World Series? Hurl a newborn like an Olympian hurls a discus?

That's exact same shit historians questions; that Liu Shan is so retarded and dumb some people jokingly ask if he actually bumped his head during Battle of Changban when Liu Bei threw him and became literal retard. But there's no records that Liu Shan suffered physical trauma after that. And the whole 'Lie Bei threw his baby off' is unofficial part of the history that is mouth-to-mouth story. That shows how much he cared his own people.

At the Battle of Changban Zhao Yun rescue the infant son of Liu Bei and surrounded by millions armies of Cao Cao, and in hold of infant son of lord in one arm, fucking Zhao Yun films Behind Enemy Lines irl and try to escape while being hunted by Cao Cao's generals. Cao Cao actually ordered his generals to capture him alive because it was quite fucking act to dive into millions of enemies and escape, and meanwhile fucking Zhang Fei thought Zhao Yun betrayed Liu Bei and chase him for traitor because Zhao Yun literally rushed into enemy line and that means only thing; he betrayed. While Zhao Yun being hunted by both enemies and friendly he actually brought the infant alive and escaped. But his body was absolutely trashed and heavily injured, when he was in front of Liu Bei, after Liu Bei realized he didn't berated but dived into millions of enemies just to save his son, and injured himself, Liu Bei throw the infant son to the ground and says "Why didn't you care you life first".
It's quite dramatic and romantic story.

Attached: haha.jpg (900x900, 57.37K)

No, why did he betray Sun Quan?

fug why i always forgot to remove the flag

Why did they add some omnyo spells in the DLC that weren't all that great? The one that spawns swords and a few others come to mind.

They might scale better at higher magic and spirit levels. When ever I get back into the game and get a complete Tsukuyomi I'm going to make a pure onmyo build and try all of the new spells out.

Fuck doing those bullshit side missions, fuck grinding NG+ and beyond and fuck grinding the Abyss. I'm free, anons.

That said, Nine Tailed Fox was a cool boss. Good finale to the game. I'll definitely go back to Nioh one day and try a different build. I went pure melee and focused almost entirely on axes, so I missed out on a lot. I'm a stubborn player though so don't budge. Now we wait for Nioh 2 or a spiritual successor.

Everything that isn't cheap dual bosses battle in nioh is great and well designed.
Why did they have to make those side missions, that work against game's logic and mechanics though I have no idea.

Attached: nioh 2018-03-04 01-56-28-13.png (1920x1080, 3.11M)

Some of them become absolute bullshit

Attached: 876435467678.png (1014x1035, 344.73K)

This is the only game where Oda has that "I'm getting too old for this shit" look.

The dual bosses were meant to be hard post-game content before the DLC came out. Also git gud, but in Japanese.

He's like the deliberately reversed version of samurai warriors Nobunaga
I bet they did it on purpose and I'm loving it.

Attached: maxresdefault (18).jpg (400x551 362.57 KB, 272.31K)

This is one of the things that I love about Nioh. All of the armor and weapons, aside from just a handful of fantasy peices, are completely realistic and period accurate. I think they designed all of the equipment directly after real armors in museums. In some cases after the exact armors that are attributed to particular samurai.
I think the only character that has completely made up armor is Sakata no Kintoki Kaido armor. Even that is based on a combination of the folkloric depictions of Kintaro and it still looks like a real set of samurai armor.
Even that fucking bear hat is period accurate.

Attached: Tetsu Yon Mari Kuma Gashira Harikake Kabuto Muromachi Period.jpg (500x667 153.74 KB, 107.95K)

I have to grind NG+ and Abyss to beat dlc? fug.

Attached: 4d.jpg (409x314, 25.25K)

Maroboshi is one of the favored grinding spots for both amrita and gear.

No, you shouldn't have to. Maybe a little if you want more levels. You should be rolling in 150 divine gear, which is perfectly fine for the DLC on way of the Samurai or whatever the base NG is called.

The DLC is a stupid jump in difficulty though, more in the form of damage sponge enemies and bosses.

But I wanted onimusha with stamina based combat, not Ninja gaiden with diablo pinãta loot system.

Attached: aaaaaaaaaa.jpg (904x583, 325.05K)

I did well fighting the first and part of the second DLC with an Odachi and Tatenashi armor. Try to get increased attack or defense when surrounded on some of your equipment.

Too bad, you get both fucker.

Its completely doable m8. I did it with C agility, axes only and no magic.

this game is harder than all the dark souls games tbh. haven't played bloodborne yet but plan to. still think this game is insanely difficult.

I struggled with this game too. And I used a spear as main weapon(spears are not kurasima OP, but they are recommended as a beginner weapon for a reason), and I used omnyo spells like sloth and GS Talisman.
The thing with this game is to learn well the movesets of the enemies, obtain good gear( its more important than levels stats), to stay light as possible, and to choose well your habilities. Also, choose well your Guardian Spirit.

Possibly, though it all depends. If you played DS first, then DS will still likely be harder. Moreso if you were a casual scrub who played nothing like DS before. Nioh would be even harder if I hadn't played a good deal of character action games as well a lot of DS/DeS/BB.

Still very difficulty though, often the wrong kind of difficulty (lol more numbers).

Attached: aaaa.jpg (1692x1167, 1.61M)

I can't talk about DS but I'm pretty confident in saying that Nioh is harder than Bloodborne. However, you can make Nioh easier than you can make BB because Nioh has far more systems that you can make builds around.
Also ranged is perfectly serviceable in Nioh, even powerful, where as in Bloodborne ranged is barely usable both in strength and effective range.

Needs "buy here" at the high points and "sell here" at the low points

Does over leveling helps with difficulty? Im not really into NG++ and such Im just going through campaign since it seems that out of all those souls like game this one is heaviest story focused and also japan setting is interesting

Not much.
Gear is what carries you, and upgrades/levels/rarities of gear are locked behind NG cycles.

It does to some extent but the real benefit to leveling/over leveling is a bit more complex than just higher attack and defense. For one thing being over leveled means that you are much more flexible build wise and you don't have to respec in order to go from say heavy armor axe man to speedy ninja. You can just change your armor and weapons. It also means that you can learn the entire onmyo or ninjutsu tree or both and can prepare your spells as needed for a given situation.
While we're on that subject putting a lot of levels into Magic or Dex is extremely important if you plan on being an offensive mage or ninja for actually getting good damage out of your attacks. There are also secondary key stats as well Spirit (onmyo) and Skill (ninja) that increases the damage. Spirit is also a key stat for your Guardian Spirits if you plan on using them a lot pump levels into that stat.
Anyway, independent of DPS pumping extra levels allows you to do things like running around in heavy armor at B agility or get to the magical 200 toughness when nearly naked.

The actual secret to leveling in Nioh isn't so much about leveling William but leveling his weapons and armor via soul matching and reforging bonuses on your armor. Mixing and matching set bonuses is another thing that you need to do to maximize your build.

Is there a reason some revenants drop millions of amrita, or is it just cheating? The dude dealt massive damage and somehow had over 5000 health. Oddly the guy was maybe lv.33 at best. I've seen some big amrita drops, but never this much before.

Attached: Mugi.png (471x500, 124.89K)

Never encountered this in 100+ hours.

I've got nearly 500 hours but it's rare to see massive amrita like this. One kill on it netted 6 million.

My best guess was that the revenant had respec'd after beating the game to help his buddy

Attached: [visible confusion].gif (280x302, 4.21M)

Is there something important you should buy with glory?
obv since I pirated I cant farm it efficiently in mp…

No, there's not much to worry about

See if the teahouse still lets you join a clan, if it does you can donate your shitty equipment there for daily rewards of gold and glory.

I need to redownload this. Haven't played it since the DLC came out with the Sephiroth swords. They don't swing fast enough and I kinda got annoyed with it.

Is getting two shotted by bosses normal? Or am I not leveling properly? I'm at the duel with Tachibana and all prior bosses could easily two shot me.

I can join but donating is locked.

Early in the game, not really. You may have some low gear for him.

Only skins by the looks of it and some useful forging materials and shiguku medicine. I saw a cheat engine for Nioh to let you have glory but didn't try it.

Don't think of Odachi as big katana, instead think of them as axes for use on humans instead of youkai. You need to be a little bit tanky to use them best. Also they are amazingly fast in LW mode.

Then all is lost if you really want skins or something you'll have to farm revanents, so you'll need to be in the higher difficulties to make it worthwhile.

Or use cheat engine like the other user mentioned.

okay what would be realistic amount of glory I could get in genuine game? I dont want to overblow the amount I would cheat and fuck the game by making it too much easy (there is buying equipment in that gloryshop)

I kind of depends. If you have a very low level character taking on high level revenants you'll take in quite a bit of glory per kill. There's also weapon bonuses that increase glory.
That functions mostly on a roulette though.

While I bought the game I honestly believe that locking any sort of progression behind online content is bullshit, even if it's for cosmetics.
So I full encourage you Cheat Engine that glory and buy all the skins.

if it was just cosmetics it would be okay , but I cant change clan without logging in.

is it usual for this game that particle effect tank the framerate and make the game stutter? got into zone with snow and it suddenly stutters like crazy

I’m really loving this game I just dont understand why it doesnt feel very memorable. Does anyone else feel this way?

I kind of get what you mean. No boss really stands out apart from a few. Same with the levels. Music as well.

What really hurts this game is its length. There is simply too much game so it ultimately suffers from too much of a good thing. Reused levels, constant fighting of the same enemies, only seven weapon classes despite all the extra stuff like skills, magic and ninjitsu. Its still a great game, but I would really like them to make a sequel/successor and do away with the immense padding.

is there somewhere buff/debuffs guide? I cant really tell from some icons what is doing what

Not really, if you post a screenshot anons could tell you what each thing does though.

Actually yes. Game's engine can't handle its own graphics, believe it or not. Game crashes even on beefy rigs in some particular areas in DLC.
Try setting windows 7 compatibilty in exe's properties, regardless of what OS you have, it limits amount of particles game renders.
It fixed shit for me.

Because nothing is original in there, it has zero artistic value. Everything is either reused concept form earlier koei games, or direct-to-game folklore/history figure/locale adaptation with minimun alterations.
I don't want to shit on game like that, I absolutely adore it, but it has no identity on its own, even all its mechanics are all borrowed and/ore recycled.

Attached: pumparum motherfucker.jpg (848x477, 72.81K)

I had minimum crashes, a few. I was more likely to have some weird black screen bug making me Alt+F4 as I couldn't see or do anything.

Nioh status effects. Search that.

what seemed to help me with crashes was turning shadows completely off. ffs

also getting bit bored with game, like the setting but rest is meh.

nevermind

damn the game really takes a nosedive in secondhalf, wasnt expecting that

How so? If anything it picks up with the battles.

might be just for me because I have to repeat parts more because it crashes on me so often and I lose all progress so I got burned out on the game quicker.

Game really felt Darksiders to me, good and enjoyable games, but not that memorable or leave an impact to you, if there ever is a sequel, they need to work their fucking ass on it, and maybe add William's real life hafu kids Joseph and Susanna for both male and female customization, and for god's sake, they need to work on game balance and optimization, I got both the PS4 and PC version and the game was not made to for really huge levels.

It isn't terribly surprising that it reuses so much or plays it so safe with folklore and history, though. The game was in development hell for a long time, so it was a huge shock that the end product was as good as it was.

15 -17 years of development hell if you add in that this was a leftover script of Akira Kurosawa and they started a prototype in 2005 when the PS3 was showcased.

Hahaha thank god for Team Ninja.
Koei almost developed it themselves.
It was a hair close to being yet another Koei flop.

Attached: h-264_39197_ps3_nioh00.jpg.jpg (400x225, 26.39K)

And not just a koei flop, it was going to be another "warriors" game. eugh
I like the long and loose hair more than what we got though, and wish there was an option for it.

Here's a comparison, the older version was pretty much Onimusha + Dynasty Warriors, you could see they salvaged a lot of old assets and how terrible some of the optimization is (draw distance a shit, you can outrun enemies and they disappear from view)

This might be the only time where a game benefited greatly from being in development hell.

And Team Ninja added a game to their portfolio that isn't Ninja Gaiden or Dead or Alive! (Other M did not exist and I blame that Kojima-wannabe Yoshio Sakamoto that aborted fetus)

In another universe it could have been Platinum.

Platinum is too busy doing average to shitty license games that barely keep themselves afloat or have several projects of theirs cancelled by publishers (Fuck you Microsoft, you almost killed them) till Nip Moonman's NieR Automata, 2B's ass and 9Shota's innocence literally and figuratively saved their asses.

While I like platinum, they are one trick pony.
Most of their games play the same.
If Nioh was another bayonetta reskin, it wouldn't be nearly as succsessful.

Was MGR a bayonetta reskin?

Yes

Attached: Implying I didnt play it.JPG (468x156, 19.91K)

I think it was also a redemption story for the director as well. I remember hearing that he was in charge of Ninja Gaiden 3.

They have an engine built specifically for that kind of combat.

No, about 90% of Bayonetta is "MASH X REALLY FAST", this is not the case with MGR.

Hope they make more varied games and another Nioh game that doesn't run like hot shit in both console and PC.

Tbh mashing forward+X really fast does work with MGR, at least on normal difficulty it does.

pls no
Platinum is awful and can only make one style of game

MGR and Bayonetta really don't play that similarly tbh. I find the combat more enjoyable in MGR.

At some point it dawned upon me that dodge from bayo/tomata and parry from MGR is really the same thing that is presented in different ways.
It may look and feel different, but it functions the same.
To the point where devs probably realized it near the end of MGR and added actual dodge move that you only need to move on the last couple of bosses, because those damage you through parry - something that never happens in the entire game before.

At the guys with the crashes, are you having regular game crashes, or does it crash your video drivers?

I don't think I've ever seen or heard of video drivers crashing.

game crashes now for like 80% of time before it used to be drivers but I think Adrenaline fixed that and also made some edit in windows or such so that application waits for driver bit more.
it also sometimes says that nioh.exe wanted access gpu driver or something, right as it crashes

What are some good guardians spirits for the Odachi?
I just got to the Sekigahara region, taking any tips you guys might have.

Yeah, been having the same issue and wasn't able to fix it.

Nobunaga's spirit is just the best one in general, mainly due to its crazy damage and ki regen buffs that you can have both at once.

Any of the particularly long lasting ones if you plan on using an Odachi in LW mode a lot.

meme spacing is a forced meme.

Kato

These. For overall/melee style of game, Kato and The Peacock are really good. Now, I havent played Way of the strong yet, and I have just reset my stats to try a Kurisama & ninjutsu build (previous build was Spear melee style). I havent tested it yet, but when I start playing again, I would like to know any recommended GS combinations, plus any other advise.

He didn't even reach that point yet.

Suzaku is hands down the best spirit until WotW and even then gauge regen and auto bomb - is an absolutely retarded combination, almost as cazul as sloth (though unlike suzaku it's usefulness diminishes with hp and dmg scales).
Tengen Kujaku is great for clearing out stages, otherwise feeling like giving it a strong to decent 8.

Basically rush through all difficulties and then switch between abyss farm and progression through WotN to access the highest crafting equipment lvls that would allow you to minmax into higher abyss lvls and normal stages with hair locks that would otherwise be too hard for you. Otherwise there isn't much reason for soul matching, reforging and forging.
There are some stages that have guaranteed drops and a pool of drops that has yatsukani magatama (if I'm not mistaken on the name), which gives a -1 set item requirement boost that would allow to have additional damage reduction boosts from ranged and melee weapon slots. Obviously fullish tatenashi and partial obsidian/seven misfortunes are recommended for dmg reduction stacking. And then you'd also prefer to boost your body and stamina to the max.
There are enough samurai skill points to fill up the entire skill tree and then some more. If unsure, omnyo and ninjutsu are better spent on passives in order of your preferences, though don't pick retarded options like increased bomb/elexir amounts. If you have something else in mind you could always farm for unlimited use elem resist charms in the abyss instead.
Books of reincarnation are given out like candy in the late game.
If you want to farm revenants for equipment the only feasible points are on 1st playthrough, WotS (do with lvl 100 char on the bridge sub quest) and after you clear all the difficulties (unlock equipment levels or is it just character level that limits what drops you get from defeating one?).

what does the shinto gate mean in mision desc?

Suzaku is a good utility spirit but lacks the damage the other fire spirits can give like Kato.

I think that means you can summon on that mission.

He has great area denial though with his attack.

The spin into a circular fire zone is great for stuns and dropping enemies but doesn't do a ton of damage itself and can sometimes not go where you want it to, and the stats on Suzaku are kind of lackluster other than the auto-LW skill. I like and use Suzaku but I wouldn't say it's the best when Kato can give meme crit builds that decimate bosses on the higher difficulties.

hmm alchemist laboratory key opens door in silver mines, is it feature where its masterkey or is my game bugged with it

I have some questions for Nioh veterans.

Depends if you can enjoy really good loot n grind with great combat, the game is really different between all five difficulties with you having to change your mindset. But got it both on PS4 and PC (on Floor 501 on the Abyss atm) really satisfying dungeon crawler, though it might not be fun for people who aren't up to the tedious grind.
For a new players, I reckon 12-20 hours on the main game, 14 hours on all the DLC, the difficulties and end game Abyss can really pad out your game towards hundreds of hours depending on how you play.
It's a Soulsborne game with Ninja Gaiden levels of combat, much faster and Diablo style loot grinding, you can make dedicated builds or a jack of all trades, you can still wreck shit
Hope you're thinking on getting it on PC, fuck the PS4 Plus subscription, it's possible but on the main game, you can't co-op event-level bosses, but on Abyss you can tug in with a friend and try to go through 999 floors of bosses and annoying yoki.

Depends how poorfag you are. I'd price it more around 20, but 30 is ok.
I have 63 hours on my first play through with a decent amount of dicking around.
Not really, but that's what NG+ and respect scrolls are for. You won't really ever make a new character, but you'll make a lot of different builds.
Depends. If you like the environment and level design more, then no not really cause the mission setting and the random loot make it so it's not like DS where you might find a hidden area or unique weapon as you explore. If you liked the combat more the yes, as it improves upon it in almost every way.

Oh shit last part cut off.
Yes, but it has the same problem co-opting DeS and DS does in that you will play everything twice, once in your world once in your partner's, and that having two people and all the extra shit you get from co-oping may trivialize the game a bit.

Yes
100+
Yes
Yes
Nope.

I probably should elaborate.
The whole idea that you can't just venture into the unknown with your buddy, and at least one of you have to clear level at least once is mind boggling.
Imagine if contra worked like that. Or lost vikings. Or fucking Diablo 2.
This is stupid and bullshit.
I absolutely don't recommend Nioh for co-op experience, it's shit.
Only play it if you want to solo or go with randoms.

I heard they patched that though?

You can play the entire game co-op without having to beat the levels first fyi.

I'm pretty sure they did.

what is that

So has anyone actually beat this game, or is it a meme game for weebs who wanted a jap version of Dark Souls?

Done all difficulties and beaten Abyss 999 floors, playing it again on PC and on floor 507, just wanted to see how fast I could finish the game after learning everything possible and doing a jack of all trades build.

How can I speed up NG+, that blue bar is creeping really slowly.

There is no single villain in video game in history that more pathetic than Edward Kelley. He is literally worse than Anthony Burch. By the way I beat him no hit in the first attempt.

Do short sub missions?

Well, the advice was meant for a person that hasnt reached WotN, until then meme sets are just dreams.
You also forget the auto-fill feature that let's you resource efficiently spam the living weapon (time efficient spam will be later, when there'll be enough spirit stones in the storage or enough omnyo points to waste on a t3 skill).

yes
no, it's too hard (see "artificial difficulty")
>is it a game for weebs who wanted a jap version of Dark Demon Souls?
yes and no

He isn't even the main villain.
you did do hundred eyes right?

He was just as pathetic as Edward and the fucking end stage was recycle of the first stage. And he was just as easy as Edward. But at least he's not bald so he's not pathetic as Edward.

he wasn't the main villain either
you did finish the DLC right?

Having an IREV(Irish Rebel English Villain) story set in feudal Japan was retarded to begin with.

What the fuck is that giant skeleton bird whatever the fuck boss, I've tried like 5 times and I'm already tempting to watch a guide but a part of me is too prideful to do that.

The problem is there's no much R34 of Maria on the internet. Fucking Koei cannot write a single good plot ever. All the characters are lame and boring and there's not a single memorable moment in-game story-wise. I can fucking write a better plot myself with my fucking anus. Gameplay is good but fucking story is holy shit it's comedy.
I want to fuck Saoirse. I understand why Willian traveled across the world to save his waifu.

is there some pages that has all the amritapedia stuff from game? wiki is incredibly empty

also where could sequel take place, there was long peace after game and you cant really move it elsewhere because you would lose on jap market…

What makes you think there is going to be a sequel?

Nioh opened at number 2 in the UK sales charts.[68] Retailers Amazon and Walmart sold all their stock of Nioh within the first week of release.[69] It shipped 75,477 copies in its first week in Japan, entering the charts at number 2.[70] On February 24, 2017 Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja announced that Nioh had sold over one million units worldwide within its first two weeks of sale. The numbers included retail shipments and digital sales.[71]

It's time to stop, I knew you were garbage when you posted an unironic meme nigger.

A spinoff or a prequel.

Make my faggot, I can suck dicks whenever I want and my points are validated. Edward is a shit villain and Maria is soulless slut.

Is this game worth playing if I can only play the PS4 version, and only offline?

Would Nobunaga flood Japan with nigers since he was such westernboo?

If you already bought PS4 goy, you just buy everything you see and don't ask questions.

If it got him stability and security of the nation - yes.

And yet I'm asking if Nioh is worth playing offline on a PS4.

He's a pretty damn good villain. Maybe a bit too shonen anime but he does everything a villain needs to in order to service the story.
The real villain is of course Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Absolutely. Online is only if you want to sunbro with friends and strangers or if you want to play the 3D fighting game that is PVP.

Yes.
Buy it.

Alright. Then I'll buy the Complete Edition once I'm done with my current game.

You can say that about any console. Why isn't PC mustard shit like this banned too.

No need to be upset my good customer.
Don't forget to buy amiibos for bayonetta 3, it will make you feel better.

I struggled with him for a stupid amount of time. I was too stubborn to switch from C agility and axe only though. His attacks are telegraphed nicely so there isn't a big issue there. Focus on his tail if you can.

...

I'm new to the game, can someone learn me on stances? Besides certain combos, I haven't yet seen a reason to not always be in low stance (with dual swords that is) and I'm starting to think I'm playing the game wrong.

Low is fast but weak, mid is mid damage and speed but with best blocking (less ki reduction I think) and high is slower but more powerful.

You haven't lived until you wreck shit with high stance axes.

The game should have already mentioned the gist of it.
Spamming with low stance might work for a while but utilizing all the stances gives you more tools when you're dealing with enemies who don't easily lose their ki (low attacks are terrible for breaking guard or dealing ki damage and you'll lose your ki quicker than the guy guarding depending on their stance) or have higher health.

As you proceed through the game you'll start learning more techniques and certain ones can only be assigned to certain stances.
Don't worry about it too much. I've found that I default to certain stances with certain weapons and only switch as needed.
You should probably try to become comfortable with mid stance though since you are locked into that mode during LW.

Am I the only one who thinks he was poorly designed?

Well why not?

Aint clicking jewtube embed.
Stability and security is exactly what Nobunaga brought to Japan during his rule.
He might have been eccentric, but his policies worked perfectly fine and improved overall economic and military situation of the entire nation.
He was essentially Caesar of Japan. He even died in a similar way.

As a dual swords main I can tell you the following

He's regular gimmick boss that doesn't work with game's mechanics. It took me like 30 minutes to figure him out on my own, but past that he's as easy as it gets.

Because consoles have a long history and japs love their history.
If all jap developers and publishers just instantly switched to PC they would see huge increase in profits, but that's against asians' love for history so it won't ever happen.

I can't begin to describe how fucking retarded this is. I know anti-console shitposting is a common thing on Holla Forums, but I suspect it has also encouraged r/masterrace neckbeard types to spout dumb bullshit unironically.

Because there is a clear demand for pre-built hardware. Hell, I bet that if you erased all consoles and their history from existence right now, that market would just be discovered again and tapped into,
Naturally, after further expansion, the competition among makers of said hardware grows fiercer, which inevitably leads the industry back again into the necessity of unique incentives such as exclusive titles.

This shouldn't be a difficult thing to understand. What truly is mind-boggling is the language that people often use to describe the situation.
